September 2012 code watch!

Last WDW trip I planned was 2007-- boy, am I "rusty"!! Just yesterday we decided FOR SURE that we are going in Sept. - prob 8th-15th. Numbers crunching already has my head spinning.

Was reading about the YES program. We do homeschool 15 yo DS, so the Magic of Animation program is tempting, but I still think the Free Dining will save us more $.
So add me to those wishing for free dining plan!!!:thumbsup2

Hi everybody - so glad to have found these boards. My DH thinks I'm seriously obsessed with this trip to Disney, and you know what? He's right! :rotfl2:

I have only been to WDW once, when I was 7 so I'm loooooong overdue. I've been wanting to take the kids for quite a while, but one thing or another it just hasn't worked out. Well, my DS will be 9 next month so I figure it's now or never to get a little price break on the child tickets / food / etc. He and my daughter (6 in April) are so excited, too!

I have made a reservation for 9/14 - 22 for one of the cabins at Ft Wilderness, but booked at rack rates :scared1: and having serious vacation planners remorse. I'm so torn - I *really* want us to stay there, but hate giving Disney that kind of $$$ just for a place to stay.

Anyhow, I have been lurking around for a few days and decided to post. I need some other adults who can share my excitement, LOL! Looking forward to getting to know you all

Julie

Julie,
Hooray for your trip!
Word on the street is that if an offer comes out that your reservation qualifies for, you can have it applied to your reservation! :)
So don't have remorse!! Its all good!

Don't forget that if you do YES tickets, you can also do a room only discount, so that's basically double savings. I'm not sure which will work out better for us yet but I am really thinking YES with a room discount would be the winner. Not that I have a choice! Of FD is the only discount, it would save us more than YES.

Julie, we will be there the same time (we go Sept 13-21). Even though we have been before i to feel that the planning and counting down takes over. Too much excitement to look forward too.

Ya, I'm thinking the same thing. YES + Rm Only- if no FD. Prob wd drop down to Value Resort in that case and shift the money toward food. I'm concerned tho that the YES will fill up or they will disallow non-group sign-ups before the FD or Room Only is released. It's a matter of timing. Fingers crossed!

Thanks, Ash - the rep I talked to when I made the reservation said I could "modify" it if any deals came up, so I'm hopeful. I'm wondering if it's too soon for me to call & see if I have a PIN, since I just made the reservation a couple of weeks ago. :goodvibes

i called last night, no pin for me :-(

still hoping for a room only discount or a stay and play. IMO free dining is not that great of a deal especally when half the stuff they give you "free" is not stuff i would actually eats. I only drink water, don't have dessert with every meal (and if we do we share) and Hubby and i can often share a meal. i did the math last time and was able to feed my whole family at disney for under $200 so it was a way better deal to book a stay and play deal for us.

we may be off in our march 1st new-offer-expectations...

http://www.mousesavers.com/historicalwdwdiscounts.html#2011

looks like in 2011 room discounts & kids stay/play free were offered for august-october from 1/3/11 - 3/27/11

then free dining was offered for august-september from 8/16/10-12/20/10 then again 5/2/11-8/27/11

that said - it also seems like WDW is going on a whole different schedule this year for their promotions. probably because of OMDD today.

who knows. they just can't be predictable!!! haha

We could be as far as two months away from a discount. Oh boy.

Where did the March 1st hoopla come from anyway?:confused3

wishful thinking?! lol
also, the current deal expires today so i think everyone hoped (assumed) that WDW would release a new offer right away.

i'm still keeping my fingers crossed!! :D
I need a deal to be released so I can FINALLY convince my fiance that we can't afford to NOT going to WDW for our honeymoon!!! hahaha

Just moved our dates from October.

QUESTION: To see if I have a pin, all I have to do is call and give them my name?

on the WDW site for special offers... they just extended the current offer to march 31st.
travel dates April 13 - June 14

looks like we'll be hoping for pin codes and waiting until April now!

I just got a FREE DINING PIN!
I about peed my pants!!
Then I realized it was for travel dates 3/4-3/31 & 4/14-6/30
LAME! What a tease...

This is our thinking as well. I know we'll spend more than $200 on food but certainly not even close to what Disney "gives" you for free dining. Meanwhile, you are paying rack rates on rooms. I'd much rather have a discount on the room or the stay and play.
