My planning has started for our June BC trip. Since we are celebrating our
25th wedding anniversary, I am going to splurge a little.

I have already made a ressie for my DH a fishing excursion, we will have friends down that week as well so all of the men are going. Having done that I would like to do something for myself and my DD and her friend (both age 16). I am looking at maybe a facial or manicure/pedicure, but I am not sure which spa is the easiest to get to from the BC. I really did not want to drive, but if I have to I will (we are driving down).

Any suggestions on what would be best? I am not a massage person (I have had 2 in the past and ended up in pain??? just very tender I guess) so I am looking at alternatives. Has anyone tried the spa at the Dolphin? How easy is it to get to from the BC?

Thanks!:)

Teena,

I have been reading the boards for awhile and have enjoyed all of your advise about the BC and am hoping you can help me out.

My family and I will be at the BC the last week in August celebrating the 3rd aniversary of our adopation of our 3 year old (very soon after to be 4 year old son). He is just now starting to understand what adopation means and I want to do something very special for our family.

Besides a cake is there anything else I can do at the BC to help us celebrate?

Thanks for any suggestions

niki

You can actually get a facial, manicure and pedicure at Periwigs at the Y&B. Also, at our Health Club, you can get a massage.

I'm sure alot of disboarders here will have many suggestions for you.

As far as what I would suggest ... we do celebrations through Disney Florist. They come and decorate the room, leave presents from Mickey, Donald, Goofy, Minnie, etc. in the room. I would suggest that you call them and talk to them about one of those in-room celebrations. I saw a room once that they decorated and the boxes that the presents come in are so festive, it was really very special. Their phone number is 407-827-3505 and the link that shows the in-room celebrations is: http://www.disneyflorist.com/category/occasions/inroomcelebrations/display

Teena - quick question.

Since my in-laws have decided to join us you know we switched from the deluxe cl room to a gv cl room so we can be on the same floor. We can't book lv cl room since we're a party of 5. My in-laws are only staying for the first week so I can't even just put one of the kids in their room.

Now the question - as much as we prefer BC over YC do you think YC has more gv cl rooms with a decent view? I know we got spoiled on our last BC gv cl room with a nice courtyard view, but I know there are a lot of not as nice view rooms too.

Do you think we would have a better chance of a "good" gv cl room by switching to YC?

Thanks - you always know sooo much!

That's a tough one. There are some real ugly gv cl rooms at the YC too. I'd stay where you are and worse case scenario, if you get a horrible view and nothing else is available on check-in day, you can ask to be put in for a room change when one of the better views become available. It's really a 50/50 chance at either resort with a garden view cl. I wish they would get the name changed to "standard" because calling it "garden" is really misleading!

Sounds good to me. We really love BC - the feel, being closer to BC Marketplace and the quick walk to EPCOT. YC is really nice too but I think BC fits our personalities just a little bit more.

You know I wish they would do it the way WL does. It would be nice to book CL - standard, courtyard (garden) or waterview. I'm just going to keep hoping we end up in the same section we were in in 2008. We were actually the last room in the hall where the big suite is (I forget the name). We were right next to it (and I couldn't resist looking in when mousekeeping was cleaning! -WOW).

We all wish that would happen too ... and even more, have the few king bed rooms a separate category too. It would make everybody happy!!

Hi all!
I'm staying at the BCV this May :cool1: Only stayed on the villas side once and I had a pool view, which I liked (I was just happy I wasn't facing that road). I was thinking of requesting a courtyard view this time, since I thought it was so pretty. I know there aren't many rooms facing this direction, so I probably won't get it anyway, but if I do, do you think this could actually be a bad idea? I'm thinking it might wind up being kind of loud with the walkway right there. Thoughts? TIA

Thanks Teena for the suggestion about using Disney Florist. I will look into them.

This was my 8th time on the 7 night Disney Magic cruise. I've also cruised on many other lines including some that are now out of business (Big Red Boat and Dolphin's Seabreeze - loved that ship). Others that are still around are Celebrity (my second favorite after Disney), Holland American (not a fan), Norwegian (hated it - if I won a trip from them, I'd tell them to keep it), Royal Caribbean (really like it alot) and a few others. DCL is wonderful for adults only!!

As far as when I like to cruise, I'd have to say my favorite Disney cruise was in early May last year. The weather was just right .. not too hot, the water at Castaway Cay was warm. The water at Castaway Cay in March and early April is cooler ... but if the temperature at the Island is hot, then you don't mind it. September, October and November is nice too but in September and October we had days that were so hot, I didn't even want to do anything but be in air conditioning or be in the water. It was uncomfortably hot walking around the islands shopping or touring.

To answer your question about the Vice Presidential, I just love the bedroom with the huge king bed and the bathroom with the TV in it, etc. The balcony is huge ... you could have 20 people easily on it. The living room is nice too but the bedroom and bath is what's so super ... love the way it is decorated. It also has a powder room (I guess for guests that visit you???) It only sleeps two ... it has a king bed. The sofa isn't a pull out and it's not a daybed either ... the suite is made for only two unlike the other one bedroom suites we have. They sleep three. However, those suites are really nice but nothing as elaborate as the Vice Presidential. They have the same furniture and bathroom as a normal room ... just different because it has a sitting room off the bedroom where the daybed is located. As far as location of the Vice Presidential, the huge balcony faces the courtyard and if you look to the right when you are on the balcony, you see the lake and Boardwalk. If you walk out the back doors in the BC lobby and immediately look up to the fifth floor on the right, that's the Vice Presidential. You would be looking at the long balcony.

Teena - Thank you so much for answering all my questions! You've given me lots to think about :flower3:

We arrive April 11, too! Mug refill: the Marketplace is probably the easiest place. SAB: I believe it closes at 10PM? Ipod docking: it's part of the clock radio so every room should have it. Have a great trip!

Our boys loved the ipod docking station - we had one in our standard room. And when we were at BC from March 10-14, SAB was open until 10pm every night. I knew that it was subject to change all the time, so I asked at the front desk when we checked in. The CM at check-in looked it up and said 8pm. Later that night, it still looked open, so we asked the lifeguards and they said 10pm every night. I mentioned that the front desk said 8pm, and the lifeguard said sometimes the front desk does not receive the most updated info. Hope that helps!!! Have a great trip - we miss BC already!

Two weeks from tomorrow we are headed to Disney!!!!! I have a couple questions. We are staying 2 nights at the Dolphin and then 3 nights at YC. Will the Dolphin transfer our bags for us or will we have to walk them over ourselves? Also the day we switch hotels is the day we are planning on going to MK, we are just relaxing at the Dolphin, so our tickets are attached to the YC reservation. So long story short, we have breakfast reservations at Crystal Palace, can we run over to YC check in quickly and get our tickets, would they even give them to us the day before? Does that make any sense?:confused3

You would have to run over the check in (and get your KTWW card with your tickets) very early. You can't get them the night before but you can check in at YC before you head over to MK and get your card.

As far as Dolphin transferring your bags over to the YC, I'm not sure. Since they are not a Disney resort, I have no idea if they participate in the transfer of bags. You will need to ask the bell desk at the Dolphin about that.

You cannot check in the day before at the YC. However, you can check in early (like 7 AM) at the YC and then go over to the Magic Kingdom for breakfast. Whether or not your room is available, you will be given your room keys which will have your park passes on them. If you bring your luggage with you when you check in at 7 AM and the room is not available, the YC bell services will gladly store the bags for you until your return to the resort when your room is ready.

Hey all, we became converts to the BC after our first stay there in February. We have definitely found our home. :cool1: Anyway, I was wondering if there's a fan site for the Beach Club, the way that there is for GF, the Poly, POR, etc.?

Thanks!

oops! just found my answer a couple of posts up! :) Does SAB always close at 10, or does it stay open later during peak seasons? What time does it open in the am?

Robyn,

I would suggest staying with BC for standard view CL. Esp. since your heart is really at BC. I think the BC CL standard view you do have a better chance of a decent view. Yes, esp. those standard courtyard type views!

Good luck decison making....we are still making decisions for this summer. Have June booked BC, but thinking of switching to July. Just waiting on older sons final college selection and how it will affect our summer vacation plans!

Go with July - then perhaps we'll meet up!

I remember those days of waiting for my kids to make up their minds on college selection! One ds knew exactly where he wanted to go from day 1 -and one literally made up his mind the next to last day before the deadline!

We're sticking with BC and hoping for the best! I'll miss our deluxe room but the kids are really excited about staying on the same floor as their grandparents. When we did our grand gathering two years ago they loved being able to go from room to room to room (LOL)!

At this time next week I will be checked into the YC and having dinner at the Yachtsman! Just DH and me without the kids. The price I pay is spending all day Sunday at a conference. It seems worth it!
Teena - Please remind me! Will you be around next weekend at all? We'd love to meet you!!!
