Snow White's Scary Adventure Closure

That is so sad, I hope it's not true. The ride may need a little updating but I don't want it to go.

I never understood who this rides was meant for. It is too scary for young kids and toddlers yet so simple for older kids. I refused to go into this ride when I was 4 years old because I was terrified of a poster of the witch outside. I was amused that DS did the exact same thing when he was 3 and 4 years old. He has yet to go on this ride. I would not be sad at all if this ride was closed or revamped.

As far as an announcement, people always think it's something big, and it's almost always a dissapointment. I'm not holding my breath.

I always loved this ride, but on our latest trip with my DBF I saw how old and run down it seemed. Some of the luster is gone from it - though that witch trying to drop the boulder on you has always gotten me anyway!

I'd hate to see it go, but not like I hated to see Mr. Toad go. And if we could get something new there? How great!!!

Well, and half of what they announced at the last big press conference has been changed, so I take all of it with a shaker FULL of salt now!

this ride scared the CRAP out of me when i was little...it is SO not on our to do list lol

better not remove it. I took our adopted son there for his first trip, He was 9 and this ride scared him, BUT he loved it!! It was his favorite ride that trip.
We dont need more computer/video generated garbage. I like the old classic animatronic rides. i dont have animatronics at home, i do have videos at home

I can see them moving the ride or adding some things to it. they dont need to close rides they need to add rides!

My DD(4) will be heartbroken if Snow White closes. We rode that thing 9 times on our trip last month. One night she rode it 5 times in a row, and she would have kept going, but we cut her off. I was really scared of that ride when I was little, but for some reason she absolutely loves it.

While I was scared to death of this ride as a kid, I would still hate to see it go. I'm not big on change unless it is additions. To remove something, especially a classic, always makes me sad!

I haven't read anything definitive, but it'll be a sad day when they close it down. I never enjoy seeing legacy rides get closed down. Just seems like they replace them with rides that require taller and taller riders. Too bad for my kids, one less ride they'll be able to ride.

I always thought that this was the weakest of the Fantasyland attractions and was disappointed when they closed Toad instead of this one. I understand why they want Snow White in an attraction but still...

However, I'm not sure if closing another classic is the way to go either. Why not redo the ride but leave it as a dark ride that everyone can ride?

sorry...but I for one would be totally okay with this one going....while I enjoy classic rides like Peter Pan and Small World....Snow White is one that is skipped everytime and I dont ever miss it. Rode it with my son when he was two last year and covered his eyes for the good majority of it...and thought it looked really cheap/carnival-like and cheezy. Sorry I'll probably get slammed for it...but ready to see what else Disney can bring to this ride.

:( My 3 year old niece (who is not easily scared) loves Snow White and this was the only ride she seems to care about from all the pictures and videos she's seen... she can't even remember the other ones but she wants to see Snow White's ride. I hope they don't close it.

We always enjoy riding this ride (at Disneyland). There is almost no line, and it is enjoyable for the whole family. At least if they close it, they still have it at Disneyland, like Mr Toad. :) So it isn't gone forever.

Not slammed by me. But I would like something more family friendly there. It never has a line which is its only selling point.

If they can get rid of Mr. Toad's Wild Ride, they can get rid of SWSA. And put in something better. =p

It does need to be updated, but then so does Snow White. I think that goes with her movie looking aged and the kiddies wanting the computer animation. Were they to redo Snow White and the Seven Dwarves in computer animation and redo the ride to match you would see a difference.

Myself, I LOVE the original, but I'm a looooooong way off from being 5 years old too. We have to remember that the "classics" that we love as adults might look old and tired to the newer generations. I could certainly live without the chili dog burp that Stitch delivers, but my DS who is 16 counts that and Stitch as part of his childhood.

Whatever they do I really, really hope that they don't completely eliminate Snow White from the park. As a poster on another thread pointed out, Snow White is a big part of Walt Disney's history and success.

Has a date been announced for the final day of this attraction?
Why do you think it's closing?
The release below seems to indicate that it isn't. At least not soon.

Question - Is all of Fantasyland closed/closing?
