2 guys, a mom and the mouse. NOW COMPLETED!!! PIC INTENSIVE TR.

Ok so I just found your TR so Im ready to read the rest......

Oh p.s. I hope that all your family, medical, and friend moments are on the road to recovery. Life is stressful, but with anything Disney it can be better.

I hope you guys had a fabulous trip! I can’t wait to read your trip report.
*back to lurking*

We had a fabulous time. It was wonderful meeting you and I encourage you to do less lurking! Oh and by the by... thank you for those fastpasses. They were put to good use! I feel so bad that I forgot to snap a picture of you. I wanted to take a pic of any DISer that we met in the park but by that point you caught me off guard as I had not met anyone else yet.

Agreed it was very nice meeting you, and those fast passes were put to great use, we met up with a DL castmember we knew from back home and some of her fellow cast friends and it just may have ended in a junior defenders pic on space mountain....maybe;)

Ok pictures are uploaded so lets get on with the TR!

On thursday night Chris420 came over after work. We sat back and talked of our disney plans. We sat there discussing the food we would eat and the rides we wanted to ride first. Needless to say... we were not wanting to sleep. At this point, a few beers were in order. With enough booze floating in our systems we went to bed.

We began the trip on friday Sept 25th at 6:00 AM. After quickly getting ready we picked up my mother and headed to Phoenix Sky Harbor. I have not flown since before 9-11. I have to say I am so completely disgusted with the amount of nonsense that you have to go through, I will avoid flying if at all possible. After navigating through security, we made our way to the terminal.

I love what an amazing DL friend Chris is. I'm glad I have friend that I can share my obsession with.

I had to sport this interesting shirt I bought in La Bat en Rouge a few years ago...

I always loved watching the planes when I was a little kid. I have to admit... I still do.
100_2355.jpg

After a rather quick plane trip and a lost luggage scare we hopped on board a super shuttle to the DLH!!!! I felt like I was about to burst out of my skin! I had been wanting to do this since I was a kid. We arrived at the hotel around 11:45 AM. At that point we met up with an old friend of Chris's. Dan was one of Chris's best friends for a long time and while being a "local" had not been to DLR for years.

After a short line at check in counter we where on our way to our room. We had the wonder tower. We had a room on the sixth floor with a standard view.

Here are a couple pictures. I forgot to take one of the view though.

I loved the DLH, but you can see the age. I am very excited to stay there after the remodel.

My mother was tired and wanted to nap. She was not used to getting up that early. Leaving my mother to her peace and quiet, Chris, Dan and myself headed to the parks via the monorail.

100_2366.jpg

Well of course we attempted to hit Space Mountain GG first. Much to our chagrin, it had a 2 hour wait. We decided we would have to ride it later instead. We snagged some fast passes for, I think, 9:30 that night. The scary thing was that it was only 12:00 in the afternoon. At that point, we were sure the parks were mobbed. However, it seemed the madness worked out to our advantage. While indeed the parks were busy, everyone was going to haunted mansion and SPGG. It seemed as if every ride we hit was a walk one.

First we hit up Star Tours.

100_2385.jpg

Is it Chris Vader or Darth Chris?
100_2372.jpg

That's right... I'm a rebel scum. In addition we met at least 5 other people with the same tattoo in the parks.

100_2373.jpg

After a lovely flight to Endor, we raced over to BLAB to aid Buzz in his fight against the Evil Zurg.

100_2377.jpg

Chris has now decided to sport two lanyards as he wants to wear all his pins around his neck. Watch as the new red lanyard grows throughout this TR.

100_2378.jpg

I don't take good pictures.

After bragging about our crappy scores to each other, we decided we wanted to do something really fun. It was off to Adventureland. On the way, we stopped in the hub.

100_2387.jpg

100_2388.jpg

After realizing that we were wasting time, we made our way through the Jungles of Adventureland, past a tiki hut with singing birds and crooning flowers, a abandoned oasis and a rather odd river cruise to arrive at The Temple of the Forbidden eye.

MORE TO COME LATER!!!

Part 2

The line to Indy was short for it being a friday in the middle of the day. Only 15 minutes. We could not refuse that...

Excited to be going on one of the most awesome rides in DL we had to get some standard waiting in line pictures.

100_2391.jpg

Here we see ancient native artwork.
100_2396.jpg

Apparently it was cursed.

100_2395.jpg

Now we see an ancient warning left by the natives. It is too bad we may never know what it means.

100_2401.jpg

100_2405.jpg

After Chris blatantly ignored the sign, I tried my hand at blatantly ignoring it and I got it to do the sound effects. I heard crashing artifacts and an angry person from down there. I never got that to work, I was excited.

After a fun ride on Indy we headed over to Pirates, as it would be closed on Monday and we wanted as many rides on it as possible.

Here are Dan and Chris being pirates. They wanted to plunder some booty. ;)

100_2406.jpg

100_2407.jpg

After pirates we headed over to Haunted mansion to get some FPs

100_2409.jpg

Once we navigated through the FP line with passes in hand we headed through New Orleans Square over to BTMRR.

I love the Mark Twain... I'm sad I did not get to ride it this time.

100_2416.jpg

After a morning of traveling, and rushing we decided that we needed some food. We decided on Hungry bear as a burger sounded good. After ordering we found a nice shady spot on the top floor. I love the views from hungry bear.

100_2417.jpg

FIRST FOOD PORN OF THE TR!!!!
100_2419.jpg

We all got bacon cheesburgers so we did not figure it was needed to take three different pictures. The burgers were good and the fries were delicious.

After eating we decided that since we were in the area and Dan had never been on it, we needed to ride Winnie the Pooh. If nothing else but for the sheer tripiness.

On the way there we met up with some shady characters.

100_2420.jpg

After barely escaping with our lives... (just kidding, I flagged them down.) We arrived to a less than 5 minute wait for Pooh. Then again, when does pooh ever have more than a 5 minute wait.

100_2425.jpg

This room is terrifying.
100_2426.jpg

100_2428.jpg

100_2433.jpg

We got off pooh and waited for our FP window to open as Dan and Chris wanted FP's for Splash. I was going to do one more ride and then go back to the hotel and pick up my mother. It was about 4:00PM at this point and my mother and I had dinner PS's for 7:00 PM at Blue Bayou. Once they were able to, Chris and Dan got their FP's and we headed back to Haunted Mansion to say hello to Jack and his friends

PART 3 COMING SOON!

I love it! I specially love the pirates! hahaha classic.

I see you rode in the back of BTMRR. Did you all watch the goat?
I so glad you were able to enjoy the fastpasses, I would have hated to see them go to waste. Can’t wait to read more…..

I did the goat trick. I love it. It makes it a little bit more fun. I'm so glad you are enjoying the TR.

Hey James and Chris! It was great meeting you at PCH Grill, I want another Kitchen Sink! Have you recovered yet Chris?

We found the hidden mickeys on Screamin, my boys were so excited, they told everybody about it. :thumbsup2 thanks for the heads up.

We tried to catch Jack and Sally but never could. :sad1:

I will start my TR soon so be on the lookout, I have pics of you!!

It was great meeting you guys as well:)

I am fully recovered now although had to skip my last disney breakfast at goofy's the next morning as I woke up feeling like I had eaten an iron the night before, but it was totally worth it still, glad you guys were there to witness my defeat by ice cream:rotfl:

Enjoying your TR! Your first day was our last day...we got there at 1:30 that day and the FP for SM were gone...we seem to have gotten lucky and "only" had a 50 minute wait, though.

I'm glad you are enjoying the TR. I'm happy that you at least got to ride SPGG, Wasn't awesome?

Now on to PART 3.

With fastpasses in hand we headed to the Haunted Mansion.

100_2436.jpg

100_2438.jpg

I love the halloween decorations.

100_2439.jpg

100_2441.jpg

After HMH, I walked with the guys just long enough to part ways with them at the entrance plaza. They headed to DCA and I through DTD to the DLH. Along the way I stopped in Marceline's confectionary and bought a box of pumpkin fudge. There are still three pieces sitting in my freezer and I have a friend picking some more up for me this weekend YAY!

Anyhoo, I just loved staying at the DLH. I loved having constant Disney immersion. I never had to see the outside world. It could not have been better. As soon as I am able to... I will be staying onsite again.

I cannot say for certain what Chris420 and Dan did during this time so I will have to let him tell that part. He will have to still the pictures from Dan's facebook.

After picking up my mother from the hotel, we rode the monorail in and headed to fantasyland. My mother wanted to ride her favorite ride, and my least favorite... It's a small world.

100_2442.jpg

100_2444.jpg

100_2454.jpg

100_2459.jpg

100_2469.jpg

When the ride ended our boat went to the wrong side and my poor mother had to cross over another boat to get back to her wheelchair. Not a good start to the night.

After small world we headed to Peter Pan we we waited about 10 minutes in the handicap line. I love avoiding the line for that ride, but it is still one of my favorite rides in DLH.

100_2472.jpg

After riding PP's F we headed to Snow White's Scary Adventures. We walked on to that one once more using the handicap entrance. Once we got off, we realized that we should be getting close to New Orleans Square so we could be at BB on time. We decided to head over to Haunted Mansion Holiday. I loved how accommodating DL is for disabled guests. They completly stopped the Doom Buggies for my mother and the cast member helped my mother get on the buggies. I forgot to take pictures during this time because I was so preoccupied with making my mother happy.

My mother was really impressed with the Holiday layover. She remembers taking me as a child to go see Nightmare Before Christmas when it first came out in theaters. After our ride on HMH we headed to the BB

100_2476.jpg

100_2477.jpg

We had a water side table by the server's station... We got to see the boats and our drinks were kept full.

FOOD PORN ALERT!

Buccaneer's Beef Short Ribs - slow-roasted, then finished in a Zinfandel demi glaze. With Blue Bayou potatoes and seasonal vegetables. (These were yummy and they fell right off the bone)

100_2480.jpg

Bayou Surf & Turf - A succulent, sweet petite lobster tail from the Pacific Northwest, paired with an expertly broiled filet mignon, sauce bearnaise. With Blue Bayou potatoes and seasonal vegetables. (My Mother had the surf and turf. She seemed to enjoy it. I know I loved it.)

100_2483.jpg

100_2484.jpg

After a wonderful dinner at Blue Bayou we met up with Chris420 and Dan over in the New Orleans Square smoking section. We then headed back to pirates for my mother's first ride on it in years. The drops still scare her. :lmao:

After pirates we headed over to main street to grab a spot for the fireworks. I am so glad we went when we did. I can't remember seeing main street that busy for fireworks in a long time. It was worth it though. Halloween Screams spanked magical.
100_2485.jpg

I tried to get some photos of the fireworks but my camera just could not do it. I will try to pull the ones he took off Dan's facebook when I can.

After the amazing fireworks we headed to SPGG. I was looking forward to riding it, but unfortunately my mother and I got into an argument because she did not like the crowds. At that point, I took her back to the room and I spent the rest of the night pouting while Dan and Chris enjoyed a few more rides in DL. After calling my father and listening to his, plus Chris and Dan's advice, I decided to not let it ruin my vacation if my mother did not have the "disney gene". I made a vow to have a great rest of the trip. I went to bed feeling good about the coming morning.

I loved the bed spread in the rooms...

Coming up... Part 4 (Day 2 and a foggy magic morning.)
