Ok, So I hope that I'm doing this right! I am VERY new to the DISboards, meaning I just stumbled upon them two days ago! So please bear with me as I get used to this whole thing!

I was so pleased to see that there are going to be so many fun ppl on this trip! As you can see by my signature, I am somewhat green to Disney, at least when it comes to the likes of some of you!! (I'm impressed and somewhat jealous of all your fabulous vacations!)

Myself and my boyfriend LOVE Disney and are wanting to make Disney a part of our vacation plan every year!! We live in CA, which is why most of our trips have been to DL (still getting used to all the abbreviations) so many times...well so many times in the short time we have been together. We have been dating about 2 1/2 years, are madly in love and pretty much booked this trip at the very begining of our relationship! Kinda risky, but we knew we were going to be together! We would love to get marreid abourd a disney ship(we actually met on a cruise ship, so cruises are special to us) So hopefully that dream will come true some day!

We just can't believe that the trip is almost here! We are SOOO excited it takes up most of our conversations!

We will be traveling with his parents on this trip, and ALL four of us are sharing a room(should be interesting, lol). We origanally planned to have his sister, her husband and there two children along with us....until she found out she was pregnant. And it turned out that she didn't meet DCL restrictions for pregnant women (24 weeks) by FOUR DAYS...so they ended up booking a med. cruise that leaves next week, she is well within the "safe zone" for that trip. So it will just be the four of us...together...for a total of 21 days straight...bonding... :)

We are headed to Barcelona 5 days early to see as much as we possibly can, and then when back in Florida we are going for ONE DAY to Disneyworld...I have never been, and we are still deciding on which land to go to, so any suggestions would be great!

Long story long, I am so happy to have found y'all and I hope its not too late to sign up for some of the fun stuff you guys are doing...and if it is, well, we can still have a coctail on the ship!

Cheers!!:drinking1

Welcome Aboard. I hope you have found out that page 1 and 2 of this thread has all the info you need to know.

Yup a fun group that is sure to keep you busy :)

Now the surprise is no longer a surprise for those who haven't received it it, I also want to thank Todd and Helen for the tattoos.

Welcome!!! I'm also thrilled that you found us and hope that you join us with many of the things we have planned! You're going to make your potential in-laws impressed with all your friends and fun things you'll have planned! :rotfl:

I can't help but smile thinking about your " 21 days straight...bonding"!

Looking forward to chatting with you more!

Welcome to the group. My suggestion for people who have a limited time at Disney World but have been to Disneyland is to visit the Animal Kingdom. I believe that it is the most different of the parks. Also it is small enough that you could skim the highlights and then go on over to Epcot which is my second choice. One LONG day and you can experience so much of both.

Of course, it really depends on what you are interested in. If you are a huge movie buff maybe Hollywood Studios is best for you. Again, a small park so you could conceivably get in some of Epcot on the same day.

I don't think you can really go wrong with any of the parks, but it seems like, if you have been to Disneyland numerous times, the Magic Kingdom would be your last choice.

Oh good suggestion too! I forgot about AK! (I know I should be shot for that)

when do we start posting on part 8? I see that it's open. Do we wait until we can't post here anymore?

Thats the idea! A few things have been posted over there like the meets etc. but so far this thread is still open so we should be using this one!

I would definately recommend going to EPCOT for your one day as Food & Wine is on and its a great adult atmosphere there!
I agree. The EPCOT Food & Wine festival is a terrific way to sample delicious foods from different countries.

BAA the British Airport Authority however are ballotting for strikes and this would effect Heathrow, Stansted and a few other airports (not Gatwick). These do things like the baggage etc at the airport!
Sarah, have they announced possible strike dates?

Woody

Small World

Well, we are sad to miss it....again...as we met on Small World Ride at DL:lovestruc and so, of course, it is our favorite, not to be missed ride. :cloud9:

What to see at WDW with only one day.

As old time DL folks, I agree that Epcot is the one to see. If you can spend a long day and do two, I agree that Animal Kingdom and then Epcot would be fantastic. AND WELCOME TO THE DIS!!!

T-Shirts

Ours did not arrive yesterday, but hopefully today! :banana:pirate:

I thought for sure this would be closed by the time I got up. :confused3:surfweb: Oh well, matters not where we chat, just that we can chat! :grouphug:

Agree, we have booked one night as well after the cruise - the BAD thing is we will not be too hungry after 14nights on the Magic.

I am back,:goodvibes well we didn't really go anywhere. I have just been busy with work and non-work activities I haven't been able to get around here much. Looks like there is a lot of catching up to do.

Not to scare Lyn (lyn9856 that is) but it was getting close to us having to cancel the plans. The problem was finding someone to house/dog/cat/and fish sit for 5 weeks. But, things have worked out. We are still coming:cool1:

Hope everyone has been well and there haven't been to many posts about bad things happening. Doing a quick scan of this page I saw mention of old topics that keep coming around. Eye patches:scared1:, "un-mentionables", and few others. Oh, what a group this is. The ship will never be the same when we depart on Oct 2.

Not much longer,
Jon

Thanks! Luckily we were able to get a 100% refund on our BA flight in the end as I had never confirmed the flight change and had my tickets reissued! I didn't actually realise that I was meant to but when I phoned to query getting a refund they informed me I was meant to last year. Lucky I didn't turn up at the airport expecting to get on that flight as they would not have let us!

I think you are very fortunate to be on top of these flights. I obsessively check all of our flights at least twice a week as I don't trust the airlines.

I've never done the food and wine festival. I'm really looking forward to it.

This will be our first Food and Wine festival as well. I think we will not be too full after 14 days on the Magic....I think we will be accustomed to being fed and watered very well each day and will want that to continue while we are at WDW! Now, our clothes may be fitting a bit tight and we may NEED to slow down at the trough a bit at WDW! :rotfl:

Well, at least on this one I volunteered to do it a long time ago. Since all the data is in the database, all I need to do is ask it a question. Last night I wrote the script that collects the info below, but since it queries the database each time someone views the site, it is automatically updated with the latest stats. As soon as a person joins, their info is included in all the stats.

My DD (who is not on the cruise) was curious about the ages of the kids on the cruise. We had wanted to take 2 of the Gk's ages 15 and 12 but school schedule would not permit.

Welcome back to the thread. My DH is also way to busy to keep up with the thread so he just wants a quick synopsis on a daily basis. It is almost as much work to give him a quick rundown as it is for him to read!!!

I wonder what the non DISers on this cruise are going to this of this cast and crew!!
