So I have a question

I picked up my new reading glasses Friday. Paid $200 for them. They are no better than my $16 drug store version. What to do? DO I go back and thell them to take them back and refund my money? Try again? I hate to throw away $200 for fear of hurting the docs feeling. Actually they strain my eyes too. What a pain!

If they strain your eyes you are not used to them yet and are wearing them to much at first.

I am sure they are to your prescription Marita so they have to be better then the drug store one. I never tried the drug store ones. I think I do need bi -fiocals though because I have to take off my glasses to read.

Thanks Nab!

How can I wear them too much if I need them to read? That is about all I do, including work. Don't have much choice. I will give it a few more days.

I guess you should have worn them off and on all weekend. Less reading and working....:lmao:

I find when I change the prescription that happens to me too until you get used to them. But if it continues call the doctor for sure.

Thanks, nab, I will

You know what will feel really strange? When I meet you in person and call you Debbie, LOL.

I know I am sure I will want to call Cheryl Moo....:lmao:

Can't wait for it to happen though.

I better get myself to bed. We have 9 days left of school. :woohoo:

What-EVER!

Was there another mass exodus?
Was I left at the alter? ;)

This well-oiled machine just ain't the same with out all it's moops!

Did I tell yous I almost died? In Costco? From a funky energy drink foisted on me by a 20 year old fitness crack?

Ok, "Died" is a slight overstatment, more like lips started burning (first symptom), and it felt like I had a sunburn from the inside out, RED skin, throat swollen, heart pounding....

It was all over in 30 minutes. So I'm alive! Yay! :yay:

Evidently, I'm a tad allergic to Niacin which this 4 oz. fitness drink was packed with.

GOOD MORNING

Hi, LittleBlue22. Hi everybody.

I hope this week will be less busy for me. I was doing 12+ hour days last week in front of the computer, so the last thing I wanted to do in my free time was look at the computer some more. So, I saw that Twinkie got moved OK and saw a few other bits of news, but am pretty out of touch. I hope to check in more regularly this week.

We had a nice Father's Day. This is the first time Lowell's kids picked out a card for him themselves, and they paid for our dinner, which was a big surprise. Daughter # 1 is working full time now. Hss son who is two years older than her is still a senior (perpetually a senior) and may or may not graduate this year! ARGH. This is his last try. Then he must face the world, graduated or not, ready or not. Daughter # 2 has her share of emotional problems (panic attacks etc) but seems to be doing better. Lowell teases me and says if I had been their mother they would have turned out better. I'm not so sure! I enjoy Lowell's kids, but there are times I am glad I never had any. I'm sure I'd have a lot more gray hairs if I'd had kids!

Cats are safer :rotfl2:

Best of luck with your house then. MommyP!

Finished my nap, have to finish laundry now, ugg! and find something for diinner.

Guess what I am watching on TV now? Murder she wrote! MommyP, were you even alive when that was on TV?

I remember watching it with my parents when I was young. I always loved that show. That and Matlock.

I have laundry to fold and then it's off to my Mom's for a pool day. I might just hide the laundry and fold it tomorrow. Or never. Why can't I just have a big bin with all the boys clothes. After I wash it I dump it in there and they can dig out their clothes. :rotfl:

Chad's supposed to be calling someone about financing today. Hopefully we can get it through the same people we had our old mortgage. They have a supsidy program. So based on number of kids and amount you make they will pay a portion of your mortgage. Then at the end of your 30 years you have to pay it off. Not all at once though, then the house is yours. It's a nice safety net for construction workers. If work slows down you send your new pay and they change your payment. The only draw back is they only get a certain amount of money each year and they get it in Nov. So they might be out for the year. That and most of the people who work there are idiots. ;)

OKay, I am off. Have a good one everyone!

Morning All,

They say we are in for another hot day....Good day to stay in the air conditioning then.

UMA-- That sounds pretty scary.:scared1: Did you know you had that allergy? I guess you don't take multi vitamins then.

Yes it is really slow in the summer here. Maybe we should wish for snow so everyone will come back.:rotfl:

Like Moo !!! We missed you last night.

Kay-- you are so right about cats been safer. Funny part is I tried so hard to have mine and everyone would say I bet you so happy all the time since you finally have them. Some days when stress of it all gets you... I say" what was I thinking". Then feel bad for thinking that.... because people say I a so lucky and should be happy. After saying all that I love my kids to death. And the good days out do the bad that is for sure.

Little Blue-- T.J. must be growing like a weed. Is he still having reflux problems? You were up late last night.

I do take multi vitamins with no problem. The amount of Niacin in those energy drinks is HUGE. It's the amount that gets me. This is only the second time it's happened to me. Both times involving energy drinks with insane amounts of Niacin. This info is based on the Poison Control Center telling me that a lot of people have niacin reactions from energy drinks. They said it is a short lived reaction and it was.

I may want to avoid energy drinks, eh?

MommyP- I've seen some shows on families with either multiple births or just a BUNCH of kids and it is a great solution to just have bins of clothes marked things like "Boy 4T" in the laundry room. Still fold the clothes but it saves the step of putting away in 3 or 4 different rooms. The forage-for-clothes solution may just work especially since you're having a new baby!

UMA-- I don't think you need the energy drinks anyway do you. You always seem like you have lots on here.:lmao: You have bubbly personality that is for sure.

I never tried energy drinks, don't think I will now ....

Wash is never ending, and now it since it is hot we change more. I have to get Hannah to stop changing her clothes three times in a day though. :headache:

UtahM: Glad you are still with us! Mental note: niacin in large quantities is a no no.

Nab: SNOW? no way. I love summer. I promise to post more...no snow!

MommyP: The big bin of laundry. Sounds like a great idea.:rotfl:

Kay: Maybe I should have had 4 cats instead of 4 children? Then I certainly wouldn't need MommyP's big bin of laundry.

LBlue: I am ashamed to admit I was sleeping at the time of your post. Next time just call me, and I'll get up and post with ya!

Today is dd's birthday. She is sleeping late-ish. Last night she was so sweet, she said "You know mom, maybe you should get a present or something too. After all, you went through all those hours of labor to deliver my fat baby self." I told her that she was all the present I needed. HALLMARK MOMENT. *sniff sniff* (Dontcha wish every moment could be that way?)

I'm having trouble getting started this morning. Perhaps I need a Diet Coke to get me going.;) Hopping into the shower. Have a good morning!

NAB- If it's a teacher you dislike, give her something with an apple theme or with the words "A+ Teacher" or a mug (with apples and A+ Teacher?)

If it's one you liked, a Gift Certificate to a restaurant? Or cookies? Do you have Mrs. Fields there? I'd love a tin filled with treats or something similar. Good Luck!

babyn - Awwwww! On the daughter's labor comment! How sweet.

Meet -
I am going to have such a hard time referring to people.
Moo will be Moo (although I usually remember her real name)
Nab - Who is Debbie? I only know Nab. Even though it's at the bottom of EVERY SINGLE POST, I still forget!
Utah - Utah or Wendy. I never even call her Utah Mama in my head.
MommyP - MommyP or her real name. I have it down pretty good.
Marita - Marita. Does she even have a username?
Does Syd have a real name?
You guys will have no problem with Tammy - you all already call her that.
Me, I answer to Amber, Celery, yo stupid, disney freak, whatever.
:)

If Twinks went? No clue what her real name is! She'd just be twinks.
WT? Same thing. Does he have a real name?

We start our 9 week foster parenting class in July! Woo!
So it doesn't look like we'll have a kid placed by the time the meet rolls around, but we have permission to steal Jeanie for the whole time.
My mom says we're crazy because we WANT to take a 2 year old to Disney for 11 nights.
She said we won't have a chance to do any adult things, but the only thing we'd want to do is go to the Adventerurer's club, and we'd already decided not to because of the extra cost.
I need to look up height restrictions to see what she can and can't ride.
Oh yeah - crystal and mike are planning on taking Anthony out of school for two days - so they will be there a little bit longer than a weekend! Woo!
Now back to work for me.

Hello Mooers!

UMA- scarry about the energy drink. Glad you are better now.

Yes, children add so much drama to your life that's for sure.

Oh gosh I 'll take snow today. Our a/c crapped out. We have a friend working on it, but its been soo hot in the house it makes you want to melt. I've been looking out the windows thinking it looks like its going to rain any minute.

Yep, I was up late last night with TJ.:
th_cartooncow.jpg

:guilty: Grandma's coming soon and her body is on pacific time, so maybe she'll take TJ while she's here during the late night so I can get a couple days of good rest. :cloud9
Speaking of Grandma, my countdown is getting lower and lower. So....

I must, I must, I must decrease the dust  I must, I must, I must decrease the dust

Have a wonderful Monday all :woohoo:

Little Blue-- get the kids to help you dust. Glad your Mom is coming to help out. You need to get some rest.

And no air conditioning ..... Hope you have a least some fans. Hubby wanted to sell ours in the yard sale but I wouldn't let him just for that reason.

Celery -- You can call me Nab. Hubby did when he asked Twinkie if she was looking for me.:rotfl:

Last edited by NAB : Today at 01:20 PM. Reason: Poly are you knee deep in laundry too....we want to here about your trip.

Hey Nab!

Not too much laundry. Girls took care of theirs while we were away and I did some yesterday and today. all caught up now.

the trip was one of the best. It was so wonderful, I'd cancel our August WDW trip if it weren't for the facts that we already have our air, APs and a friend of the girls is joining us and has her tickets.
It was so good, I may ,hold your hearts, skip the Polynesian next year. Well, maybe do a short December visit. Our suite was spectacular- 640 sq ft, with a 160 sq ft verandah. We had a butler and concierge. They treated us like royalty. Bob and I kept looking at each other and breaking up. The butler, Naveen, served us breakfast every morning and dinner on 4 evenings. They had a special suite breakfast menu and we ordered from that. for dinners, Naveen would bring the menu from the different restaurants and we'd order from those. since this was a smaller ship, there weren't a lot of activities during the sea days. We spent a lot of time relaxing on the verandah. We were given 4 bottles of liquor/wine, including an expensive champagne. We don't drink,so we gave the wine away to a couple we met on the ship and brought the liquor home to give away to my brother.
Bermuda was beautiful. We did two excursions and explored some on our own. We bought a transportation pass and got to use the ferry and the buses. The buses were an experience! The drivers in Bermuda are nuts!Though for sure the bus driver was going to run over a bicyclist riding in front of us. Later that evening,we saw t-shirts that said" I survived the pink bus". we definitely should've bought one!
I have photos if anyone wants to see the shots of the suite/ship.. I don't have photoshop, etc, so pm me your email address and i'll send them to you.
