Unfortunately they do charge it to the room, and even if you try to give them a separate credit card to charge, it usually winds up on the hotel bill anyway. Can you give your mom a Disney gift card that she can use to pay that part of the bill when she checks out? She doesn't even have to know how much it's for...

I have been getting Disney gift cards over the past couple of weeks so I'll just add them to the stack she has and tell her not to look at the bill.

When I placed my recent cake order from CR, delivered to BLT on October 10, I specifically asked that it be charged to my CC. The CM said they could just charge it to the room, but when I asked if it could just be charged directly, he said it wouldn't be a problem. He had to take the CC info as a guarantee anyway, so it didn't create extra work I don't think. The credit card receipt was folded discretely but obviously on the cake delivery tray. Not sure if the GF would do the same, but it can't hurt to ask.

We'll be at Pop so maybe they could deliver one to the room as well ?? I may be too late, we leave on sunday...

IIRC, you can only have a cake delivered to BOG for dinner. I would just have the cake delivered to your room. I had one delivered to our room at Pop last December. It was super easy, and the CM I worked with was wonderful and very quick to respond.

Call Pop at the number listed on the first post of the thread. Let them know you want to order a custom cake. The cake itself will come from the Boardwalk Bakery, but you have to order through Pop. The CM will communicate with the bakery what you're wanting to order and see if it's possible. If they get the green light, they'll call you back to confirm the order and find out when you want the cake delivered.

The Boardwalk does nice cakes so no worries about getting a generic food court one The cake I ordered was a six-inch, covered in fondant, and I even got the cake/mousse combo I wanted (carrot cake/mocha mousse).

That's a tough one... how elaborate a cake do you want? Animal Kingdom Lodge is the only one with the ability to do fancy, fondant-covered cakes, but it can be difficult to get what you want there, and people's results have been mixed. DHS offers only basic buttercream/whipped cream covered cakes, but the ordering process isn't difficult because the options are so limited.

These days they prefer if you call Wilderness Lodge first (407-824-2090), and then if they can't do what you want, you are "allowed" to call the Contemporary to place the order (or the nice lady at WL will work with the Contemporary on your behalf).

I just called Contemporary 2 days ago to get our cake for DD's Sweet 16 at the Hoop. I had been exchanging emails with Heather to work out what I wanted & once we had it down, she told me to call & give all the timing & CC info.

I was hoping for a Mary Poppins theme cake. But I wanted something early on in the trip so we could enjoy the leftovers while we're there. And those are the places we're eating the first two days. maybe I'll give them a call and see what they suggest. I'll report back if I have any luck!

A little delayed, but I wanted to share the cake I ordered for my mom when we had dinner at 1900 Park Fare! Chocolate cake, chocolate mousse, and purple frosting. I ordered it from Pat at GF and thought she was really sweet. She got back to me 24 hours after I left a message. The service wasn't great there, as the lady at the front desk told my mom that there would be a cake (it was supposed to be a surprise) and then the waitress forgot to bring out the cake (only remembering when she brought over our check and then looked to see there was a cake on the bill). I believe I was quoted $35 but they comped the cake because of the service issues. I thought it was delicious and I was so excited about the color-changing light inside the castle! It was small, but perfect for us because we wanted to check out the dessert buffet in addition to the cake. The cake was definitely the best thing we ate there, though!

I've never seen the light up castle. That is so neat! My 5 year old would just love it. Anyone familiar enough with this topper to answer some questions about it? Wondering if GF is the only place that does it and if its small enough to fit on top of a 2 tier mini cake. I have to figure out what we are doing about cake this trip ASAP. I'm considering dropping my plan to get an elaborate 6 inch and bring it home with us.

It is not small enough to fit on top of a standard mini cake, though if the Contemporary can do one for you (they can do the white chocolate slipper, so maybe this is available too), you could order a "maxi" mini cake like the 3" + 5" we had on our anniversary.

Question for those who have ordered cakes from Pat @ Grand Floridian. We're having memories collection wedding 11/3 @ Poly & dining @ Grand after, just 4 of us so we're getting a 3 layer 6" cake. She pretty much just offered us the fiondant covered embossed mickey cake. Dont like or want to pay for the fondant; would she be open to ideas from pictures I have? Kinda want the scroll cake w/ few hearts in accent color & maybe few small flowers @ the bottom.

Sounds like 7:00-7:30 might be a good time then. Now I just need to figure out how to get my vague idea across to the right people. If you are having a cake delivered to the room, do they charge the room or can I put it on a separate card? I don't want my mom to have to buy her own cake.

You can always go to the front desk the next day and pay the cake bill so your mom doesn't get it. If you pay at the desk you can use any card and any person can pay.

Wanted to share our cakes from this weekend at lunch at Whsipering Canyon Cafe and both cakes were delicious and were beautiful!!
