It's official, Ohana menu change

Ok so not as bad as I thought, I wasn't sure if they were going to get rid of the Chicken wings, which is a dealbreaker for me :).

Although I am still bitter about them removing the scalloped potatoes years ago. Surprisingly I have come to like the noodles though.

This is terribly disappointing to me as well. The chicken was my favorite of the meats! Seems like if they were going to get rid of one it would be the pork, or even the shrimp. I mean, who doesn't like chicken?!?! :confused3

Wow that is a shame. Now I don't need to be actively hunting for a dinner ADR for 'Ohana.

. . . She said that they have chicken strips listed in their resources as available on the kids menu. Can anyone *ahem Rusty* confirm this for us??? . . .

1) I need to check into this further.
2) All that I can guarantee is
. . . Passover Chicken Tenders & Potato Croquette Child Menu
. . . 4/14 -4/21, only
. . . available at *almost* all TS dining locations, parks and resorts and shows *
3) Shall try to find more info for non-Passover.

* I don't see it at Olivia's, but I doubt it would be skipped.

If the reason is that there were complaints about the chicken, I wonder if it was coming out undercooked at times or something. I can't imagine anyone saying "I don't appreciate that you are serving chicken!" Undercooked chicken is just the thing to get people complaining to the manager. Just a thought!

Skatetigger, I figured someone would mention the potatoes of yesteryear! :lmao:

Wouldn't they have the same issue with undercooked pork then as well? :confused3

The last time we at at Ohana was YEARS ago. Could they have served turkey instead of chicken back then?

Either way, we were served under-cooked poultry (and overcooked steak.)

Undercooked poultry really sketches us out. I'll need a whole new plate, knife and fork, thank-you-very-much. And I might not come back for 10 years and counting.....

This really blows. I've never ate there or even been to the Poly. I wanted to go as a family in November but my mother only eats chicken as a protein.

Is there anything they can prepare for a picky younger child, that's not listed? We were going to go with the chicken, but since that's out...

The rest of us will love it, we're shrimp and steak folks.

They gave my kids hot dogs once.

Well that's a bummer but I will still make a reservation to eat there. I eat chicken all the time so not having any this night will not kill me. My grand daughter loves Shrimp so this works for her. I wish that they would not get rid of hit items at big ticket restaurants as it makes no since to me:confused3

I've eaten there several times over the past few years and in my experience the chicken was overcooked and dried out as opposed to being undercooked. I do wish they would have kept chicken (or even turkey) as a protein option on the skewers. Most of my family won't eat any type of seafood (including shrimp) and pork isn't our favorite. Steak we will eat but not in large quantities.

Hey what can I say, I loved the potatoes :)

I only ate the chicken out of the skewer meats. I guess now I will just continue eating bread, salads, noodles, potstickers, and the dessert.

I have to admit I liked the potatos too.

Wait, wait wait, Hang on.

If they are putting sauce on the meat then what about the peanut sauce? Will there still be peanut sauce?

Can you ask for a skewer without sauce? I don't really want sweet and sour pork, I want peanut sauce.

This is kind of major.

They used to have turkey, they used to have sausages, I always liked the turkey. They didn't use to have chicken and it doesn't really matter if you think, heck you have a plate full of chicken wings.

But what about the peanut sauce.

This is very disappointing. The chicken was the only skewer I would eat. 'Ohana is one of our favourites. :(

I simply can not wrap my head around the logic of this change.
Shellfish allergy is pretty common. Several religions prohibit pork. Why on earth would they get rid of the chicken? :confused3

I guess I see it as they still have chicken wings, maybe the chicken skewer was getting redundant. Also I've seen a lot of people complaining about the chicken being dry.

When I ate there in February, the chicken skewer was the only bad thing. Its was so dry I couldn't eat it. That's even with the delicious peanut sauce!

I, too, am disappointed the chicken is gone. We have had great dinners in the past and although Ohana wasn't a must do for us every trip, we always enjoyed it when we did go. With that said, it may not make the list anymore as I'm not sure how the new menu will go over with my DH and DSs. We do, however, love breakfast, so unless they go changing that menu, we'll still go to Ohana.

Why the chicken? Seems like pork would be the less popular of the skewer options. :confused3 (Most) Everyone eats chicken.
