good bye - I can't take it any longer

If you really believed the person was a troll.. the best thing to do is not post, ANY post no matter how witty or brilliant you think your comment is will give a troll what they want. "Don't feed the Troll" doesn't mean post "don't feed the troll" it means don't react because all a true troll is looking for is a reaction, ANY reaction. Imagine if a troll posts and it just rolls off the page without a single comment....

Hi

As for the "don't feed the trolls" comments, they were started by one of the mods unless I missed something.

I agreed with the mod then and strangely I also agree with you now, but it is difficult not to spring to the defence of your friends when you feel they are being attacked. It's only human to defend friends.

not that Rich :)

I never claimed it was easy! It's anything but, I'm just saying it's best :)
In 10 years or so of moderating here I'm not sure I've ever seen it done totally succesfully someone always has to comment. In the end though the more that stay away the better.

Nice cakes!

Angelina Jolie is beautiful.
Angelina Jolie is ugly.
Those are 2 opinions with no factual basis. If a statement is a valid opinion or just nonsense is .......an opinion. You can't prove it either way. An opinion is a belief that may or may not be backed up with evidence, but which cannot be proved with that evidence. It is normally a subjective statement and may be the result of an emotion or an interpretation of facts; people may draw opposing opinions from the same facts.

I think that is apples and oranges - Whether you find someone attractive or not is subjective. This are no facts to consider.

You then go on to say "people can draw opposing opinions from the same facts". I agree people can have different opinions based on the same facts. My original point pertained to posting nonsense to aggravate others. People are entitled to their opinions - no matter how crazy - I think people will respect your opinion more if it is rooted in some basis of fact.

As Marty DiBergi once said

"enough of my yakking.... lets boggie":cool1:

I have to admit I am normally on the Wedding & Honeymoon thread, but when I saw the title of the post it caught my eye. What would make a person say goodbye to the DIS? After reading the OP's opinion, they are entitled to their opinion. Are people really this sensitive over a freebie comment? What the heck does calling someone a "troll" on the Boards mean? I personally think the OP thread has invited more people indirectly to listen to the podcasts. I appreciate feedback whether or not I agree with it. As adults one should be strong enough to diplomatically deal with opinions, situations and reply in a civil manner. For those who participated in a discussion by calling posters names and CYA on the way out, you sure don't make it welcoming for people to be honest or for newbies or lurkers to join in the conversation. Hopefully people have a strong back. I think if people listening to the Podcasts don't like the direction it is going...take out of what you can. It is like a strainer when draining pasta....get what you want out of it and leave the rest. Take things with a grain of salt.

More than likely if one poster was courageous enough to post their opinion, there are others who may feel similarly. Because of this thread I am expanding on listening to the Podcasts and participating in other forums. Thanks goodness I am unconventional and don't let silliness get to me to stop me from participating and branching out.

In the end we all have one common trait....THE LOVE OF DISNEY!:thumbsup2

Nice cakes!

I tried Alex I really did! I stayed away as long as possible, but I succumbed to the bait and bit hook, line and sinker.

I have an opinion.

It's not based on facts.

Then again, maybe it is.

Grapes on a cake is nasty.

There, I said it. ;)

Ok, because I'm a thread killer, lets see if we can make this the last post on this thread in honor of Alex, king of speedy boards.

They actually have a name for these threads over on the Community Board - an acronym actually...

Yet Another Grand Exit.

before it's killed i have to say something.
having grown up with the internet ( i had prodigy before i had aol 1.0) i have learned to not care about internet posters. positive, negative, moderate, i don't care. mabey i can just brush things off easy or mabey because i've learned to not care. i come here for disney because when i'm at disney i need not care. i like the show whether they're mean, nice, happy, sad, crabby, stupid, loud. as long as there's a show that week, I DON"T CARE! just be like the podcast crew who probably has stopped fretting since they threw up their hands and stopped caring about the overly beaten horse. now pass me a piece of peace cake please so i may go lurk in the food porn thread.
