Official Birthday/Anniversary Cake thread

Oh hey, one more question! - I've seen some cakes with just a basic buttercream frosting on top, and others with a white chocolate/chocolate swirled ganache on top. Which is better? I have buttercream planned for mine right now, but that ganache looks sooooo good! Anyone know how they compare in taste?

I talked to a very nice CM named Jodi. I am getting the 6in cake from CG and they are going to put the castle on it and write Happy anniversary on it. The cake is 12.50 and the castle is 15.00

My mini cake was just $25 I'm pretty sure... same cost at the Boardwalk as it was at the GF. It was a 4", 2" I believe.
I called a couple weeks ahead both time just to make sure they're have the time to squeeze it in. It tasted exactly like our wedding cake (that I'm sure was baked at the Boardwalk Bakery since we were married at Sea Breeze Point) with buttercream (my absolute fav!!). I had the chocolate with raspberry mousse once and although I love chocolate and raspberries, it just didn't thrill me. The simple white cake with buttercream was wonderful IMHO.
I too, always worried that it wouldn't be there but they always were. Not to worry... Disney knows what they're doing
We still have our cake topper too, but this mini cake wouldbe crushed undder it I think it's about the same size as the topper from the original... if you wanted another full sized wedding cake I think they run $250+...

Will they deliver cakes to the moderates. We are staying at POFQ. We are having lunch as CRT for my daughter's 2nd b-day (4 adults + her), but since they already serve dessert I really don't think we would eat a cake there. I was thinking of having cake in our room that evening and opening presents. If it can't be delivered can I pick one up somewhere, maybe at MK bakery? The alternative I guess would be to be satisfied with the free cupcake and not get a cake, but I feel bad, especially since I don't think we will be having a party at home for her this year since we will be at WDW for 10 days during her b-day instead. Suggestions please!!

Wow, $25 for the mini wedding cake isn't bad. Trying to figure out if our small cake topper would work. Anyone have any opinions?
It's small, measurements are 5.5"L x 4.75"W. I emailed Disneyshopping.com, hopefully they can give me a weight.

Anyone think it would work on the top of the mini-wedding cake?

The top is only 2-3 inches so i'm sure it wouldnt fit, but you could try a 6" cake?

If I don't do the mini wedding cake, I'll just do the 8" and use my cake topper as I originally planned.

I have a question I hope someone can help me with. We will be celebrating dd birthday while at WDW in July. We are going to eat dinner at GF for the character meal. I was thinking about ordering a cake but my hang up is that we are planning on going to MK after we eat. I don't want to walk around all night carrying the leftover cake (there will only be 4 in our party so I am assuming we will have plenty leftover cake). We are staying at BC during our stay. Is there anyway to get the leftover cake from GF to BC without carrying it around all night? That night happens to be extra hours at MK so I know we will be there late and am afraid of what affect the hot and humid weather will have on the cake.

We headed to WDW in April with a couple of DH's students for Nationals. They had never been to WDW, so I had this cake waiting for them at the GF. It was SO good! White cake with bavarian cream and raspberries....

DH and I celebrated our anniversary at Citrico's last Friday night. I ordered a cake from GF and also for our daughter who became a Senior that day and also was selected for the two top vocal groups at her Arts High School, I ordered the Cinderella Slipper Dessert.

The detail on the cake was just beautiful..

She just loved it and was very surprised.

Just so you guys know, I tried the cake number and selected AKL for Boma & Jiko, and the lady who answered said something like private dining, and she said it was the correct number, if I wanted a cake in my room, so I think that new cake number is pretty good!
