We are leaving in 14 days:woohoo: I am soooooooooo excited!!!! I have a question about on-line check in. I did make a request on my reservation and I am planning on following up with a fax, should I wait to do on-line check in untill I've sent the fax? Is that a dumb question:confused3 Also, do I need to do on-line check in?
Thanks,
Laurie:santa:

We will be checking in then too. I'm glad you asked this cause I was coming on to ask the same question since online check is in a few days. I've noted my request on ressie like I do for every trip however, have never sent a fax but thinking of doing so this trip. DH was thinking we shouldn't do online check in this time to see if it makes a difference in our room assignment. We go all the time, this will be our 4th trip this year. We NEVER get a good room or location :confused3. So, not sure what to do.

I plan on ordering some Water from Costco before we leave... I know with CSR, there are some different rules for package delivary, can someone explain to me the best way to have something shipped to CSR please?

For our last stay, I didn't have a room request on my ressie but I faxed in a room request about a week out. I also did online check-in about 3 days out. The purpose of online check-in is to speed up the process once you get to the resort. There is a separate line for online check-in that, in theory, should be shorter than the regular line. Your package will be ready including your KTTW cards. You don't have to do online check-in, it is completely optional.

In our case we got an upgraded room from standard view to water view, which we've never had happen before - of course that isn't guaranteed to happen everytime but we sure didn't mind. Take a look at my CSR review - the link is below in my sig.

I hope you both have great trips. :thumbsup2

I was also wondering if this resort offers bicycles to rent. My son goes through withdrawal if he goes too long without pedalling something - lol!

That would be yes. :thumbsup2

Be aware that La Marina is only open seasonally. So depending on what they mean by seasonally it may not be open when you are there. We've been there in October and December and it wasn't open either time.

I was going to post the same thing! We wanted to rent surry bikes on Tuesday, but they are closed for the season. The directed me to "one of the deluxe resorts", LOL! We went to the Boardwalk and rented one there!!:goodvibes

I guess that is what we will do. I took my kids last October and we stayed at POR where we rented the Sea Raycers and we cruised to Downtown Disney and it was a blast! We also rented bicycles and rode around and checked out the resort. I figured since I keep hearing how large this resort is that biking would be a great way to take in all the sights - maybe we will luck out but I'll plan on going elsewhere just in case.

Are these also seasonally at POR? Did you stay at Riverside? The reason I ask is when I called last night the CM asked me if we would consider switching to POR/Riverside and offered me an additional discount. CSR must be really packed is all I can think! I looked at it and I am interested in the fishing (for my son), the bikes, the Sea Raycers and the pool area/slide. He isa 7 so these are important to him. We are going Dec 16 to the 20th so I am worried if they will be offered then. I also remember the buses being packed there. I have stayed at French Quarter.

We were there in early Dec last year and I did see people riding the bikes and the fishing hole was open. I do not remember seeing anyone using the Sea Racers.

Hi <First of all thanks to all who have posted here , there is a wealth of information. We have taken your advice and faxed in room requests ,:)4days until our CSR stay.Yeah! My ? is if you are using the dining plan do you have to pay the 10% gratuity at the PM out of pocket or is that included with the plan? Also are there volleyballs available to use on the nice beach court? I'd hate to try and pack one from home yikes:(

The MILLION DOLLAR question! :) We've been on the dining plan, as have others, and have not paid the 10% gratuity. HOWEVER, others who have been on the dining plan have stated that they did have to pay it. The PM is very confusing when it comes to the dining plan. If you don't want to pay it and are unsure, I would just ask for a "to go" ticket and enjoy your food at one of the tables surrounding the lake.

Yes, there are volleyballs available--ask one of the lifeguards (I forget where they keep them).

:cool1:

We are leaving in less than 6 hours!!

CSR....party of 6.....I can't think of a better place to be for the next 10 days!

:woohoo:

We stayed at Riverside 10/22 to 10/29. I am not sure if the marina is open seasonally or not but we did fish and it was a blast. We never did get on the slide because by the time we made it to the pool the lifeguard was off duty so the slide was closed.

I am really looking forward to satying at CSR though. I am undecided as to what we are going to do for late lunch/dinner when we arrive as I was planning on grabbing a bite at the resort but it seems like the general consensus is that may not be such a great idea. I don't think that we are going to make a room request though in the spirit of keeping up with the surprise. I talked to a friend who has previously stayed at CSR and he said that his kids absolutely loved the resort (especially the pool!!!)

We were on the QSDP in July...we did not have to pay a 10% gratuity....though we left a few bucks on the Table for the servers...at check out I just handed them my Order cards and handed my KTTW and told them Dining Plan. :thumbsup2

Does anyone know what has happened to Jameslynn? I haven't seen any posts from her in awhile. Sorry if this has already been asked I was just concerned. She was always so helpful!:goodvibes

I was wondering about JamesLynn too.

I was wondering about JamesLynn too.

Haven't heard from her in a couple of months. We used to email and she's not answered my last two emails (the last I knew she had a minor accident at work and hurt her wrist and had to take about ten days off...that was the last I heard from her).

Thanks Kat for the heads up. I hope she's ok.

Hello, everyone. So I had been thinking that I wouldn't put in a room request and just let the chips fall where they may, so to speak. However, I think I'd like to avoid Ranchos and I have a few other thoughts, as well. I might want to go into the hot tub later at night and would love to be close to the Dig Site. Being close to a bus stop would be nice, though. Help me!
Thank you! You all are so generous for sharing all of your collective CSR/Disney wisdom.:thumbsup2
