DIS friends....if you can, please send prayers for my daughter Jennifer. She was diagnosed with breast cancer yesterday. We won't know all the details until next week after the MRI. She's only 37....she's a strong lady and I know she will fight this with all that she has. Please pray for her to remain strong and positive. Thank you all so much.

Just wanted to update everyone with GOOD news. First of all, I want to thank each of you for your prayers and good thoughts.

We met with the surgeon yesterday and it's been caught early. She will have a lumpectomy on June 27th, followed by 6 weeks of radiation. After that she should be better and if need be, they will do reconstructive surgery. We are relieved and very positive that she will continue with a long normal life. Please keep us in your prayers and send all the pixie dust you can.

Sending positive vibes for your daughter. My mother was just diagnosed a few months ago. Luckily hers was caught early and treatment has been fairly straightforward with a very good prognosis. I hope for the same for your daughter.

Four years ago this July I got my diagnosis and in August 2010 had a mastectomy - there is life after that diagnosis and remaining positive and moving on with your life are both key! Prayers for your daughter - it is scary when they are so young!

Prayers and pixie dust for your whole family. I was diagnosed at 40, so I've been there. She'll get through it - just take it one step at a time.

Prayers your way for your daughter. My Mother just had a lumpectomy two weeks ago for breast cancer and we are waiting to see if she needs radiation or chemo for her next step.

Hang in there and try to think positively. Blessed Be.

Sending Jennifer bunches of positive thoughts, prayers and pixie dust. My sis was diagnosed with breast cancer last fall and her positive attitude (I believe) has made a huge difference.

She had an aggressive form, so she had a lumpectomy, followed by chemo, followed by radiation, and is now in her last few treats of Herceptin. She's done remarkable! I am more proud of her than ever, she is my hero. I can only hope that I cope with what life throw's my way with the strength that she has shown.

Hugs to you.

Prayers and pixie dust for Jennifer. My sister-in-law is a breast cancer survivor - she's celebrating 5 years cancer free. There is HOPE! This IS beatable. Sending you positive vibes!

I'll keep her, and the others mentioned in this thread, in my prayers.

In the meantime, let me give you something concrete: a wonderful community of Breast Cancer survivors here on the Disboards. http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2833381&highlight=gagwta

When I faced my mastectomy, reconstruction and radiation, I got lots of prayers and good wishes, flowers and even dinner for my family for a week.

But the women (and a few men) on that thread have walked in Jennifer's shoes, and yours too. They'll have the concrete advice on what to ask, where to look, and what to look out for. They know the nuts and bolts that only a survivor can know.

Whether or not Jennifer knows or cares about Disney, please point her to that thread.

Again, prayers for her and for your family as you get through this together.

(For what it's worth, my mastectomy was 5 1/2 years ago, and I'm now healthy as a horse!)

 Hugs, prayers, and positive thoughts from dh and me.
