Please don't flame me, but there's really no point in watching for June/July discounts:confused3 We haven't seen one since immediately post-9/11 when the tourist industry in America bottomed out for a couple seasons. With the current value of the dollar worldwide, we're going to see a booming international tourist business, at least in the short term, and that means no need for special discounts or deals. Because we have to go in the summer (DS and DDs school schedules) we've found other ways to save money: VISA reward dollars, DDE dining discounts, staying at ASMo (which we dearly love:love: )....once they're both in college and get breaks in the off seasons, then we can take advantage of some awesome discounts. But peak season...no way!popcorn:: :surfweb: :cool2: princess:

You're probably right about no discounts, but most of us figure it never hurts to keep checking :-). I'm in the same boat as you, using my AAA discount for now since I'm stuck going during peak season because the kids are in school. I'm stuck waiting until they get to college - or until the school goes to a year-round schedule (that would give us some breaks during the value seasons).

I'm certainly not expecting, but hopefully it never hurts to keep our options open :-)

I was under the impression that codes did come out for June. Arg, this trip is really going to cost me then. I was sort of counting on the discount. Oh well I better work some overtime or something :) I'm not going to change my reservations in any case. This will be me and my girlfriend's first trip to WDW together. I want the trip to be special.

edit.

OK I did a little research. Seems like there has been an AP discount for June but for Deluxe rooms only. I have current reservations for Coronado Springs. If these discount for the Deluxe room come out and the reduced price for say the Wilderness Lodge is equal to the Coronado springs regular rate, we may be splitting our stay. Seems only logical to pay the same price and get an upgrade to a deluxe hotel.

Don't really plan to go in June, but got a $25 airfare to Orlando last June and took an uplanned trip. So ya just never know.

I don't want to be rude but I was wondering what % of a discount you got with AAA for June. I booked June 1-6 and the guy told me i could only get a 10% discount with AAA. It said 15% on Mousesaver. I know I didn't get a 15%. I did the math and it didn't add up.

Thanks!

There were AP discounts in June and July last summer - if you check at mousesavers.com historical discounts they are listed.

I believe there were also, but remember that they were only at a couple of DVC resorts and delux EPCOT resorts. No monorail resorts, moderates or values in June. In July they added a few moderate resorts. They were very slim pickings. However in August pretty much everything was available. June and July are getting to be a high season now and resorts getting pretty much booked up without discounts. There's no incentive to Disney to discount a resort when all of the rooms are booked up. With the this last round of AP discounts ending on 5/20, I'll be surprised to see what is next. The past 2 summers the release of AP discounts was not too generous. I hope folks have a plan B just in case history repeats itself. We have been sticking to August because of the higher rates in June and July.

Ten percent was what we got as well - better than nothing, I guess. When I asked if that rate was correct for AAA, the CastMember just chuckled and said that online sources weren't always 100% gospel.

I put the June 1-6 dates in at the AAA website and didn't see anything better than 10%. I only looked at the value resorts. The only one that had even a 10% discount was All Star Sports. The other three were rack rate.
