I just got back.

Here's a recap:

You sign in at the Improv...you go downstairs where they have some drinks (water, soda)

You get a number at that point.

Soon you are lead into the improv theater where there is a small buffet set up: mini sandwiches, chips, chicken wings cheeses, crackers, fruit and more drinks.

Soon the presentation starts... "DVC" came out (a woman dressed in a wig lot's of make up, terrible voice) told jokes etc. I though this part was awful.

3 guides presented some information...they did a good job.

If you buy 110 points: (I am not a 100% clear..I believe they said Sept Oct., Dec use years)

SSR $10 off plus matching developer points 12 months to use them
AKV $8 off plus matching developer points 12 months to use them

If you buy 160 points
SSR $10 off plus 240 developer points 12 months to use them
AKV $8 off plus 240 developer points 12 months to use them

If you by 200+ points
SSR $10 off plus 400 developer points 12 months to use them
AKV $8 off plus 400 developer points 12 months to use them

SSR points would have 06 use year with the banking deadline waived

I hope that makes sense.

The store was very nice...the models looked great.

Everyone got a goodie bag...mouse ears, a pocket organizer you hang on a door knob, button, pin, magnet luggage tag.

My guide was actually there! I was happy to finally meet him...I am not sure how it happened...but we ended up buying AKV points! :):)

Let me know if you have any questions...

Hi Kristine. My son and I were there too. Wasn't it hot!!! I'm sure they'll get that straightened out.

No luggage tags for us but that's OK.

I was a little ticked though as we neared the doors around 12:40 or so with a CM. Another one approached us in a near panic and said not to go outside to the entrance to the Improv as they were not going to open the doors until 1pm. So we wandered a bit and returned a few minutes before 1:00 only to find lots of people inside already. We ended up in group 7 so had to sit in the hot theater through more of Miss DeeVeeCee.

I'm sure those are the kind of little kinks that will be quickly worked out.

Photo ops too BTW.

Welcome home to AKV BTW.:cool1:

I was appalled by how hot it was!!

The exact same thing happened to us! By the time we got back, they were out of water in the 1st room...and we had group 8!

Was it me, or did you think that her act was not very good?

I didn't enjoy her act either. I thought we were a tough audience.:rotfl2: Maybe if it had been more comfortable.:confused3

The only thing I though funny was when she asked how many could sleep in a 2BR AKV. The young lady answered 8 and Miss DeeVeeCee said that's right....9.:rotfl:

I'm sure it will get cooler as the event goes on. Did you notice they were pumping hot air out of the theater. At least we got to leave. THe poor CMs that are stuck there, smiling gamely away. It must especially be hard on the characters.

I was told the AC broke last night and that the Improv was supposed to have it fixed by this morning...

all in all, I think they did a decent job...although it was not what I had expected

Ah, that explains the heat. I could feel cool air coming into the theater so perhaps it is fine even as we type.

I was also there. The heat was so bad. I walked out with two guys that were leaving. They said to the CM at the door that the AC if fixed and you should feel it in an hour. Miss DVC was bad, what a waste of time she was.

Here's a few pics that I snapped:

I guess I'm getting used to Ms. DeeVeeCee's act as she doesn't annoy me as much as she used to. We first saw her at Member Homecoming, then at the Bon Voyage Party for the 2005 Member Cruise and then last year in the terminal at the 2006 Member Cruise.

We were at the 6 pm presentation and managed to get group 1 so we were in and out pretty fast after the store visit. Didn't stick around for charcter photos or any of the trivia.

Here's my DH Mark with DeeVeeCee

brings shivers down my spine :rotfl:

I had never seen her before...but the voice alone is WAY too much

I agree. And I just don't get it. Is that the way DVC views those of us who are DVCers and "of a certain age?"

I just got back.

Let me know if you have any questions...

They are offering you both money off and the developers points?? I'd take that any day! I'm calling my guide on Friday to do the deposit and have them send out the paperwork.

It is only available to those going to the previews if I understood correctly. But yes, it was both incentives. I had teased my DH that I would add on of the incentives were good enough. I was tempted.;)

To be honest, I am not sure if it was only for those attending the previews or not....after awhile, I was on total information overload....I'd definitely call & ask your guide. I really had no intention to buy...but the double devolper points sucked me in.

Did you notice we received nothing in writing about the incentives?

hmmm...I thought we missed something. Right after they called group 1, we went to go fill out paperwork.

Oops, I just pulled out the thing we were handed as our group was called. The guy handing them out didn't seem eager to give me that either.:rotfl:

Anyway, it does say dream dollars of $10/SSR or $8 AKV AND "complimentary vacation points." "Receive use of a Complimentary one-time allotment of Vacation Points equal to the amount purchased or more."

Wasn't it something like buy 110, get 110, but 160/ get 160?, buy 210 points, get 400? Anyway it does say the points must be used within 12 months of contract date and may not be booked more than 7 months prior to checkin.

Kristine, you got to leave as soon as group #1 was called.....lucky you!

110 get 110 (matching)
160 get 240 (1 & 1/2 dev points)
200+ get 400 (double)

we just got up and looked for our guide after group 1 was called

Interesting to hear everyone's impressions...

Just a question...

If it was 'information overload' for experienced DVC'rs how do they ever expect potential new purchasers to understand anything?
