Praline3001 --now there's a cake worth the money! I wouldn't mind spending that for that much detail. And your son's reaction! I bet it was worth every penny! Amazing cake :)

The entire meal was so magical and something my family won't ever forget! I would do it again in a heartbeat!

Wow! That Pirate Cake was AMAZING! I think for what all was involved, $130 was very reasonable... I'm hoping my little cake, which I haven't yet ordered or finished deciding what I want on it, is $65 or less... *Crossing my fingers*

That pirate cake is AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!:worship: We will be celebrating our sons 12th birthday in September and I NEED to get that cake!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have read some mention of a monorail cake or topper. Are there any pictures of this? My son LOVES the monorail.

Can some of you please give me an idea of which restaurant I should get our cake at or if I should pick it up at the Boardwalk Bakery. Here's where we're eating:

CRT
Chef Mickey
Le Cellier
Sci Fi
Akershus
Teppan Edo
Crystal Palace

If I cannot decide what to do I may just go w/ the mickey head for Chef Mickey's. Thanks!

Unfortunately, since all the restaurants on your list but Chef Mickey's are inside the parks, your options are pretty limited.

Your best bet for getting something special like a monorail topper is to order the cake for a Grand Floridian restaurant, but there aren't any on your list. You could try calling the BoardWalk Bakery to see if they could do it, though.

Ok, I started w/ CRT and they couldn't do anything extra except add an image for $30! Yes, it is that much. Then I called the boardwalk bakery. I wanted to get a 10" covered in red fondant w/ black stripes or decorations and mickey heads. That would be $75. The same as CRT w/ one image. They charge $10 an image there b/c my other idea was an image of the castle and the monorail. I cannot imagine how they justify $30 for an image. After all of that I think we're just going to go w/ the mickey head at Chef Mickey's. I think my 5 and 2 yr will love it.

My DD had her 18th birthday at Citricos last night (7/29). We ordered this cake from Pat at the GF bakery. It is a 10 inch round cake, marble cake, chocolate mousse filling. I requested a whimsical, Mad Hatter type of theme (we couldn't actually afford the Mad Hatter cake at $140 and up). This cake was $90.

Wish I could make these bigger. If you want to see them better, go over to the DIS Photo Member Galleries and do a search on "Christine".

Is there a link somewhere to Boardwalk Bakery, which would list prices/options ?
And will they deliver to POP? All of our evening meals are at restaurants in the parks.
Thanks in advance,
Angel

No, there is no link to Boardwalk Bakery...all info available is within this thread and the photo threads or you can call them.

No, they will not deliver to POP. You can pick it up though.

Yeah, it sure would be nice if Disney had a website set up, but they have so many bakeries offering so many different options, it must be too hard to standardize the choices.

If it helps, here's what's on the cake-ordering sheet for the BoardWalk Bakery. Obviously, it doesn't list every possibility, so you should definitely talk to someone there if you want something not on the list.

For all the people who got the 'Mickey Head Cake', were you able to get that at a park restaurant (Like Liberty Tree), or is that a boardwalk exclusive? Thanks!

Edit: I searched and saw a few posts, people got them at Crystal Palace, so I assume LTT shouldn't be a problem. Just a few more months til i find out!

This is the second time for me ordering a custom cake, last time was 2007 and I ordered through Linda, I posted a pic on the old thread. We got an 8" vanilla cake with whipped cream frosting and strawberry and custard filling, it was absolutely the best cake we had ever tasted!

So I know things have changed a little since then, so I was a bit worried about ordering this time, I was afraid I wouldn't be able to get what we had last time. Anyhow, I called Pat at the GF this afternoon and got the answer machine, but she has just called me back and I have ordered my cake :yay:

She was very nice and asked me what size of cake I wanted, she said I could have the 6" cake decorated anyway I liked but it could only have chocolate or vanilla filling. I told her about the cake we had last time and said that I wanted one just the same, she said sure no problem!!!!

She asked if I wanted anything special for the decorations, but having heard how much they cost lately, I said no. I told her that the white chocolate flowers we had last time were fine, but she then said that flowers are no longer included on the cakes and that I would have to pay extra for those :faint:

So I told her that we were more interested in the cake for the whipped cream frosting and custard strawberry filling so I didn't mind not having decorations on, she said that they would still write happy birthday Chloe on there for my DD.

So my cake is now ordered for the 10th August at 1900 Park Fare, Pat said that the cake will cost $32 and will be added to my bill, she didn't take any credit card details or reservation number, just the reservation date, time, place and my name.

So fingers crossed now that my cake shows up!!!! I'll post pics once we get back home :thumbsup2
