OP earlier said he was on his own with a friend at AKV.

Serious question... Any Disney age limits and does it make it difference if it's DVC?

Why won't the Dis web masters give us a troll smilie, WHY???:stir:This is as close as I can get.

Look at where he's from... I'm not from Baltimore, but I am a Ravens fan. To be fair, after yesterday's performance, we're all a little on edge. 32 yards, really?!

I'll be at Disney in 19 days, and fake finger print scanners or not, I seriously hope I don't have to run into Tom Brady. :guilty:

actually it would be "they're fake" not "there fake"

"thought people would not think people would figure" is really terrible writing.

You should stretch your brain a little before you throw the word dumb around.

Dear MichaelForbin,

If you've decided to take on the worthy project of correcting grammar, spelling, and usage on message boards - you my friend have a lifetime of work and sorrow ahead of you.

You are your generation's Sisyphus.

Good Lord that's a creeeeepy picture...but funny.

OP - Angry Baltimorans like you are the reason I left Baltimore.

To add a forth option, if the tickets where purchased at the same time they could be linked so either your's or your friend's fingers would have worked for either ticket.

Its to keep the line moving. :thumbsup2

Isn't there a 5th option here? Correct me if I'm wrong here, but the very first time you run a ticket, it has no data, so when it asks for your finger it's taking data for the frist time. It uses that data to compare to later times when the same card gets scanned at another park or another day. So, if he put his finger in when his friend scanned his ticket, guess what: when his friend scans his ticket next time and puts his own finger in....it may reject him because it's still looking for the finger scan it first saw when the ticket was first used.

Yep that would certainly cause issues. :thumbsup2

Well I'am really mad because when scanning my stroller I got whacked in thier ankles with a really ugly Clown slide. I stormed over to MCO and slept they're overnight until I cooled down and could complain about a club level CM staring at me while I munched on an inferiror club level offering.

did I miss anything?

I am really mad that I found that the finger print scanners are fake. I'm mad because it slows down entering the park by a lot and ever since they have gotten them it has pissed me off! I found out there fake by put my finger on my friends scanner when he entered. If Disney thought people would not think people would figure this out there dumb. I guess Disney can't afford real ones!:3dglasses

I'm really mad that I found out all of WDW is fake. ;)

Sometimes the scanners are turned off---when the lines back up. Also, tickets purchased in a single transaction are generally transferrable. And, finally, there is a chance of a false positive.

However, having personally seen people turned away using tickets not their own, I can tell you that they do act as a deterrent.

Still better than USF where team members take everyones ticket and scan it . . . IMHO

Ooh, I've actually found that we get through much MUCH faster than at Disney, since they do it all shift long and have it down perfectly.

I think 18 is the age you can check in on your own?

...ever since they have gotten them it has pissed me off!

Haven't they had them for ages and ages? And aren't the ones they have now (single finger) easier than the double-finger ones they had before?

The finger scans for all tickets go back to the start of MYW tickets. I think they have done the single finger scan since 2006.

The old "peace sign" scanners went back a few years before, although my memory isn't certain if they were in use as far back as 1997 when we first went to WDW. They were more difficult for people to use though, as it was difficult to explain to guests how they should place their fingers. The newer ones are generally faster and easier.

And as someone with firsthand knowledge if these things, they DO work. They just aren't always used, and as everyone stated above, there are other exceptions.
