I have actually booked!:banana::banana::banana:

I can't believe it - I've finally got a date for our first ever trip to WDW. So far just flights booked: 3 adults, 2 children Man - Mco with Virgin 29th October 2012. The price was £2796, which I am happy with.:)

It took a lot of sleepless nights and deliberation but I have decided to book early so that I know what I'm paying for flights as they were my main concern. I can't believe we'll be there for Halloween! Bring it on!:cool1:

:cool1::cool1::banana::banana::banana: I'm so happy for you. Now the flights are booked its a reality for you. Enjoy your 18 months of planning :banana:

ps price seems pretty good too :thumbsup2

:thumbsup2 Wahay. Nice one.

That time will go quick enough. This trip was 514 days out when we booked. Now down to just 139 - in what feels like the blink of an eye.

Happy Planning! :cool1:

Can I ask how you managed to get a flight only price for Oct 2012? All I've seen is package holidays with Virgin (flights, hotels and car hire).

I thought Virgin only released their flights 330 days out?

Glad you are sorted - let the planning commence!

Good price for booking so far out - who did you book with?

Does that mean that travel agents can book flights earlier?

I was always under the impression TA can sell flight only early but they are at risk of price increases when they are released for general sale. Juliette has been told the price is fixed with no risk of increase.
A few years ago there were a few reports of people being asked to pay more so not sure how it all works, might have something to do with paying all upfront as opposed to deposit only.

Thanks everyone.:goodvibes

Val (CindersMum) on The Dibb has booked a flight only for me. She works for this company http://www.travelcounsellors.co.uk/Destinations#83DDA76E-18B9-48E0-9627-A1779A8F0E3E

I have been PMing poor old Wayne about what to do and after a lot of deliberation and advice (thanks Wayne:flower3:) I decided to pay a deposit of £250, which means that I will get a package, plus all of the protection that hopefully goes with it. It means that Val will also book my accommodation, which is fine by me.:thumbsup2 She has daid that she will also book my ADR's if I want her to.

I thought long and hard and decided that £250 would secure a price that I was happy with, but if anything went wrong (touch wood) I would only 'lose' a small amount.:confused3 Val has told me that the price is now 'locked in' and will not increase. After monitoring Virgin prices, I was glad to get flights for under £3000.:thumbsup2

The advice on here made me opt for Manchester airport and also made me calm down about the crowds in Jersey Week. I'm now looking at MNSSHP too! I know that if the recession bites, I can get a cheaper hotel and eat pizza for a fortnight, so let the good times roll.:rotfl:

It feels a bit surreal to finally be able to say that we are really going. Methinks it's time to get a ticker....

well done, how lovely that you get so long to plan it as well, i love the planning stage :goodvibes

Behold my beautiful ticker...

I wonder if Wayne will block my PM's now that I have 1 year, 7 months and 3 weeks to plan.....:rotfl:

Always great to see someone with a new ticker(I have no room for one:rotfl:)

Never had to block anyone yet but 1 year, 7 months and 3 weeks of planning I am sure there are going to be a lot of planning questions:thumbsup2

Congratulations!! Glad you have booked up were, going to stick it out and wait until 11 months out - might live to regret that decision!:confused3

Look forward to hearing anout all your plans :)
