If you could have another career, what would that be? Give us your list of top 20 and then stop there, Dennis, my man of many interests! :lmao: ;)

Well, I have done quite a few already. LOL. Not really careers though. I like any of these:

Commercial Photography
Musician
Avionics Engineering
Computer Science
Linguist
Pro Quarterback

Or a swimsuit model in :scared1: a Lime Green Speedo!!! (oh where is that picture???? :lmao:

And we Pisces folks are more than happy to indulge you! ;)

& us Leos will just lay around and appreciate it all (ever wonder why the lions at AK never move???)

Thanks Deb! I'm working on it! Just got some good news in the mail. I'll be adding $200 more on my cruise balance on Monday, then I'll only have $800 more to go! And if Tyler's dad contributes, and if DCL is willing to extend me until 2/15, that would take care of it.

Keep going Holly!!! Check the couch and the car for change... you'll do it!!!

I'm English. We're born already knowing all this stuff! ;)

You can tell them if they are doing it right!:lmao:

Now ladies... try not to pee the Princesses off!!! princess: princess: princess:

that's sad :sad1:

If they are ok with a glass glass then let them use it. I figure if they earn the right then they have it for life..Molly uses plastic....

it's weird. At school along with all the normal things you think of they do teach them how to pour, use utensils....etc.....in Samantha's mind (I think) at restaurants, we - John and I - always get a water and it comes in a GLASS. That is big time to her. I have traded with her tons of times.......:rotfl: Haley follows along, but tonight she just looked so dejected, John brought our drinks to the table and the shirley temples were in a glass like our drinks, I think it meant something!

Ohmigosh ... I just noticed that noone is currently planning Door Tag (unless I missed something, and if so, please let me know). :thumbsup2

I am definitely happy to take the lead on this. Do you all want to play??

In case you haven't played DIS DoorTag ... someone (me in this case) makes up a Door Magnet and then "tags" the door of one other DIS member, who "signs off" and then "tags" another .. and so on. When the magnet is completely filled in (everyone has been tagged), you return in to my door. I will then switch to magnet number 2 ... we can try to get thru several magnets (with so many sea days, we should set a high goal). The kids ... and the kids-at-heart ... all like this one as it is hilarious to see everyone running back to the room to "check" for the doormagnet, the run down the halls to place it as quickly as possible. :rotfl2:

I would have prizes for everyone (delivered by my crew to each fish extender or door) after each magnet has been completely signed off.

What do you think? Do you want to play?? :woohoo:

:tinker: Karen

Never played this before but like I keep saying I wanna do EVERYTHING! Count me in.

Apologies if this has already been posted.

On ebay a couple of people are advertising fish extenders, actually calling them fish extenders. One does mention Disney, but doesn't really explain. The other doesn't explain at all. Anyone who comes across them while looking for, presumably, fishing supplies must really be confused! :confused3

They are probably very disappointed when they find out it doesn't make the fish they caught longer for the picture to show the guys at home.

Hey Woody - just to be nosey - who are you sailing with? My DH always walks by when you post and he swears it's his buddy from Canada....I try to tell him.....he won't listen!

wow - do you have any pics??! I bet she is soo cute!

My Haley will just not gain weight...she is 22lbs at 3! I am wondering what her ped will say at her well check up...probably not much, he maintains if they are eating???!!!

Gretchen, my youngest, was always very small as a tot. I am not too sure, but I know we waited and waited for her to break 40 pounds.....like about 3rd grade.

She is in 6th grade now and weighs about 55 pounds....

Don't worry, I don't think I have ever heard of 2 little girls who eat as good as your kids do!:cloud9: :cloud9:

Lisa - they are awesome eaters...on girls night out at Olive Garden Samantha orders chicken with veggies and the waiter always says --- are you sure you don't want fries?? Same tonight!!
I had crab legs and both girls had that on the kids menu but got shrimp.....we ended up trading!

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

OK DDDD+D team...I have PM'd you with our PPoA (Palo plan of attack).
For dinner, where I mention formal/semi formal...include Pirate and Mexican nights in with those. I think I was in brunch mode when I wrote that section, but wasn't sure if we wanted to avoid port days. Get ready for the longest PM you've ever received!

Jackie are you a Virgo?:goodvibes

Pj

Ok on my way to dinner, I get to pick everyone up, I am the DD, as I don't drink.

Pj

Now how am I going to ply you with all the drinks I owe you if you're going to be the DD on the ship!!!

I was just telling DH how funny it would be walking past all you DISers into the dining room WITH MY PURSE!! Now that would be perfection!

I actually called the manager at the Nordstrom at the Mall of American a little while ago...I'm not sure anything will change but he will look into it. It does seem a little strange - I still had the plastic on the zippers and everything. :confused3 But truly, the BEST thing would be to keep the purse, go on the cruise, and have a DOD with everyone....including HOLLY!!!

Lisa

Careful... that purse could be considdered your 3rd piece of luggage!!!

I just wish I had their metabolism!!!

I know the super bowl is coming up...but since I really don't like either team I am not to in to it. No offense Deb - I do love Peyton and think it would be great if Eli could have something his own.

It's funny, college is one thing, but John has been a die hard Raider fan since he was a young boy. He ran (track) because of OJ. He asked his dad at a young age what he needed to do to be like him and his dad told him to run, do push ups, sit ups, etc....and he did well running...and back then - they would not let you do multiple sports. (he had a scholarship to UNC and came home after one semester because of the cold and then went to UF)

If you have seen pics of our stained glass window by our front door (a Gator and a Wahoo) the same guy who did that also painted a water color of OJ running his 2032 (DH says) rushing yard. It's a great painting.....but I am not sure where to hang it anymore.

Hello Everyone:

Not sure if I have posted on here for this cruise or not but wanted to say hello. As the date gets closer it seems to be coming more of a reality. We have cruised with DCL already and are so excited to be doing the Panama Canal cruise. There are five of us going on this cruise. Myself, my husband and our three little girls (almost 7, 9 and 11 years old). They would be very interested in writing to other girls their own age if anyone out there is interested.

Unfortunately, I haven't read very many of the posts on this board. Not sure if there has been a discussion about the possible movies playing or not but we are interested in hearing if anyone knows what might be playing.

We got a call from DCL this past week asking if we were still interested in a category 3 room. We jumped at the opportunity. When we booked we could only get a category 4 room but really wanted a category 3. In December 2006, we did two back to back cruises. We had a category 3 for the first ten days of the holiday cruise and then had to switch to a category 4 for the next four day cruise due to availability. There was such a difference between those two rooms.

We have booked our shore excursions; however, the sea lion encounter is full so we could only get four of the five of us into that one. Sure hope another spot comes available.

Not sure of all the plans everyone has for this cruise but upon taking a quick scan of the postings it looks like there is a lot planned.

Take care and see you soon. We leave in three months today. We have rented a house in Florida for one week prior to the cruise and a room at the Grand Californian for one week after the cruise.

Steph:

4th grade is also a hard year for little girls. We had a bear of a year with Molly last year. I bet with the added issues with her dad it became really hard on her. Molly also has troubles in school. She has a very high intelligence and verbally she is off the charts, but she has great trouble with fine and gross motor skills. Which equates to horbile writing and therefore any task that invovles writing she is working was below her intelligence and grade level. Most of her teachers have worked with her (she is a teachers pet) since she is always happy and chatty, but I worry about her as she will of course run into those teachers that don't care about anything but the answers. She tests off the charts too when it's fill in the bubble so no luck in getting any kind of IEP for her. Oh well, that's life we just roll with it and tackle the conversations at the beginning of each new year and new teachers. Molly is also pyched about meeting Taylor. I know it will be a better trip for me if she has friends to hang with, so a bit selfish for me too. I'm sure you can relate.

WOW our kids will all have so much in common. Mine has some trouble in school as she just does not do well bouncing around. She has three teachers for third grade (5 if you count pe and music)as they each teach different subjects and have a little different style of teaching. I have paid a tutor from school for three times a week tutoring to keep her on level but the school does not provide extra help for her since she struggles each day........... then tests in the top few percent.
Her testing causes her to get no help and also to be labeled as a child who is not putting forth enough effort day to day, and who is not interested in school.

Math wise she scored 100% on her star testing but day to day in class she struggles. She will do one thing one day then not see it for two weeks and that just doesn't work well for her. Everyone learns better in different ways and I can assure you the way she is being presented with in school does not work for her.

When she was learning to read she could not follow what she was getting in class. The tutor taught her to read during her after school sessions as she tailored the sessions to my daughter's needs and style of learning.

I really hope it gets better as she gets older but I fear it will only get worse. I am thinking a private school with a different style of teaching is what it may come to.

Welcome! We booked the sea lions on our own a couple of weeks ago. The only thing that I want to book this Sat. is Palos. Hopefully I can get it!

Welcome Sandra:

We've got a yahoo group for the kiddos to "talk" on. If you'd like to add them drop me an email nskjerven@yahoo.com. I have a DD 10 & DS 8.

Also I'm working on the list of those who want lanyards. drop me an email on that too if interested. At this point we are looking at gathering a collection to pay for them, so if you can contribute please note that in your email too.

We have a website, you'll need to pm pj for that. Check page 2 for more details.

I gotta ask, how long were you on the wait list for the cat 3. I just added the request last week and I'm wondering how long the list really is???

:welcome:
