A few weird things we saw people do on our trip

:furious: What really creeps me out are men who blow their nose by closing one nostril then the other so that stuff comes out without a tissue. I am always behind them in line. And I know gross, I love being a wound care nurse.

...or the men who feel the need to spit every two steps that they make. Disgusting.

This happened to me back in Dec. 07 while walking back to my room at the GF. Well as I was walking past the main pool heading back to my room with some snacks and drinks I happened to look over towards the pool, and low and behold I saw this older lady stripping a young boy probably about 6-8 years old down butt naked. I mean his little wanker and everything was out RIGHT NEXT TO THE POOL FOR EVERBODY TO SEE. Oh and I might add the pool was full of young kids who were watching this little boy walking around butt naked around the pool. I was like :scared1: :scared1: :scared1:

Oh this reminded me!! Last month at Movies, at the Mighty Ducks pool, there was a family with a 2yo boy who was completely naked IN the pool and running around playing on the pool deck. His parents finally got him dressed, then the mom changed out of her swimsuit into her clothes under a (very small) towel! Hellooo the restroom is RIGHT there. I think the dad must have used it, because I didn't see HIM change. :lmao:

I think they were French (that's what it sounded like they were speaking), so I assume they didn't realize they were doing anything out of the ordinary? :confused3

:rotfl2:

The whole feet in the fountain thing doesn't bother me in the least. I just don't see the big deal. :confused3

What skeeves me out, though, is being at the resort pool with all the people (women especially) who will just sit on a chair without putting a towel down first. There's just a tiny strip of cloth between them and the chair and I just can't get that image out my head. :crazy2: :scared:

Oooh! I just thought of something similar here. What about girls with super short skirts who sit down? No towel because they are just walking through MK and we all know that thongs have become very popular. So basically naked who ha on the bench!:scared1: :lmao:

I had one thing happen when I was at the Studios Park a couple yrs ago. I came out of a stall to run into a BIG kid of about 13 or 14 yrs old in the women's room. He was looking around with a sh*t eating grin on his face...I was stunned. I know small kids come in with their mom's and I have no problem with that, but this kid was too big! When his mom came over to get him after she had washed her hands and he was just looking all around him, I told her he was too old to be in the women's room and should be going to the men's room. She replied that he was not old enough to go by himself! Now if she was afraid to let him go alone, or he had issues, she could have gotten a male CM to help her out, but that kid was defitinely aware he was in a women's room and enjoying it. He was way too old to be in there.

Now, see, my first reaction would be like yours. And then my next would be that he was a disabled child who really could not be left alone outside the bathroom without his Mom. I have seen that a lot actually, at places like the mall.

At the same time, I think more parents just need to teach their kids a little caution, and leave them outside the door more often. I have seen kids, not disabled, and older than they should be to be taken into the women's bathroom, because the parents are truly scared their kid will wander off with a stranger. I knew at a VERY young age how to watch out for myself, how to avoid strangers (while still being sociable), and to be able to ask for help when I need it. Isn't that "growing up in the real world 101"? You can't live in a bubble and/or keep your kids in there, too!

Aren't there companion bathrooms in all the parks ? I remember seeing them mostly at Epcot and thinking it was a pretty good idea.

Although IMO it's a little weird to have a 14yo boy in a woman's bathroom, what's he gonna see besides women washing and drying their hands?
It's not like we're out there peeing in the middle of the room...

WHat is SO wrong about a 2 yr old boy being naked in the pool?

Well.... I don't know if anyone else will find these interesting, but here goes..

Disneyland , circa 2000, Indiana Jones Ride.... We were in line to ride & this entire family , of shall we say non-English speaking folks, jumped the line behind us to head into the FP line. This of course got very interesting at the checkpoint...most of the party walked back but the older grandmother type did not...she argued & argued (not in English btw) ... finally she went around the corner & jumped into the regular line......as soon as we were past the FP guy, she jumped back into the FP line....guess the CM's had seen this before...b/c I eventrually saw 3-5 CM's blocking her way onto the ride & then leading her off... Just odd...sticks in my head because the lady was pretty old & frail looking, till she hiked up her dress & hopped between lines...

Blizzard Beach, circa 2001 - My kids were about 5 & 8.... we see this obviously European family..(very fair skinned to us Texans)...Mom has on a thong with a "coverup" bottom that isn't really doing its job...BUT the 2 little girls probably 8 & 10 are topless...needless to say my kiddos were like Whoa Mom.... that led to a little culture discussion.....

2007, Hall of Presidents, Gay days... no problem with gay days at all...BUT, big problem with people acting like morons.... When the George Bush animitronic came on the stage, the hissing, and "What about us?" comments etc from the crowd was HORRIBLE. Give me a break ...a little respect for the office... I tell you that made a horrible stereotype mindset for my kids....we've always taught them to respect our flag, our country, other people.... Hubby said he had ENOUGH & we got the heck out of MK for the day....

Now this just makes me want to throw up...ugh...I HATE when they do that! It gags me...oh...I going to be sick....

When we were at DAK in May, a woman held up a towel and her son changed behind it in line at Kilimanjaro Safaris. He was probably 10-11 yrs old. He changed his pants behind the towel. How do I know? The towel did not cover him up very much!:scared1: Andf I was not staring, I just ahppened to see it as I was looking around and thenm shifted my eyes elsewhere pretty quick. EEK! They were also speaking another language. Maybe folks from other countries don't have as strong a modesty issue as we have here in the US. Some Europeans I know have said to me that the Americans seem so uptight and modest and that is not the way it is in Europe in many places.

What is it with people changing their kids in public? Don't they know about the pervs out there? If I had children, I sure would not take their clothes off in public. It just does not seem right somehow. There are plenty of restrooms where one can go to change.

About the older boy in the bathroom. He did not *look* disabled, but then you never know, he could have had a learning disorder or Autism or such. And if he did not have problems at that time, then *mommy* taking him into ladies rooms with her everywhere will certainly cause some if she does not stop soon!:scared1:

I still think it was kinda weird to allow a 13-14 yr old boy in the women's room, he KNEW it was a ladies room from the looks he kept giving all the young ladies in there. SMILING real big the whole time:bitelip: . Looked to me like he KNEW he was in a place he should not be and feelng lucky about getting to get in there! I was just a little shocked to come out of a stall to almost walk right into him. I am 6 ft tall and this kid was probably 5 ft 5 or so and a big built kid, not a skinny little guy. Definitely NOT a little kid!

His mom was way over protective. I think she had issues...It was just strange to see a very tall, young man in the women's room. I am used to seeing litle kids with their mom's, no problem there. They can NOT go by themselves. This was different! And you know how your gut tells you that it *just ain't right*. :scratchin :rolleyes1

I agree with you, 14 year olds are too old to be going into the ladiesroom.
I have a 12 year old (mind you he is 5'9 1/2" tall) and he has been going to the men's bathroom for a few years. My son is not allowed to go into bathrooms that are not busy unless it's an emergency in which case I stand with my foot holding the door open and yell into him that I am standing in the doorway just in case there is some pervert hiding in there thinking he will be able to jump out at my son. If my son goes into a men's bathroom with other men coming and going I give him a certain amount of time and tell him if he isn't out by then, I'm going in - just the embarrassment of that happening makes him hurry (he says he is old enough now that I don't have to do that anymore but I still do it for my peace of mind ---and because it makes him hurry) As to the 2 year old in the pool naked, any child that is not potty trained is required to wear a swim diaper in the swimming pools.

Ah, the "Farmer's Blow". Very popular on the golf course as well.

I also put my foot in the door, when my son goes in a restroom and say "i am right here honey!!!" My son is nine, he has asked me to countless times to stop , claiming I am embarassing him.

I will never forget a terrible story from a California State Park campground/beach from 1998/2000ish on the news. An aunt took her 10yr old nephew to the mens bathroom and stood outside waiting. He never came out. When they went in and found him, he had been stabbed by an obviously unstable teen and ultimately died.

This story in the back of my mind makes me anxious about letting my 8 yr old go alone into men's bathrooms. He's at the age that going into the women's really bothers him. Fortunately, my husband can often be with him and many places (including WDW) have "Family Bathrooms" or "Companion Bathrooms" that are okay for both genders. I'm "careful" not to be too over-protective and give him independence in other environments, not the public mens bathrooms.

I've heard some moms have their sons count out loud while they're in there and know if the counting stops, something is wrong.
