that "mickey cake" looks so good, but since it will be only DH and myself, i only wish it were smaller (although leftover cake for breakfast is tempting...)

I have seen posts of "Mimi Mickey" cakes on the thread. I hear they come from the Boardwalk Bakery. Not sure how many they make and how often they have them, but they do from time to time.

I've been looking through the pages of cakes trying to find something cute for my daughter for her 11th birthday. She loves Cinderella and I was thinking about getting one with the castle, is it only available in white chocolate? I would like to see in made out of sparkly sugar or something pretty :)* We will be eating dinner at Liberty Tree Tavern for her bday, where do I call to have the cake there for our dinner. Thanks so much :goodvibes

To get the cinderella castle or the slipper, you must be eating at a GF restaurant, or staying there, I believe, because these are made by the GF bakery. And the only thing I have ever seen the castle done in is white chocolate. For the LTT I would call the cake hotline and ask what is available. Good Luck!

Welcome aboard! I think that you only have a choice of chocolate or vanilla. My family is full of chocolate nuts, so I didn't really ask about other options!:goodvibes

Happy Planning!

OT . . . momofdbsdca do you have 6 kids, HOLY COW, you rock, I have 2 and am pulling out my hair! You must really have it together, ROCK ON, what an awesome brood you got your hands full with. I am always amazed by moms that can manage multiple kids, I swear when i see them they look more put together, and on top of things than I do and I only have 2 little ones. :thumbsup2

GF called me back today. I've ordered our Anniversary cake for next Wednesday night. It's going to be chocolate cake with strawberry filling and white buttercream icing. It is supposed to have a mickey minnie bride/groom white chocolate topper. I'll be sure to take pictures and post them when we return.

i just needed some opinions. ive been wanting to get a cake for my mom for her birthday while in disney and i was thinking of doing a specialty cruise. i was just curious if i leave from the grand floridian for the cruise will the bakery deliver to the dock or is there anyway i can pick it up since it is private dining? thank you

Hi,

We did the Wishes cruise last September (25th anniversary). We'd eaten at Narcoossee's and had arranged for GF Bakery to deliver the cake to GF marina where we were picking up the cruise. Unfortunately, there was a terrible thunderstorm just before the cruise was to leave. The cruise was cancelled. The worst part was that no one could locate our cake :( GF promised to deliver a new cake the next day for our rescheduled cruise. However the next 2 nights the cruise was cancelled for dangerous lightning. We didn't get our cake (beautiful as it was) until 3 days after our anniversary.

The lesson we learned - always pick up your cake and bring it with you. That way you're sure that even if the weather doesn't cooperate, at least you'll have something delicious to eat :)

I am debating on getting a 8" cake for a surprise from my husband for fathers day. I am going to get the vaniall with white choc frosting, or I am going to get the mickey cake. They told me at the Poly the cake is either white or chocolate.

My other decision to make is should i have this the Friday night we eat at kona or should I have it our check out day at Ohanas for breakfast (which is actually Fathers day). When we leave we are driving to the beach. Would cake keep for 3.5 hours? Or on the other hand will it fit in the fridge at the poly if we got it friday.

I just ordered our Anniversary cake for our Celebration Wishes cruise. An 8 inch vanilla cake/vanilla frosting w/ Mickey/Minnie white chocolate topper and trimmed with red roses. Hopefully I will be able to post a pic. Now I have to pray that the weather will hold out for us because that is our last night in WDW and this is a surprise for DH.

Would love opinions from you that have had cakes more than one place. My soon to be adopted daughters bday is during our Dec trip. I have not scheduled her dinner for her bday yet. We are spending the day at MK. Would love opinions about where the best Princess lover cake is to be had? This is a special celebration for us as it will be both her first trip to WDW, but also her first bday celebration with us. :)

I ordered this through AKL in-room dining. It was $53 with the automatic 18% gratuity added. The AKL sign is very thick chocolate and the stand was also chocolate as was the elephant. My kids (2 & 6) didn't like the brownies but they were great. My DH loved the oatmeal cookies and we all enjoyed the chocolate chip cookies and the rest of the chocolate. It was good but not worth the money in my opinion.

Oh that is sooooooooo cute!! What a great option they have, but YIKES on the price!! I had a custom cake for less than that!

I know this is late but just thought I'd share. Done by GF bakery and was delivered to Citricos for dinner.

Thank you for sharing your photo! Can you tell us about your cake? What was it made of? Was it delicious?

Anyone order the MICKEY MOUSE HAND PIPED cake from the GF BAKERY and if so, could you share some pics and reviews on how it tasted. I saw one post about a Minnie cake from the GF Bakery and the lady said it was cute, but tasted horrible. She said it was chocolate, like German chocolate and it was gritty, etc. This really has me concered now because I ordered a Mickey one for my kids b-day celebrations at the 1900 Park Fare and now I'm afraid I've paid 40.00 plus dollars for a cake that is only going to look good but taste crappy. PLEASE HELP WITH PICTURES AND OPINIONS. THANKS!
