Marathon Weekend Weather

Why don't you have him stay in bed and then come and see you pass by the hotel on the broadwalk?

THat's probably a good idea! He can take his time and then either see us pass by the hotel or just go into epcot at the finish.

I woke up this morning and all our plants had died, apparently they enjoy the cold weather in Fl about as much as I do :rotfl2: When the humidity turns cold it really isnt pleasant! :scared1:

SO I went to the store today to buy cheap throwaway clothes! Man do I look good in all those layers, but whatever it takes right???

I also got some of those deep heating pads to put on my shoulders, i thought it might keep me warm while I waited, when I get cold I tend to hunch my shoulders and they get sore so I thought this might help  I also bought hand and foot warmers and an instant ice pack for when I get back to my room (for my shin) and the lady at the counter said "wow you have something for every kind of problem here!" I told her I was running a marathon and she laughed (i think she thought I was kidding)

I am contemplating taking my electric blanket to Disney for my room at night, or will that be just be too big a shock when I go outside :scared1:

Oh and I just wanted to remind everyone that even though it will be cold dont forget your suncream, the sun will be out and will still burn you, so be careful :cloud9:

Chap stick also. With the wind wind burn is always a factor also.

Kirsty-Leigh - I don't think you will need the electric blanket. All the times I have been to Disney and its been cold the rooms are still warm (granted I don't think I have been to Disney when its been as cold as they are predicting)

where did you find the hand warmer things and what do they look like? I might pick up some. I am going to try and find my gloves - its been so long since I have needed gloves for cold I have no idea where they could be. Otherwise I don't think they should be too expensive. I am also thinking of getting compression things for my legs and possibly my arms. I do not like the way the temps look - if it would just warm up a bit - but not be too warm by the finish. If only......

I got hand, foot, body warmers at Walmart - in the sporting goods area - the one for the body/shoulder looks smaller than a 3x5 card - they had 2 kinds of foot warmers - one for the toe area, and one for the whole bed of the foot/insole... of course we are in the cold frozen north - Chicago area -

Today the car temp said it was 19 deg outside - :rotfl2: "hey its a whole ten degrees warmer at Disney" :faint:

but you dont have the black ice do you? :confused3

Tricia - I got the hand warmers at CVS, they didnt have the little ones that go in your pockets but they did have these arthritis balls that were for your hands, they are the disposable ones that heat up when you get them out the packet, they looked like they did the same thing as the others so I settled for them, but then when I went to sports authority they had some of the others there too.

Here is the one that I bought: http://www.cvs.com/CVSApp/catalog/s...ush&navCount=2&no_new_crumb=true#prodDescCont

and here is the one I wanted but didnt find: http://www.campmor.com/grabber-hand...GAN-_-Google Product Listing Ads-_-Primary-_-

I also got the toe warmers, (I figure I can take them out in the corrals:confused3)I got these at walgreens:
http://www.walgreens.com/store/cata...frgl_552625&ci_src=14110944&ci_sku=sku3675408

I have compression sleeve for my shin splints and love them they keep my calves toastie  I am just going to run in compression shorts and my shin sleeves, and i have pants to wear over till I warm up

I hope this helps

Ok this is a blip on the Weather.com forecast but it brings up a question, has it ever snowed at Disney? Not that fake stuff in the parks but snow.

From the 3:07 forecast today...

Saturday night
Rain / Snow Showers Overnight Low
33°F

I checked to make sure I didn't have Orlando, AR and I do not.

Seriously????? I just finished telling the 3yr old that it will never snow here so she will have to wait till we go back to IN to see it again!!!!

Is the weather channel just playing with us??? I feel like we will all be there on race day in all our layers and someone will jump out and say you've been punk'd (or something similar!)

I am going to find more layers .......

I was at Downtown Disney for NYE 2000, and I seem to remember some flakes in the air.

Ok so this is going WAY back but in 1976 (or was it 1977 - I was about 4 or 5) it snowed here in Palm Beach county 3 hours south or Orlando - it didn't stay on the ground but snow did fall from the sky.So it is possible but I would rather it NOT snow when we have to be out there so early and it will already be so cold. Could you imagine it now - in a few years we will be remembering 2010 and how it snowed that year. LOL

Charles next time buy the runners retreat will you???

( :rotfl: j/k saw your post about if you had bought it the weather would've been 68 deg!!)

I want to sign up for '11 a "do over"???

I bought those you posted from Walgreens!! Guess its time to dig in the closet for more layers - do I wear pants and keep them on, or shorts and sweats over and ditch them around 9 am? :confused3

I found my hand warmers at Home Depot at the check out registers. They were 99 cents a pack. Didn't realize that they also make special ones for the toes and feet.

I guess it may be time to face reality and go out and buy some cheap sweats. I keep hoping somehow the forecast is going to change, but they seem pretty confident that it will be cold!

I need to face reality in that I may not even be going!
I'm driving down, and I know I don't live in the coldest part of the world, but when we get forecasts for snow and ice on the roads Thursday and Friday they really take things seriously. This is going to stink if I can't make it down!

It's begining to look like compression shirt & tights weather for this Saturday.

I know this has been said but it's buried somewhere - How far distance/time are the corals from the monorail drop off point.

Thanks

Ok, I've got a confession to make. The reason it's going to be so cold this year is because I did NOT purchase the VIP tent. I've purchased it the last two years. Not this year. Thought I'd save some money. :sad2:

However, I'm staying at the Polynesian. I'm hoping I can hop on the monorail around 4:30ish. :confused3

It has snowed in WDW.
When you have time ask to see the photos at the TTC monorail station.
They are in the control booth, go up to the MK express and its at the far end.

Went to UA and got a cold gear fleece. I also have the hood being shipped!!!
