Morning!

6 1/2 hours between posts? Wow, must be a record...

Or, maybe the disboards were down?

DW has been helping me clean up pics for our TR. She just sent me this one, and due to the somber nature of a lot of today's thread, I figured I'd post it.

After all who doesn't like wishes (besides people that don't like loud noises)

Awesome pic. I have never caught that magically shot but will someday, I PROMISE!

I would love to buy a DIS Dad window decal! :thumbsup2

Well... what kind of decal are we looking for? I was thinking a simple one with the logo and maybe the slogan underneath... like this:

DDC%20Decal%201%20Small.png

Maybe about 3" or so?? Thoughts??

I would definitely represent on my vehicle. But am I the only DisDad that is gonna need a smaller one also for my fire helmet?

Works for me on IE8. In other news, investigating your link caused me to see this:

disney_ps.png

If I had Ps here I'd fix it myself.

I caught that also. I think my DD would have caught it.

Shirts = check

Window decals = coming soon

DisDad tattoo = who will be first??????

I have already started thinking about. My next one to celebrate my weight loss has a hidden mickey in already, but things can change, since it hasn't been started yet.

WE'RE WATCHING YOU LURKERS!!!!! Get em Fed!!!!!

HAHA

Thanks, Chris  I had a big speech all prepared and I wanted ownage to post it, but .................JK!!!:lmao::lmao::lmao:

Thanks guys for accepting me into the club!!! :thumbsup2
It has been and will continue to be fun to share this board with all of you. :worship:

SHUTDOWN AVERTED!

party::jumping1:party:

Hooray for Fed and Aaron!

Very nice. I am glad the shutdown was averted.

Here are a couple of pictures of me sporting my DisDad shirt in California Adventures. I couldn't resist the location. :lmao:

Oh, the hat? Both my sister and my daughter thought I needed to wear it for DW's and mine 34th wedding anniversary. :rolleyes1

Very Cool! :thumbsup2

So far nothing new today. I think they are pretty much on autopilot today. I am not sure if they have made funeral arrangments yet...Although, I have heard that his family is wanting it done sooner rather than later...she is just pulled in too many directions right now. I am sure that church tomorrow is going to be rough on everyone!

Your friends are still in our thoughts and prayers.

Question for you. What Apps or websites do you use to stream Park Music?

I've played around with Disradio and Mouseworld radio. Mouseworld's web interface is nice but they only offer 1 channel through their app.

Here is one that we listen to regularly. Don't know if there is a phone app or not because we don't do the Smart Phone thingy yet at the blockhead house. Actually, I'm listening to it right now as I post (Fantasmic full audio is playing).

You can request music on about 8 different servers depending on what you want to listen to. They also have some forums and some Disney trivia, which is great. We're talking just about everything that Disney has put out, from hotel area music, to Soarin, to the full Illuminations loop, to It's a Small World :scared1:. Great stuff.

Holly Beverly! We just got pounded by a serious hailstorm. I’ll check for damage in the morning but the sun has already gone down and there are more storms on the way so we’re looking out for possible tornados. It sounded like the house was just being pelted by an army of really bad golfers and it damaged and beat the trees so hard that the entire neighborhood smells like fresh cut Christmas trees. Here’s a couple of pictures from the middle of the downpour..

Guess that it got to you before it got to us in the Old North State. We were at the soccer field playing in the middle of a monsoon when we saw a huge streak of lightning. Well, everyone jetted for cover at the shed that is on the fields. When we got there, it began hailing. Lucky for where we were, there wasn't much and it didn't last for long. It was a tad smaller than golf ball sized hail, but much larger than any hail that I've ever seen. It did give me a chance to utter that great line, "hey, who in the hail do you think you are?" Only a couple of people got it, though, so it may not be as great as I think it is :lmao:

On a good note, DS team won 6-3. They have a return match with the top team in the league today (they lost last Sunday against this team, 6-3). Hoping they can pull off the stunner, and it would be a stunner as this team has just been killing teams all year long.

As much as I love Disney, as all of us know, it is not a "relaxing" vacation. It is more of an "active" vacation. I carried a pedometer last year, and we easily walked 8-10 miles on most days. A slow day was around 6 miles. I tell people, if your idea of a vacation is to lounge around a pool or beach or resort all day, don't go to Disney.

ClearScreen

I just can't envision sitting around all day doing nothing on vacation, if I was with the family...I always want to go somewhere or do something!

Hey guys, just thought I'd share - Disney-fan blogger DragynAlly did an Email interview with me last week. She's just posted the interview on her blog. I hope I represented us well. You can read the interview here: http://www.dragynally.com/

Aaron, you did a great job. I think you represented who we are and what we do well. Now if only someone at Disney would see all this and say "We need to bring all these guys down so they can give us their insight into the parks in person". It's a dream :rotfl2:

Well, that storm system moved through and we were fairly lucky. More damage was done to the south and southeast then right where I am. A good inspection this morning revealed a few rips in the window screens but no holes in the siding. There are a few very small pump-dents in the truck, but nothing that bad. The power was only out for a couple of hours, but that was minor as well. All things considered, not as bad as it could have been.

Now that everything has calmed down a bit, I had a chance to go back a couple of pages and see what’s up with y’all.

Most excellent. Oh, and happy anniversary too.

Steve, we’re still keeping those folks in our thought down this way.
We’d do more if we could.

You done good… :thumbsup2

This is our logo, on a navy blue jersey:

To my eye it’s more Zombie like then Rebel like, but either way, I like it.

I finally got the chance to go back and listen to the podcast. Great job by everyone. It seems like the dads have way more in common than I ever expected. I am deifnitely honored to be affiliated with a great group of people!

Thank you all for the fun times, and mindless banter!

Wow that's some sort of magical picture trifecta. Nice job.

Thanks for the tip. That site also has a movie soundtrack station. Even though it doesn't have an app, it does have quicktime streaming so apple devices can stream it from a browser.

For what its worth I would have laughed at your hail joke.

I just can't envision sitting around all day doing nothing on vacation, if I was with the family...I always want to go somewhere or do something!
When I was younger, we had a term for just sitting around and doing nothing, and it wasn't "vacation". It was called "being grounded" and it usually followed me doing something wrong.

Why would I want my vacation to be the same thing as a punishment:confused3

Glad there was no major damage.

Yeah, I haven't been around all that long, but I am pretty consistently surprised by how much many of the dads seem to have in common.

So last night I was watching tv with DW and she switched to a DVC informercial
that she had DVR'd. (yeah I know aren't those things mainly used to skip commercials) It was actually kind of disappointing. The whole point of the informercial seemed to be "you can use your DVC points at lots of non-Disney places." While that's great, I'm guessing the majority of people that buy into DVC do it because they are going to go to Disney frequently. I wish they would have spent more time showing the perks of DVC ownership when at Disney rather than focusing on I used DVC points to go to London.

believe it or not , that is the most asked question i get. can you go anywere else but disney?:confused3 or what if you get tired of going to disney? i have no clue what that means but i try to answer it. and the next question is, man, thats not cheap, its cheaper staying at pop.

anyone else have a hard time logging in this morning? i couldnt get onto the site. than, i couldnt log into the site. :confused3

I understand that that'd be a question people would have, but my guess is if their goal is to vacation at places other than Disney there are probably cheaper ways to do it.

I need to find a spare 20K before it becomes a big issue for me though.

i never looked into going other places with dvc. i know stopher has and on the dvc threads people say there are better ways of doing it. we bought ours to gp to disney. i know even the vcr tapes i have from the 90s of dvc, they push more of the wdw parks and okw and boardwalk. they do go into the other destinations but not into to many details.
