What perfect timing you have.
Thanks I needed that.
Trying to figure out how to get my field days done Thursday and Friday when we are trying to melt off 8 inches of snow off our fields!
Too wet and any decision I make is gonna upset someone so I needed an attitude adjustment and that was perfect.

Have a great day everyone.

Just a heads up here- we are on "New Thread Watch"

We are getting close to the 250 page jumbo status when a thread gets closed down, so I will be starting up a new thread soon. Could be tomorrow night if I get a chance because the next few days for me are going to be super-duper crazy.

Thursday I go from volunteering at the high school library from 7-8 am, then work, then off to a doctor's appointment.

Friday, I will be gone all day- that's 7 am to 9:30 pm, chaperoning a band field trip to a competition and then Six Flags- Trills and Thrills- with 13 and 14 year olds.

Saturday is Ben's 13th BD party, capped off by a sleepover with 5 of his friends.

:scared1:

Wish me luck!

I read, I think on this thread, that you can enter the International Gateway for rope drop, and they let you walk to a rope at Epcot, so you don't have to enter Epcot at the front entrance. I then read elsewhere that they don't do this anymore. Could someone please confirm whether they do or not these days ? Thanks ! :)

Dee - Good Luck!

One month from today school ends - then I can DIS my heart away!

We have season passes to the Six Flags near us and the kids love it.

and can I just say - YIPPIE SKIPPIE!

Hi all

I've just finished the trip report on my daughter's website of our recent 9 night stay at Beach Club, during which we were upgraded to Club Level at check in.

What a great report!!! I loved reading every bit of it. Your daughter is adorable. Glad you had such a magical vacation!!!

Hi Beach Club family!!:wave2: We've been busy planing an AKL stay in September for myself and my youngest daughter and my sister and nephew. She is a single mommy, but really wanted to take him, so I gladly volunteered to take dd with her ;) :cool1:

However!!! The hubby and I will celebrate 10 years of marriage next May! So we have decided to book a Familymoon! We want our daughters to celebrate with us. We have decided to take on a much more relaxed view for this trip. Deluxe dining, no rushing (maybe two things to accomplish each day), lots of pool time, the kids want to rent one of those four person bikes (oh boy lol) etc. dh and I will also make use of Sandcastle club and go out on our actual anniversary. My oldest wanted something new and my youngest wanted beach club. Their solution? Yacht Club :lmao: lol. We love walkig to Epcot, so this is a great compromise. So we will have our first stay at Yacht Club May 5-16!

My girls are wondering, does it smell the same as Beach Club? Lol.. See you soon!!

:welcome: back!

I'll add you to the Be Our Guest list for next year.

:cool1:

I believe the same scent (Aloe and Green Clover) is piped into the YC. I haven't spent much time at the YC, so I can't confirm that the smell is as pronounced as it is at the BC.

This is quite funny to me, I was just coming on here to ask you a question about the Sandcastle Club and here you are answering a question about it:)

My question is do they still have the open house from 1 to 3 pm daily, also during the open house would my 2 1/2 year old grandson be able to come?
I know at night it is 3 and up to 12, but what I read for the open house says fun for the "Whole Family". We are thinking this might be something to do if it happens to be raining in the early afternoon. Take the kids there and do some arts and crafts!

Only 18 days to go until we are back at the BC!!!

Thanks for your help.

I pulled out my information sheet (Directory of Services & Resort Map) from my July trip. The description of the Sandcastle Club is as follows:

The Sandcastle Club is available to children 4-12 years of age, offering a variety of supervised children's activities. The Sandcastle Club is open nightly, 4:30 pm to midnight, and is located at Disney's Beach Club Resort next to Beach Club Marketplace.

If nobody else has the answer about whether the open house still happens, maybe you could call the Disney reservations line and ask there or if you are staying club level, contact them to see if they know.

:thumbsup2

Sending warm, melty wishes. Hope you don't have to settle for a "Frozen-themed Field Day"

I'm not sure if they still do the "rope" or not, but you can definitely enter through the IG to get to EPCOT in the morning at opening instead of having to go to the front. You may be a minute or so behind the guests who are let in through the front gate, but it is not a significant disadvantage.

:)

Thanks! I have been to the Six Flags near you, but we have never been to Six Flags New England. It is about 2 1/2 hours from where we live. I just got a report back from pixarmom who chaperoned a field trip to a different Six Flags and her review did not give it an extremely favorable review when compared to Disney.

And it is supposed to rain.

Friday and Saturday, for the mini-golf/go-cart/lazer tag party.

Fortunately, Ben accepted an alternative to Saturday's outdoor party activities. I texted my husband

"Plan B: Godzilla"

"The Movie?" he replied.

No. I'm having 8 13-year olds and a giant reptile. Not sure which scares me more. :confused3

"Yes. The movie"

@hill6: I received your original PM yesterday- cleared a couple of spots for a new message, and I sent you my alternate yahoo email address.

Bwahahahah.....that's hysterical!

Good luck with all of your activities! I honestly think May is the busiest time of the year for families with kids.

I was finally able to finalize our resort plans this morning. We are staying at Pop on June 4, BC CL June 5-11 and AoA June 11-14. There was no more room at the inn for those last few nights which is why we are being forced to leave our beloved BC and head over to AoA.

Have a magical day everyone!

I need the advice from the wonderful people of this thread. I am considering inviting a friend to join me on my trip to the beach club in August. However this friend is very high maintenance.

First of all she is obsessed with the Internet and in particular Disney forums. She seems to be on the web 24 /7/ 365 so I'm not sure how I'm going to pry her off of the computer and actually get her to enjoy the real world instead of the virtual world of Disney. Second of all she is obsessive compulsive and I just know that if I let her stay in the room with me she would alphabatize my underwear drawer. Misses buzzy might not like that so it could be a conflict. Third of all she is heavily into food porn, enough said. Everything I eat, and we are talking about me, Buzzy the fly, will be photographed and documented to within an inch of its existence.

Finally she is (how do I put this gently) not the quietest of sleepers. Add to the fact that she roots for those Boston area teams makes me wonder how this bon vivant, party animal of a fly is going to hang with this complicated woman. Oh people of the beach club, what should I do. Should I allow this high maintenance woman to come with me and share my Disney vacation?

The upside is that she will be a lot of fun at that reunion being held in the beach club solarium on August 18th at around 630 pm as she seems to know a ton of people on this list.

Please advise,

Signed, your pal, Buzzy the fly, the Beach Club party fly

Although it will be a great challenge, I do believe you should invite her. If she gets too crazy with the internet or sleeping too loudly, just send her to the "secret room".

I really enjoyed reading your trip report and your daughter is so cute!!! Your trip report was very insightful for me since this coming trip, we are going with my sister's family and my nephew will be almost three. I got some ideas as to what he could do while the rest of family enjoy the big rides. ;)

I promise I won't do a daily countdown but just had to pipe in with a super excited - 2 weeks from today we will be checking in to YC! At this time in 2 weeks - I hope to be checked in with bags at bell services ( unless we get lucky and room I ready) and will have already ridden ee at least once !!! Can't wait.

And yes the end of may super crazy for families - tomorrow packing up older after 1st year at college - today buying teacher gifts - Sunday baking for to put with teacher gifts - end of season sports banquets etc etc. Good luck everyone getting through the end of school stuff !!!

Dear Buzzy,

I think I know who you are taking about! I appreciate your offer, but I regret to inform you that you are too late.

A certain very generous HockeyMom and her mom have already invited me to join them during their trip to the DISMeet on Aug 18.

And I have accepted!

I look forward to seeing everyone at the meet and spending time with some very good friends who I haven't met yet!

:grouphug:

Dee

PS- I really wish you hadn't mentioned that part about alphabetizing the underwear drawer. It was going to be my little surprise thank you gift to them!

PPS- Don't worry, I would still love to document your meals in pictures. It's what I do!

Here's the dish on the meet...
