"SUCK IT UP BUTTERCUP! It Builds Character and Strength!" A July 2011 TR-COMPLETE 4/5

That PB&J milkshake looks amazing!!!
It is going on THE list!
Well you find out in the next update!
HILARIOUS. I love fake suspense!
That is so rad that he remembered! I wonder if he knows he has youtube fame because of you guys haha What a great guy.
Your pluto is lovely! Totally agree on the collage idea:thumbsup2
Those pictures are soooooo nice. I really must stay there one of these days :goodvibes

Yay! 50's Prime Time! I'm so excited to read about this because I'm going there for the first time (in about 15 days... but really, I mean, I'm not like counting down or anything... nope... ;) ) so yay!

I love Disney napkins too! Little touches like that really just add so much! And hey if you needed a reminder that you weren't actually IN the 50's, that napkin would certainly do the trick.

HOW FUN that Mark remembered yall! That's the coolest thing! I get the feeling sometimes that people pretend to remember people to make them feel better, but there's no way that was fake! So that's really cool! What an awesome guy... now I'm seriously hoping he'll be our waiter!

That DHS shirt is awesome! Although... why's Wall-E there? :confused3

Okay so that's a really good Pluto! Props. :cool2:

Yay 50's Prime time :) That is defintely a must-do place for me :) The food there is amazing! I personally am a fan of their chocolate shake as far as milkshakes are concerned. I have been curious for a while now what the peanut butter shake is like though. My brother (who is actually getting married on saturday and will be in disney for his honeymoon over christmas break) is a peanut-butter-holic and is pretty much guaranteed to try everything peanut butter possible so my mom and i have always wondered what the peanut butter shake is like because of him.

As for my actual meal i am a huge fan of the fried chicken (always have been) and my mom is a big fan of the pot pie. Even though i personally have never had the pot pie, i think it looks AMAZING!!!! My mom pretty much always finishes every bite 2 which obviously mean she loves it!

I love the servers at 50's primetime as well! They always make for great stories. my favorite server story at 50's prime time involves a server making my mom lean against a wall in "timeout". I was really young at the time so i think the server did that partially because i was there but it was still hillarious!

Mmm, I love that berry smoothie at 50s Prime Time Diner. I'm really jealous you got a tv table, I've never had one! Also, just as an FYI for Dave - the absolute best meatloaf on property is at Big River Grill & Brewing Works on the Boardwalk. So amazing.

I've eyed that DHS shirt also - it really is a travesty how few Disney shirts I own. I need to work on that.

POFQ is the only moderate we haven't stayed in - I think it's going to be where we stay next time, if we don't rent DVC points so we can stay in one of the deluxes. POR is our absolute favorite resort we've stayed at so far, and I love the look of the renovated POFQ rooms. I especially love riding the boat to Downtown Disney and seeing/hearing the horse & carriage going around the resort.

It is fabulous! Definitely a must-try.

HAHA why thank you. :P

I know! He probably doesn't...I should have told him!

Thanks! Yeah I really wanna do that!

Your really should. It's even more beautiful in person. :-)

Ahh are you really1? That's so exciting!!! If you weren't counting down, I would be very worried/confused.

Yes it would! Because Disney World didn't even exist then! I know it's so surreal you often forget where you are!

Yeah I know! It was AWESOME. Yeah there was no way he could have been faking it. He had facts! I hope you get him too! Maybe you can request him...? If so, his name is Mark from NY.

I know!! Maybe because he's Pixar?? IDK. I want it though. :-)

Thank you!! :)

It is! I love it so much there. I go almost every trip. The chocolate milkshake is delicious too, I love it. You should definitely try to PB one though.

Ahh that is SO exciting!!! Congrats to him! :thumbsup2 What a great place to get married/honeymoon. That's where I want to do both of those things. :goodvibes He should go there and try it! He would probably LOVE it.

I LOVE the fried chicken. That's what I usually get. Amazing. They are both SO yummy it's not even fair.

They are awesome! Haha that's gotta be the best when you're little...seeing your mom get put in time-out.

It's delish! I love the TV tables, they're the best. Mmm I will have to remember to tell him that for future trips! Thanks!

I own a LOT. But I want that one too...hehe.

You definitely should if you don't rent points! It's awesome! I've never stayed at POR, but I REALLY REALLY want to. It looks gorgeous! The new POFQ rooms are so pretty though, I love them. I love the boat to DTD too. It's perfect. And the carriage...ahh  POFQ and POR are pretty similar in those aspects, so I think they're both worth a shot, but everyone has their favorites of course.

So I was on Simple Disney things and I saw...

(Sorry for just a link, but I couldn't get it here so I just uploaded it to flickr. By the way, like my name? :rotfl:)

Oh. My. Gosh. SOOOO true. That girl definitely knows what she's talking about. That is amazing. I  Kinkade.

It's totally fine. I followed the link lol. :) Yes I do love your name! :thumbsup2

Ahhhh 50s Prime Time! I am dying to eat there. We were supposed to go in July, but we ended up changing things around. Next summer, I'm making an ADR and going for sure.

A SPECIAL NAPKIN PIC JUST FOR ME!!!!!! You know me so well. :upsidedow

Oh, just wait 'til you see the pictures of my table at Cape May. I don't care that I'm 21. If you put crayons in front of me, I'm gonna use them. :cool2:

What a great story! Mark sounds like an awesome CM.

Excellent POFQ pics. It looks so pretty. :cloud9:

First of all, you are SO cute!!! :cutie: I love your expressions and how excited you get about things. THAT'S what Disney is all about!! :thumbsup2

I love trip reports that are fun with lots of pics, so your report is perfect! Waiting patiently (or not...) for the next update!! :rolleyes1

GOOD POINT. Hahaha and I'm now down to 11 days! WOOO.

OH MY. I am going to request him. Because he just seems that awesome.

Haha yeah that's probably it. It just struck me as odd! At first I didn't see little Kermit up in the corner and I thought there was no mention of the Muppets on the shirt and I was like, really upset. But then I found him. I was about to call the authorities. ALERT THE MEDIA. Good thing I found him because WHO KNOWS what kind of chaos could have ensued. ANYWAYS, I want that shirt too! It's awesome. Wall-E and all. :rotfl:

50's PT looks like it was another fun meal. The PB&J shake sounds very interesting and it's so cool that Mark remembered you all from January! :goodvibes

I agree, POFQ is one of the most beautiful resorts. I'm glad you got a chance to enjoy it!

It is so fun! I'm definitely gonna go in July too! I had an ADR there for August but we ended up cancelling it, so I have to make up for it! SO worth the trip. :)

Hahaha I thought you'd like it. :P

OH me too! I love that you can color at Cape May! You just wait for that part of the August trip...it's awesome.

He was pretty fantastic.

Thanks! I love it there. :lovestruc

Aww thanks! Hehe I love Disney so much, I can never NOT get excited for everything! Disney is such a state of mind as well as a place, and you can only really enjoy it if you can appreciate it. :)

Thank you so much! I'm so glad you're enjoying it! The next update is coming very soon!

Oh my gosh I would be freaking out if I were you!!!

You should! He was absolutely the best 50's waiter EVER.

OH MY GOSH yeah I wouldn't like it unless there was Muppet representation LOL. It's such a cute one!

It really is! I love it every time. :goodvibes

Chapter 31- Hollywood- 1939 and Star Tours: The Adventure Continues

July 28th, 2011

Hi there readers! Once again, I am so sorry about my two week-ish absence from the DIS- a lot has been going on!

For example, you may notice a new ticker in my signature! That is because Allie (princessallie) has so graciously invited me to go to Disney with her and her parents in July!! I AM SO EXCITED!!! So I'll basically be spending the whole summer at Disney ONCE AGAIN! YAYY!!!! I can't WAIT.

Here's an update for all of you patient and loyal souls!

After the boys woke up and we all got ready, we headed down to the bus stop and waited only a couple minutes for a bus back to DHS.

dsc02426n.jpg

dsc02427ig.jpg

We got there at about 4:45 and headed through the turnstyles.

dsc02590se.jpg

dsc02591xx.jpg

I seriously have a newfound love for Hollywood Studios. Now that I can accept that it is no longer MGM, I really love walking down Hollywood Boulevard and seeing Streetmosphere and all the colors and sights. Ahh I just love it so very much!

dsc02592wh.jpg

We turned down Sunset and decided to see what thrills could claim our attention.

dsc02593e.jpg

This looks good! Especially because it was only a 20 minute wait! :-)

Mike and I hopped in line (Dave doesn't do freefalls) and moved through the queue pretty quickly.

When we got inside, we found the place abandoned!

dsc02594oc.jpg

dsc02597c.jpg

Uh-oh.

Foreshadowing...? Maybe!

We were then ushered into the library where an incredibly creepy Cast Member decided it would be funny to creep up behind me and breathe on my neck. Did I say creepy? Okay good. Well, this particular Cast Member did not seem to be aware that I'd put up with an incredibly sneaky brother for 16 years. Therefore, this attempt at frightening me had no effect on me whatsoever, except for that I turned around and laughed at him. It wass all rather hysterical.

Then the power went out except for the TV and we watched this little film:

dsc02600h.jpg

dsc02601b.jpg

It was really quite amusing.

Afterward, we were ushered into a rather dank boiler room and told to follow either walkway. A little while later we were seated in an elevator...?

Now really, if you honestly want me to believe that I am headed to my hotel room, but will unfortunately get electrocuted and die on the way, don't sit me down and strap me in.

Just a little advice. :-)

We tugged on the yellow strap on our left as per usual and were told to enjoy our stay.

Then we had the absolute thrill of our lives dropping to the basement of the Hollywood Tower Hotel and that was that!

Thrilling, I know.

AWESOME.

I love that ride so much. It really never gets old.

Here's our ride photograph:
dsc02603co.jpg

I'm the one making the princess face. Tehee.

Then we exited through the gift shop and met up with Dave. We decided to head to Star Tours to use our Fastpasses.

On the way...

dsc02604pe.jpg

I love that fountain!

dsc02606u.jpg

Disney Channel Rocks!...? I think...? Okay not really at ALL.

Oh well.

dsc02607dk.jpg

dsc02608b.jpg

I really love all the random stuff in Hollywood. Like this boat. It seems like it should be out of place, but it's not!

dsc02609k.jpg

FINALLY.

Mike was like peeing his pants at this point. He couldn't wait to "Ride that puppy." He's a Star Wars geek and heard so much about the new refurb that he was jumping out of skin wanting to get on the ride ASAP.

Thank God for those Fastpasses eh?

I was pretty excited myself!

dsc02615sn.jpg

dsc02616f.jpg

It. Was. AWESOME. It definitely lived up to our expectations and then some. It was so REAL. I can't even explain it, but for those of you who have ridden it, you know what I mean! And those of you who haven't yet, you're in for something AMAZING.

After completing our mission with R2D2 and the gang, we made a pit stop at the Writer's Stop before dinner for some A/C, comfy chairs, reading material....well okay that was my incentive, but really Dave just needed to call the movers for his house and Mike wanted to touch base with Katie.

dsc02628y.jpg

So I grabbed myself a nice comfy armchair by the TV and caught up on the trip journal. I didn't even get anything to eat! Like a carrot cake cookie...mmmm. You'll see why soon enough!

I also snatched up this bad boy:
dsc02629b.jpg

And perused it a bit. It's about a real live princess don'tcha know!

As soon as the boys were done with their respective conversations, which I have to admit took a WHILE...ahem *Mike* ahem...it was time to head to our 6:45 dinner ADR!

Aka you begged Allie until she agreed to take you. :lmao:

Yeah I noticed the other day that I easily adjusted to the MGM/Hollywood Studios name change. That's a good thing! :thumbsup2

HAHAHA that must have been awkward for that breathing cast member :rotfl2:

Disney Channel USED to rock. But that's over.

I love Star Tours!!! OMG I don't even like Star Wars. It's just so fun though!

Aka you begged Allie until she agreed to take you. :lmao:

Hey! No she made the decision all on her own! I was just suggesting that she should take me, because it makes sense! Her and her mom decided on their own though. I had pretty much stopped talking about it. And then she brought it up again HERSELF. SO no, I did not beg until she agreed to take me. It was all her. And you can ask her if you don't believe me. HA!

Yeah it is! I adjusted too. FINALLY. I'll probably unadjust though because Allie refuses to call it anything but MGM.

It was FUNNY for me though. Teehee I crack myself up.

Yeah it did. When Lizzie McGuire and That's So Raven were on.

ME TOO! Haha we're the same. It is SO fun! "I AM THE REBEL SPY." Oh the things to come...

I really need to book a trip so I can put a ticker in my signature. It looks naked without one. I'm jealous of your Frumpy Summer O' Disney. :upsidedow

I've realized that I now alternate between MGM and Hollywood Studios. I used to be strictly MGM, so I guess I'm adjusting too.

I will admit to still watching the Disney Channel from time to time. It's definitely not what it used to be, but if you're in the mood for stupid humor, it delivers. Kind of. Some of the songs are catchy. (I have "Best of Both Worlds" on my ipod. Don't judge me.)

So I totally need to check out the Writer's Stop. It sounds like my kinda place.

Can't wait for more!

ETA: Whoa, I don't know how this post jumped ahead of Jess because she definitely posted before me. Um....

I make them even if the trip isn't booked yet. :P Bottom line: I'M GOING.

We all are! I guess it's a good thing!

I still do on occasion too. I usually laugh at the bad acting.

We all have that song on our iPods. Let's be honest with ourselves.

It's so cute! :goodvibes It's so relaxing and it's just a nice little escape.

Yeahhh well when your trip report is as frumpy as mine, anything can happen! That is weird though.... :confused3

That's so exciting that you have 3 tickers now! I'm so jealous! I want a summer trip with my friends. :)

I'm so glad to hear such an awesome Star Tours review! I love that ride, but I'm nervous I won't like the refurb.

Can't wait to see where you guys eat!

I know I can't wait! They're gonna be so fun!!!

The refurb is amazing. I'm sure you will! It's so much fun!

It'll be good. :)

Okay, first - bahahahaha @ "Food and Frump Festival" in your ticker. Love it.

I love your closeup of the Hollywood Studios sign where you can see Mickey in the middle - such an awesome perspective!

Tower of Terror is by far my favorite ride at WDW. I could go on it again and again and again (and again.....). I always want to try and get a picture when you're up at the top and you can see the park, but I'm afraid I won't hold on to my camera tight enough and it'll fly out of my hands. One day...

YOU DIDN'T GET ANYTHING TO EAT AT WRITER'S STOP??? Hrmph. Your dinner had better be good....

woah you ticker-a-holic! That is quite a collection!
So happy for you:goodvibes You're going to have such an amazing time...s
Ooh I have had a few creepy 'breathing down the neck' cast members...
Love it. Those creepers :rotfl:
Although if some guy dressed as a bellhop just came and breathed down my neck randomly on the street one day....that is a little less magical... ick
Oh Disney channel... let us remember the good old days...sigh
Cant wait to ride the new star tours! REAL star adventures are the best...
Oh William and Kate... they just made it onto a coin here. High fives for them as I am sure that was on their bucket list....
