SORRY FOR THE YELLING!!!

This morning I got up and the dog had pooped and peed all in the sofa and love-seat!!!!!:scared1: then I found my Iphone in pieces completely destroyed..:sad2: :sad2: :sad1: . no hope!!!

I do have plastic covers in the mattress, I took the covers out and washed them (they are drying now) but she's never done this before... so why was she so destructive:sad2:

If she does this again , she'll be out of the apartment:sad1: ANY ADVISE? WHAT TO DO? HOW TO TRAIN HER NOT TO DO THIS AGAIN?

BTW I do not know if she is still consider a puppy (9moths) she is a beagle/greyhound mix rescued from abusive owners....

Linnette

I've only had a dog do destructive things like this once - when she was going into heat. Is that a possibility?

Oh NO!! I can totally understand how frustrated you must be!!!

But, your dog is most definitely still considered a puppy!!! Many breeds don't stop chewing until they're 2 years old, or even more. I used to have to put Josie in her crate whenever I couldn't keep a close eye on her. So, she spent quite a bit of time in there. But, she didn't seem to mind too much and it kept me from strangling her. Do you have a crate?

HI,
I saw the cute Mickey Bracelets you made and was wondering if you sell them at all? Please PM me with the information. Thanks so much they are adorable!

Someone mentioned that she might be in heat....Now that I think about it Tinkerbell got really wild just before and while she was in heat. When Tinkerbell potties somewhere she isn't supposed to we show her what she did and tell her that is supposed to be done outside. She figured that word out reall quick. She now heads to the door when she hears us say Out or Outside. Or she could have done it because the covers were new and clean. For some reason when Tinkerbell was younger she used to pee or poo on my comforter for my bed everytime that I changed it and that would be right after she pottied outside. :confused3 That was really weird, because she slept in the bed with me and they are not supposed to potty where they sleep. I hope your covers come clean. Sorry to hear about the iphone :scared1: . Did you have insurance on it? If you do than they will replace it for the price of a deductible. to you for taking in an abused puppy. You are her angel on earth.

OT-- some pics of my kids. I haven't had time to sew them anything but the Walle shirts (and those pics won't come off my small camera ARGH!!). So here are some I took today.

Congrats on the lost tooth and those children are absolutely beautiful!

Last night he asked a ton of questions about the tooth fairy. He wanted to know EVERYTHING including where the tooth fairy took and kept the teeth she collected. I told him "the tooth palace". He was so excited that she had "drawn a picture of the tooth palace on his money" He is going to be disappointed when he finds out it is the Lincoln memorial.

My last dog did this when she was a puppy when she was jealous or feeling lonely. I had to keep her crated when I wasn't home, sleeping, or not watching her. She did outgrow it at about 1yr old, she was a black lab.

I had hoped that we could give the family tshirts (maybe matching, maybe not). My initial thought was that they could wear them all the same day, but who knows. As much as anything, it is an opportunity to give something to the mom and dad, and to the two older children that aren't interested in wearing customs. There is a DISign that is posted on the board that can be printed out onto a transfer sheet and ironed on to a tshirt. SO, basically, all that someone needs to do is get the shirts, print the transfer and iron on the design.

If you would like to get to the thread to take a look at the list, you can click the Big Give logo in my siggy.

Okay, I just PM'd you about this, I'm so sorry!

Yesterday was a nightmare for me. I had to have 3 neighbors help me get my dog in the car to get him to the vet. He is so sick. I am devastated he is my baby. Right now he is at the vet on IV they are not sure he will make it. My DH and my dd went to go see him last night. I had a long talk with my dd(8) about seeing him and she was very adamant she wanted to see him. So I let her. I couldn't go it was so hard seeing my baby like that yesterday. If the slow growing tumor he has (that they just found) isn't causing his runs once he gets a little stronger and stops having the runs he can come home and will probably live a few more yrs. If the tumor IS what is causing his problem then we have to do the hard thing. I am dreading everything.

Sorry to be such a downer but he is my baby. We are one of those families where the pets aren't just pets they are part of the family aka 4 legged kids. Him and his sister Daisy both sleep with me and my DH the puppies are kind enough to let us share their king size bed. Last night there was far too much room in the bed...

I completely understand your feelings for your baby. We feel the same way about ours. I'm sending lots of good vibes and prayers your way hoping that he gets better. Even if you do have to do the hard thing, know that it is the compassionate and right thing to do for your baby. It is the last way you can show him how much you love him by taking him out of his pain. I am crying as I am typing this because I know how hard it is to do that. Good luck and lots of :grouphug: .

 I feel your pain. I know how special those little guys can be. I was crying the other day when the thought the crossed my mind that one day Tinkerbell will pass on. I got to thinking about how special that little fur face has become to me and I couldn't bare the thought of losing her. I hope that your fur-baby gets better and will have many more years with you and your family.

I know it is so hard when they are family members. Hopefully you will have your sweet tinkerbell for many yrs.

Whenever I hear strange noises, I take everything out and oil it. After you oil it, sew on a scrap piece of cloth so the extra oil ruins that and not what you're sewing. HTH!

N clue how to oil it! I did take it apart and brush the dust off everything. I think I am going to take it in to a brother dealership for an estimate. Maybe I will get lucky and they can figure out it is nothing big.

Happy Birthday newbie and steph!!! :bday: party:

I am not sure but I did make custom Princess Brook and Castle appliques to put on pink store-bought dresses last year....is this what you are thinking of????

I did the castle with colored thread mostly since I had no idea how to do an applique at the time....Princess Brook was my first one
Looks GREAT!

Yes your puppy is still a puppy. I believe most dogs are considered to be a puppy until they are 2.

M daisy seems to chew pillows if I leave her out of the crate and I am not home and she just turned 2. Since you said your puppy was abused maybe she was nervous with the change of slip covers on the couch?

ROCKY UPDATE.

Please keep saying those prayers for him! DH just called the vet and he is doing better. no more runs but he won't eat bt they said that is to be expected. This has taken a lot out of him since he is so old (10 and a 100lbs dog so that is old) So if he continues to improve and he can keep stuff down we might be able to take him home tomorrow or monday!!!!!! I am not getting to excited yet because I am too scared to loose him still...

Thank you again for the support. So please go hug and kiss your pupkids for me. I have been all over my daisy mae since Rocky has been at the vet.

I can't wait to see pictures of your petti! What color are you doing?

It is pink with a dark pink ruffle. Miley is taking a nap but as soon as she wakes up I am going to take some photos to post. The ruffler made it so much easier and I think I might make another.
BTW, love the photos of the girls. I checked out the photo website and loved all the photos. Hope Riley is feeling better.

Thanks so much! Now I totally feel more able to participate!

It's fun, isn't it!
Younger than you and older than Heather. :)
Now, that's just NOT fair! That's quite a gap!

A beagle? My brother has a beagle. I can't stand that dog! He's totally out of control, or I guess I should say he is totally IN control, of the entire house! Yours is still a puppy, so I'm sure he will improve. That had to be so madenning though! :headache:

We are going to Dutch Wonderland in just a few weeks - probably August 4 or 5. We are going on our annual summer visit to the inlaws who live just outside York PA. If only you knew how ewxcited I am to go back to York (notice any sarcasm?).
I vaguely remember someone making Dutch Wonderland customs last summer. Does anyone remember who that was?
How long of a drive is that? You are near me so that has to be 5-6 hours??? 5-6 hours to see the inlaws? YIKES  Mine live next door and I try to go as many days I can without seeing them! ;)
York is about 7 hours for us - door to door - with one rest stop. It is a long drive and we only do it twice a year. Trust me when I say that is plenty of visiting with the inlaws. Unfortunately, they visit us here in MA 2-3 times during the summer.:scared1:

You could always visit me and the kids while you are here, it could make the trip more bearable. I would not want to visit here, there is not much to do really. I go to Baltimore alot because that is where all my family is. We moved to York beacuse of the housing prices and schools. I remember the customs too but can't remember who it was either.
The inlaws live in Red Lion. I may just have to visit with you.
You have to check out rockvale outlets! There are some great stores and there is a disney outlet!
Now I have to go shopping. I think I might be able to arrange a day out for just me while we are there.:)
well, with that being said, you can count me in to send 4 disney theme coloring pages to each family from here on out. Complete with stickers, magical wishes and LOVE     . Ive never looked at it like that, but I know my kids just enjoy gettin mail (no matter how big or small) Thanks for cheering me up. :thumbsup2
That is very sweet of you.:grouphug:

That's the one I remembered. Those look so cute. I am pretty sure I won't have time to create anything in the next 2-3 weeks so DD will have to wear a custom outfit non-specific to location/activity/meals.:)

I've been reading for a bit and you have all inspired me to try several things for my girls for our September trip.

I have a question for those of you who used ribbon for ties for sundresses.
How did you finish or treat the end of the ribbon so it wouldn't fray? My daughter wanted ribbon for a tie for her shirred sundress I made, but the ribbon frayed on its first test wear.

Any advice?

Thanks all
Julie

I used to use Fray Check (you can get it at Wal-Mart, Hancock's, etc) but I have now just been using my grill lighter. I hated having to wait for the Fray Check to dry.

You can use fray check (sold at Joanns, and Walmarts I think) or just do what I do and tie a knot in the ends:cutie:

You can use Fray Check, a lighter, or a wood burning tool (Hobby Lobby or most craft stores carry them and they aren't expensive).
