The 2010 EPCOT Food and Wine Festival Thread

When will the events open for booking? I forget when we were able to book last year but I remember it felt really late. Also, has anyone corrected the Eat to the Beat dates error for Air Supply? I can't figure out when they are there.

For at least the past few years, July/August has been the time frame for event listing and bookings opening. I'm not sure about the error for the concert listing you're talking about.

Thanks so much. As of now we are going the last week in October. The schedule comes out in July right? By then I will feel a little more confident in it. But I think I will have him book it with his credit card just in case:rolleyes1

I'm sure in the next month or so, there will be a sticky thread on the top of this forum, just like there was last year. It had links to event listings and updated as new info was released. Unless Disney event planning can get all their ducks in a row earlier this year, I don't expect the info until late July/early August.

Not until June or July. Booking last year opened August 11.

Air Supply is scheduled for October 11-12.

10/09 - 10/10 - Sugar Ray
10/11 - 10/12 - Taylor Hicks
10/13- 10/08 - Air Supply
10/09 - 10/15 - Sister Hazel

This is what is currently posted. Obviously an error as the Air Supply dates make no sense and the other dates overlap each other which I know doesn't happen.

has anyone sent an email to DIS to tell them the dates are incorrect? I can't do it from the office.

I'd be interested to see if they have bags made from last year's banners, I wish I had gotten one last year, so hopefully they'll make them again.

If it goes the same way as last year, unless you are present on the first two or three days of the festival, you don't have much chance of getting one anyway.

I hope people can forgive me for ot reading all 12 pages of the thread  :flower3: . (I did do a search anyway so I didn't start a new one! :thumbsup2;) ) I just realized yesterday that we'll be arriving on the last weekend of the Festival. We've never gone but since we're going to be there and have the days to spare on the tickets, I was wondering how that last weekend seems to be? Crowd-wise, food-wise...etc. Do they seem like they are just packing everything up and it's like the last hours of a garage sale on it's last day with not much to bother? We'll have half a day to spare the day we arrive and since we can, we thought about heading there just for this and doing the rest of Epcot another day.
Opinions? feedback? ... Bueller? :goodvibes

PS: in case it matters, we won't care about the wine stuff anyway. I know I know. Sacrilege. :)
I suppose most of the merchandise is gone? Are those some of the things you can purchase by calling the phone number (can't think of the name right now) that you can call to get specific park items?

There's usually a "cast preview" on the Thursday before the festival opens (in 2010 that will be September 30) but they don't check to see if you're cast or not. Not all the food booths are open for it though.

I'm planning on going to the F&W fest this year for the first time in 8 years! I know it has really changed since then. I used to go every year, even bringing school groups with me and making poor little 8th graders try food that was not pizza, tacos or hamburgers! I am so excited!

Unfortunately, the changes haven't been for the better. I was able to attend some of the very early F&W events and dearly miss the small, educational wine seminars. Now, it seems like they're just sales pitches from a particular vineyard or wine distributor. You learn about their wines and their vineyards, but very little about wine in general. And last year, to add insult to injury, they began *charging* for the privilege of sitting through their infomercials. Needless to say, it was a no-brainer to pass them by. Now, we just enjoy the food and wine around the WS. The wine education is a dim memory. :sad2:

We're going this year - our first family trip during Jersey Week - can't wait!

I am making my Le Cellier ressie this Wed, 5/5 @ my 180+10 window! :cool1:

I am so excited that I am finally going during the F&W festival! :cool1: I hope that all of you will be patient with me in the coming months; I'm sure that I will have a ton of questions.

I have already avoided the cardinal sin of scheduling EPCOT over the weekend, we're going during the week. So, I'm learning already! :lmao:

Tickets? Do you mean for the concerts? If so, there's no fee for the concerts.
Sidneydog, you scared the heck out of me the first time you posted the schedule. I'm going 10/2-10/12, and I'm so looking forward to "Celebrat-"ing with Kool and the Gang.

Oh yes I remember everyone lining up in the queue hours before, to get a seat... I refuse to stand in line that long, I guess that means I can listen from outside the venue.

Thanks...

Last time I was at F&W (4 years ago) there was a kiosk with Florida wines at it. Does anyone remember what brand it was. I would love to get some delivered to my room (wegoshop.com) before we go. The only thing I remember about it was that it was sweet and I think by the end of our trip the people that worked there knew me:goodvibes. Does anyone know if they always have local wine at the F&W? I would love to get to know the CM's again this year:).
