Yes Disneydad, that was a great update and two great stories of mini trips. I loved all the pictures and it brought back memories for me. I went snow tubing in the pocono mtns in PA when we lived there and it was a blast.

I also went to the Pennsylvania 500 and the Pocono 500 when I lived in the pocono Mtns in PA. I had a good time there too.

Thanks for sharing all your pics, they were really good!

I Would Love to go to The Pocono 500!!!!

& thank you!!!

Hey disneydad! Thought I'd check in to see what's going on in your thread. I love visiting the mountains of NC and TN. I've never been to Sapphire Valley, but I see that it's close to Highlands, NC which is one place I've been wanting to visit (after seeing some photos someone posted in another forum). We visited the Smokies three years ago and instead of staying in Gatlinburg as we normally do, we decided to stay in Maggie Valley, NC instead. Not as much to do there as in Gatlinburg, but it was nice to escape the TRAFFIC of Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge. It's also closer to the Blue Ridge Parkway which we drove from Cherokee to Asheville. BEAUTIFUL!!!

Last fall, we visited Big South Fork on the border of TN and KY (north of Knoxville) and Cumberland Falls (we got to see the moonbow over the falls...very cool). Then we drove through Cumberland Gap and through Viriginia to see the fall color along the Mount Rogers Scenic Byway (the closest place where the colors were at their peak at that time--early October) and also visited a great historic town--Abingdon, VA.

We're planning to head back to the mountains this fall but haven't decided where to go yet. We've visited Helen, GA a couple of times in the last few years and enjoyed it, but I always like to discover new places (within a few hours of Birmingham) that we've never been to before. Any suggestions?

And Chattanooga ROCKS (this message brought to you by Rock City...LOL)!

I Love Rock City!!!....Been to Helen a bunch of times...Hmmm I may Need to post our Honeymoon Trip!!!!....& I am doing a Mini-Trip report on Gatlinburg pretty soon!!!

I know, I know I saw it finally. I had to go back and catch up and found your promise to update before I found your actual update, sorry, I apologize DisneyDad, please don't put me in the dungeon!

OK but don't let it Happen more than 6 or 7 More times!!!!! :lmao:

:thumbsup2

LMAO! Great update! The tubing looked like so much fun...I just wish I didn't despise the snow so much...I always stay in doors during winter and cold times.

My favorite pic had to be the girls in the monument you all built with the little girl that finally got to master it--WITH DISNEYDAD!. You're so smart! HAHA

Thank You He say's Blushing!!!

Ok everyone, we've all had those questions on employment applications or had them asked to us in person during our interview. We all hate being put on the spot and it's so hard to think when put on the spot like that.

First of all, Sharkey post the questions they asked you that was so difficult and hard to come up with a perfect answer for.

Secondly, everyone....think about these questions and how you would answer them in the same situation.

Third, let's all copy and paste them into our word or word perfect program and keep that for our own reference. We can then change the words around a little to reflect our own previous jobs and our own situations.

Then we can study them so that when we have an interview we are prepared for those questions. Of if we get an application to fill out at home, we can use that as our guidelines.

What do you think everyone? it will help us all to have taht information at our fingertips!!!

Thanks for your help and suggestions (in advance) everyone!!!! :grouphug:

Sounds Like Fun I Interview alot of People for Jobs with My Company & I would Be interested to see ya'lls Responses!!!!!

The tubing looks fun! And that monument was pretty darn cool.

What bald spot? :confused3

:rotfl2:

You Are so Sweet

I just want to say in order to get through this report I have your report up on 2 separate windows, DD....and I am toggling back and forth...while I wait for the reply box to come up on what i'm replying to in one window, I am starting to read the next page on the next window. I'm trying to be as efficient as possible, while reading every post and commenting on the ones I decide to comment on, while helping DD stay #1, while upping my post count in the process! :thumbsup2

I about Fell In the Floor Laughing At this!!!!

Storytime....When I interviewed for the job I have now, it was only about a month before my wedding  and I did say that "I'm getting married" but I don't think I told them when. I was hoping that once they made their decision they would want me to start at the end of November (got married Nov. 18th). I think they called me less then week later, and offered me the job. They told me to take the ritual drug test and once they were sure I had passed (they knew I would..but of course just policy), they would call and let me know so we could discuss a start date. Once that happened, they asked me when I could start, I told them how I had my honeymoon coming up in less than 3 weeks, and said I wanted to give my current employer 2 weeks notice, so I could start then but that would leave me starting work like 8 days before my wedding. Or I could start after I get back from the honeymoon. So they were completely cool with whatever I wanted to do but suggested I start after the wedding. So I gave my 2 weeks and 2 days notice (something like that) and worked up until a week before the wedding, tacked on my remaining vacation pay to the end, and ended up with a whole week before my wedding to get all last minute things done and RELAX a little bit. It was weird starting a new job only a few days after my honeymoon, but I didn't have to go through the name change process here (which I hear is grueling and your name NEVER gets completely changed in the system). So I am happy with my decision. Gosh I didn't realize my story would be that long! :confused3

Not Too Long .....Just Right....Great Story!!!!! :thumbsup2

"19th tie...MissMichelle 20 Posts! aka Michelle...I love your Posts...You are My angel!!...so Thank You!!!! Alot!!!"
AND
"Come One Come All,3 trips rolled into 1 (with photos)
MissMichelle Does a Great Job with this PTR..Ya'll Need to go over there Soon!!"

I just want to say AWWWW and thanks!!!!! I wish we were going to be in the world at the same time--you are so great and it would be awesome to meet you and the family. I think the "evil" is a front. hehe

Thanks for the plug at my trippie...I am so close to my take off and then I'll have to come home to 1,000's of emails (if your TR keeps going the speed it is! LMAO) and start back in. I am glad you have hung in there with me through it so far. I have some really awesome new *friends* here on the DIS and I couldn't be happier with the ones I've got.

So there is my mushy post of the week. I'll try to keep that to a mimimum. hahaha

That's a good company and I do so want to see you get that one, so everything is crossed for you. I hate those kind of questions and I hate that they sit there and stare at you waiting for an answer. Just give it to me on paper, put me in a private room and let me answer these questions, then let me give you the paper to read. I never do well with those questions. They aren't yes or no questions and you had a good rapport going and you made them laugh so let's hope that they want someone normal, not a stodgy person who can answer those questions without being flustered. (If any of you can do that I mean no offense, lol). I am sure they will like you for who you are and your resume and references speaks volumes.

Good Luck on the interview at the Ins. Company also, what is that now, next week? I forget!!!

Thank you:goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes

I got a call today frm the insurance company and that interview is on Thursday at 10am.

Then, I called the temp agency back as it has been over a week with no call or anything.

They have a possible part time position right near my son's babysitter at a pyschologist office......

But, she was a little concerend about my excel experience and even said my word score was "Not Bad!":rotfl2:

I just had not used word in a while when I took that test..but I still passed...

Anyway, she going to email a excel tutorial and then a test and the word one again and see how I do..

Mmmm....I LOVE cheeeeese! I had a bunch of different cheeses at Hot August Night on Friday...they all tasted so good with the wine. So did the watermelon and grapes....I'm salivating just thinking about it!

I love cheese, too!!!

Mmmmmmmmmmmmm......

I still have some veggies and dip in fridge..might have some in a bit....:cool1:

Hm...

I am not sure If I can remember them:rotfl2:

1. What are your objectives in life? How are you making sure you stay on the right path to accomplishging your goals?

2. Name a situation in a past job where you went above and beyond to make a customer's experience more pleasant than it had to be.

3. Have you ever had a bad experience with a co-worker? how did you handle it?

4. Name a situation where you had to find a way around something to get what you wanted accomplished.....THIS WAS MY STUMPER

That is all I can think of...

LOL didn't even think of THAT! :rotfl2:

Those are great pics and this one in his "limo" is my favorite. I just love the look on his face!

that is what I here for..Calling it Like I see it..:lmao:

Thanks....I just went back and looked at that expression....:goodvibes

:cool1:

I hear ya there...my DSister did that @ her job. I thought it was so tacky that she was only working there for a few months and then took off so much time. Ugh! I could never do that. That's why my DH and I haven't had a vacation in over 2 years! He started his job last year so we didn't want him to try and take off time being so fresh there.

 thanks for keeping your mouth closed but I'm sure you can figure it out since you've been keeping up with me and one other's thread :rolleyes1 I'm gonna be announcing it here soon on my thread since things are getting more planned with that one thing. The other I'm still waiting on

I plan on using the list that came in my passporter to help me pack. They thought of everything!!

:lmao: HILLARIOUS!! I guess you're not a LOYAL pepsi drinker Trentmom, now are you!? :rotfl:

:scared: I'm not sure how I'm keeping up but lately it's been pretty easy for me. :confused3

:rotfl2: thanks for that. Lord knows I NEED the help :rotfl2:

thanks for the tip!! At least now I know that I'll be able to run out and grab whatever I forget at a decent price.

;)

I bet you are more than ready for this vacation to start after 2 years with nothing:cool1:

I definitely need that map for sure....I have no idea where anyhthing is other than the basics...california, nevada, washington, florida, Georgia, Louisiana, New Jersey, Texas and a few others....LOL

Yes, I have been following a certain thread and yours and have put two and two together.

But I am not sure about what the other thing is you have planned...so I will be lookfing for it.:cool1: :cool1:

I was going to say that...but I decided not too...hahaha

:rotfl2: yeah...NICE MAPS!

I hope you get it! And more importantly I hope it's a job that lets you have DISing time! :rotfl:

I am glad they were ok with your planned vacation. Storytime....When I interviewed for the job I have now, it was only about a month before my wedding  and I did say that "I'm getting married" but I don't think I told them when. Yes, Dising time is very important!! Maybe I should have asked them about how they feel about me playing on the interent??:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Awesome story.....that must have been strange, like you said, comimg back to a new job a week after your honeymoon.......but glad it turned out well:goodvibes :goodvibes
