I'm at an offsite hotel right now unable to sleep. I'm surprising dd8 and dh tomorrow. They have no idea we are checking in tomorrow for our first stay at pop.

Now at POP. Watching a halloween movie at the hippy dippy pool!

oh you are one lucky person:thumbsup2
I cannot imagine a better place to watch
a Halloween movie than at Pop! We always
have our WDW vacation in May (once in November)
but both of my sons have been to MNSSHP. Now
I am busy trying to save and plan an October trip
in addition to our traditional one. We love Pop &
will probably book there again for May.
Have a magical Halloween!

I hope you have a magical time. Be sure to try some tie-dyed cheesecake from the food court - it is wonderful;)

Thanks! I will. About 2 hours till I surprise them and 8 hours till check in. I'll try to tone down my excitement to report back about bedding, fridges, and kttw cards.

So I'm noticing a lot of things about the towel animals and the friendly housekeeping,

Does anyone ever request no cleaning services? Is there a do not disturb door hanger?

This might be weird but I'm really OCD about having people clean my hotel room with my stuff in it. I usually always request no room service

Also, do the pop rooms having a *working* room safe? I ask working because my last two hotels (not at disney) had safes but the locks were either broken or they didn't have a key for it lol I'd like to leave some valuables back at the room but I don't want to have to worry about them

Our safe works. Only towel animals we saw all week were the ones in the window.

Yes, there is a "privacy please" sign. However, if they are dropping off something, they will not only knock but also attempt to enter the room.

We had requested extra washcloths (2 is not enough for us). When we returned for a nap, we didn't have them (and they had cleaned) so I called again. About 20 minutes later, bang bang bang! We ignored it since we weren't dressed and had the sign on the door. I assumed they would leave them outside, but we later got woken again by the banging and then heard someone try to open the door! Luckily we had the bolt locked.

Just a word of warning if you're planning on a late dinner at Pop....

We planned on grabbing a bite to eat after we got back from Downtown Disney last night at 11:10. Despite the food court being open til midnight, only ONE station was open!! If the place had been empty our the resort at low capacity, that would make more sense. But there were still a lot of people in there. That was disappointing.

Leaving today for the airport to arrive this evening. How are the crowd levels at the park compared to summer and other times? First time we have gone this time of year..

Haha, I was down on my hands and knees moving my dollar bill up the wall and a family walked by and looked in the window at me like I was crazy. If that was a DISer, hi I'm the crazy lady in building 1 :rotfl: Glad to help!

Just my opinion, but people are saying its busy and honestly I don't see it at all. I got so much done at MK EMH the other day that by 11am I was just meandering around waiting for my BOG FP+. Today I'm at AK, and its not 11am yet and I've done the safari twice, watched the African Band play, Everest four times, about to go ride Kali. Then I'll use my Safari fastpass then see FOTLK and it should only be noon. For me, that's awesome touring.

we are heading to the world in a few weeks. are they still handing out kttw cards, or do you have to specifically ask for them? (we received our magic bands in the mail a few days ago.)

I want to be at POP now!!!! March can't come fast enough. Anyone there now want to help me out and post some pics to hold me over. This is the first time in a few years we are not going this year!

I got one when I checked in on Tuesday, without asking for it, but rumor is that after the 27th, some resorts will stop handing them out altogether

Here now.

Fridge update:
Just installed ours in building 2, 4th floor.

They are in the process of "weaning" guests off room keys. Last Friday when we checked in the whole system was down. We were given a master key for our rooms and told to come back in a day to get individual keys. When I did, I was told to just use my magic bands for doors, parks, etcetera. I did get keys for my parents room, dad isn't loving the technology of the MB.

Crowds are much higher than past years during this week. We've been spoiled up until now. Thank goodness we know how to tour and make the systems work to our advantage. This is my parents and my brothers first visit in 30 years and frankly they would be in a huge pickle if I wasn't here to guide them in the right (less crowded) direction.

Where are you getting that info from?
Because the rumors we are hearing from the higher ups is if you are insistent enough, you will be able to get a KTTW card but they are really going to try to get people to use the Magic Bands.
