If You Were Pregnant, Would You Ditch Your Husband For WDW...?

I wouldn't. Nothing to do with the "ditching the husband" part, I just wouldn't want to be walking everywhere in June Florida heat at 7 months pregnant...

Same here.

Plus I would be on bedrest so going to the OBGYN appt. was a treat.

It really depends on your pregnancy. Some people are fine and others are not.

Not everywhere is just as hot as Florida in June. I know when I lived in Southern CA we had what was called "June Gloom". It was actually cooler and overcast most days in June.

I went to New Orleans with my mother when I was 5 months pregnant. It was hot and we walked around the quarter a lot which was a pain but I had a good time.

If you feel up to it, I don't see why not.

Just did this in November to go with a friend. I was 5 months preg at the time.

I don't mind the idea of ditching the hubby to go to Disney with friends or family, but I have always been nervous about traveling while pregnant. My little sis was one of those unlucky mothers who had a surprise emergency C-section, six weeks premature, far from home, with no one to support her and spent a month with a baby in nicu living at a ronald mcdonald house. Not ideal. It's stuck with me.

I wouldn't go in June, pregnant or not. Too darn hot. I'd play it by ear and see how the pregnancy goes.

I also don't understand what being pregnant has to do with ditching your DH, and if my thn H had been so emotional that seeing toddlers running to a character had made him teary eyed and reaching out to rub my belly, I would have left him in the park.

You should totally do it. If I remember you just left your job as an F/A, stuck on a plane for how long, now you will have hubby and at least 18 years with your kiddos with you at home. This is the last time for you to be with your parents, just you.

I remember what 7 months pregnant feels like, and man oh man, between the feet kicking the bladder:eek: the elbows rubbing the ribs:scared1:& the general disdain:headache: I felt towards everyone whenever I wasn't eating something, I don't think it would've been so fun for me. However, I was a very princess:psychoticprincess: pregnant lady! I do wish however that when I was pregnant I had done a few more things just for me and enjoyed my "me" time a little more. See how you feel in a few months before solidifying plans with your parents. Congratulations BTW!

Agreed

I appreciate all of the input!

FWIW, I know how hot it is in June. I've gone every summer since I'm two. ;) All I know is, a pool, someone making my bed each day, good food, better desserts, no laundry, no dirty toilets, and relaxation for two weeks in 100 degrees sounds wonderful. Of course, I'm not 7 months and have never been 7 months before, but I will see how I feel when June comes!

Yes, but it feels hotter when you're 7 months pregnant. I went in the end of October when I was 8 months pregnant. It was only in the low to mid 80's but it felt like it was 100.

Well, I'll just have to sit in the pool and enjoy a frozen drink, or sit in the AC and eat something! ;)

Golly....I don't know how all the pregnant people in Florida manage. Do they go live somewhere else where it's cool? :confused3

There's plenty of ways to stay cool and you certainly don't need to go commando in the parks. Take it slow, stay hydrated and all will be fine and dandy.

I know!!!

Geeze Louise What the heck do these folks think women did before air conditioning?

And like I said before there are plenty of places just as hot and humid she could be going to or living.

If mom and dad are paying, and i wasn't working, or had other responsibilities like other kids at home - I would definitely go and tell hubby I would bring him a souvenir!

However- that is pretty prego to be driving a long distance. It all depends on your pregnancy and how your doctor feels about it. I had planned on driving a few hours to wedding when I was 8 months pregnant with my first. I didn't think it would be a big deal at all as i was feeling fine. I went into labor at 35 weeks and obviously was not able to make it to the wedding. You never know what would happen. WDW is alot of walking too. You will get increasingly uncomfortable in the last trimester. I know that many gals could do it and be fine - but you should really have a plan b in place if you aren't able to make it or run into trouble on the trip. Every pregnancy is different -and there is no way to tell in advance how it will progress.
