I was pleasantly surprised to see all the writers and readers on Disboards.:cool1:
So I thought it would be cool to have a thread about reading and writing, what we're reading and what we're writing. To start off conversation here are some questions, but once you answer them feel free to post about anything about writing and reading and stories and books:
1.Favorite book
2.I like to write:
3.My fave genres and authors

1.Favorite book:I'm not sure. I really liked Alice in Wonderland, Little Women, Anne of Green Gables and American Girl books, and Jane Eyre and Wuthering Heights. Ugh, I can't properly answer my own question! I'll say it's a tie between the first three:).
2.I like to write:Everything. I write , and I'm inspired by dreams, my own imagination, random events and can it be in any genre. But, I'm focusing on writing a contemporary novel and a fantasy one to start a fantasy/science fiction/adventure/action series.
3.My fave genres and authors: I love historical fiction, and I've been enjoying classics as well. My fave author is probably my mom(she wrote a novel). But after her, I'll say Lucy Maud Montgomery because Anne is so cool.

Hope everyone has fun talking about reading and writing! :hyper:

Favorite book: I hate that question because I can never decide, so I'm going to say Harry Potter to make it easy.
I like to write: Fiction. Right now I'm working on the Hogwarts RP as my project. I really have to get into a character to get to know them and be able to know what actions they'd take, and that has allowed me to do so.
Favorite genres/authors: I've been reading the classics since I was young, so definitely those. And I don't really have a favorite author so I'm going to (again) make it easy and say J.K.Rowling because I love the was she wrote the Harry Potter series.

Favorite Book: kingdom Keepers series
I like to write: oMG, yes I love to write!! I wrote a short. 50 page story called "A Magical Vacation" about a 13 year old girl named Sarah going on vacation with her friends to WDW for a week! I like to write Disney stories. The story I wrote has 32,000 words and I hope to publish it!
Favorite Genre: Fantasy & Fiction!

1.Favorite book: Harry Potter series, Percy Jackson series, Kingdom Keepers series, Divergent series, Anne of Green Gables (I totally agree with you about her, I'm reading her before I head up to PEI to visit my relatives[I'm Canadian])

2.I like to write: I'm actually writing like a half dozen books, and I probably have I don't know how many in prewriting, definitely a double digit number. I also dabble in poetry, but mainly I write fantasy/scifi/adventure/action novels or contemporary ones.

3.My fave genres and authors: My top three favorite authors have to be J. K. Rowling, James Patterson, and Rick Riordan. I like fantasy, science fiction, action and adventure the best, because usually they're good. I'm choosy about my contemporary fiction, because a lot of times they'll be too romantic for me to stomach. It's all right if it's a side plot, but if it's the whole thing, I can't take it, I start wanting to tell the girl to get over it. There are exceptions though.

1.Favorite book: Favorite book? More like books! :rotfl: But seriously...most of these have already been stated anyway, but Harry Potter, Divergent, Kingdom Keepers, and I love Anne of Green Gables too! I really just love to read. I'm literally identical to Belle. Right now I'm reading The Book Thief by Marcus Zusak. It's really good :thumbsup2
2.I like to write: action/adventure, realistic fiction, etc. Sometimes even Disney tour guide books... Right now I'm working on an adventure novel.
3.My fave genres and authors: Action/adventure, realistic fiction, historical fiction, non-fiction, sci-fi, fantasy, I'm sorry, I like everything... :rotfl2: James Patterson, Ridley Pearson, J.K. Rowling, etc etc

My favorite book is Papillon. I love to write short stories and poems about life and experiences . Favorite type of books are non-fiction historical novels. Mostly WW II era or exploration type. No favorite author due to the type of books I like, most are written by the person who lived it and they only write one maybe two books.

I had to read The Book Thief for eighth grade! So not revealing anything!

Favorite Book: Uh................there are billions of them that I really enjoy. I don't really have an answer for that one.
I like to write: Mostly fiction. I've got a lot of unfinished stories on my computer right now (most of them I know won't go anywhere) but I guess my thing with writing is sort of fantasy.
One of the top three I am currently working on is about a girl who is an empath and it turns out her family has witches in it, and there is this boy who comes out of nowhere to protect her from the villain. I don't want to give too much away, but let's just say I have plans for a big reveal involving the protecter. It's a very fast paced book if you're like me and you love fast paced stories, so hopefully I can finish it.
Favorite Authors: I think currently it's a tie between Tracy Deebs (author of my favorite mermaid series ever!) and James Patterson (I love Maximum Ride so much and I didn't know what to do after it ended!)
I just recently got into books by Rick Riordan. (A few people kept telling me to read them, so I finally got tired of all the pestering and it turns out that his books are really good.)

Yes, I have so many in my head, that have not yet been written. I try to write one novel or short story, and end up switching to a new one. But I'm not going to let it happen this time: to help I'll work on my two most developed stories at once.
I also mess with poetry, and once made a really long poem, all about fantasy and fairy tales.

I have been terrible about reading lately, but I loved Harry Potter (My favorite), Percy Jackson, The Illustrated Man, and Kingdom Keepers.

I'm not really into writing stories. I'm just not that great at it. On the other hand, I LOVE writing for the stage and flim. I wrote a movie four years ago and this year I wrote a short play. I'd highly recommend trying it. I'm itching to write a new one soon.

My dream is to write my novels, for them to be successful, and then to write a script to turn them into movies. I also want to act in the movies I write.:)

I don't mind: thanks for giving me a nickname! :yay: And your welcome.:)

I've read most of the books in my house(Except a few dictionaries and romance novels my mom won't let me read) so I need a trip to either the bookstore or the library pretty bad. But, for now I'll read to my mom, I do it when she's resting sometimes. I'm reading Jane Eyre for the second or third time , though it's the first time I read it to my Mom. She knows the story, but it's been awhile since she's read it.
