WDW for Couples - Post your questions and suggestions here!!!

My husband and I have been married for 2 years and we are starting to think about having children. (He wants them yesterday LOL) He has never been to Disney so one of my requirements was that we go before we start trying because once you have children you have to wait until they are old enough to enjoy it and I'm not willing to wait 5/6 more years at this point! We are going in September and I can't wait. I have tried to make the trip as painless as possible for him (hence the non-peak time of our travel) so he will be excited about going back! I think/hope couples trip to Disney is a great idea!

Has anyone done the Illuminations Sparkling Dessert Party lately? I have if booked for my Sept trip but keep reading mixed reviews on the threads. Seriously thinking of canceling.

I would love to know more about this too. I tried to get a reservation but was not able to (and my husband doesn't really even eat dessert) but I think having a front row seat for the fireworks would be so magical!

My husband and I did it 5 times... WDW is awesome for couples.

So I canceled my reservation for IllumiNations SPD on 9/3. Switched to the Epcot After Hours Party at La Del Tequila. That seems more our style. ;)

Question on After Wind Down... Is it 35$ + park ticket or is it just 35$ and you get there after Illuminations?

Thanks in advance.

I'm looking for something to do on a saturday night (3rd week of november)...

We got married in 1986 honeymooned there and have been to Disney numerous times I enjoyed just exploring the resorts in addition to the parks. We like the parks at night too. There's a different feel with the lights & music. I'm sure you'll both enjoy your trip before you decide on having a family.

It's $35 plus park ticket
.

The reservations start after the park "closes" at about 9:10- 9:15. Included is a flight of alcoholic beverages and a small assortment of food. The event lasts until 11pm. We have not tried it yet, but have reservations at Spice Road Table in July. I like the concept of this. After hours should mainly be adults, though children are never excluded. However, parents will still have to pay $35 per child (minus the alcohol:). It gives us the chance to wind down and enjoy the solitude of Epcot long after the crowds have left.
Keep in mind that this event is Thurs-Sun and if you book on Friday, Epcot has extra magic hours, so you won't have the park to yourself.

I'm a newbie here so my opinion probably doesn't matter much but I love the idea of a couples specific forum! My boyfriend and I are planning a romantic trip and would greatly benefit from advice from other couples!

Would it be possible to have some additional "couple" threads started in this forum since they didn't like the idea of creating a new forum?

I'd love some information about which hotels at WDW lend themselves to romance a little more. And which restaurants? Also, any advice for special couples activities on a Disney Cruise!
I can get general ideas from other posts but I'd love to hear some recommendations from other Disney loving couples!

Epcot does not have EMH for the Friday I signed up for.

I think we could create a distinction when creating threads. Ex:

WDW for couples: what are the most romantic hotels?

WDW for couples: what are the most romantic restaurants?

But to aswer you questions...

Best hotels: Coronado Springs got the most wonderful sunset and offers beautiful views at night, Polynesian Resort (terrible now while refurbishments) has torches on all paths and flowers everywhere, Animal Kingdom Lodge has the most exotic feel. French Quarter is a pretty romantic resort too, a bit "low key", though.

Best restaurants: Be our guest is breathtaking for dinner.

How about a few questions. How many times have you been to Disney World? Disney Cruise? Disneyland? Disney Paris? Hong Kong Disney? Adventures by Disney? Aulani? Favorites? Booked? In the planning stages?

So I've been to Disneyland once in Nov 2011. It was just at the beginning of the holiday season, the weekend before the start was wonderful.

I've been to WDW in :
Jan '03
Oct '03
Jan '07, '08, '09, '11, '12, '13
Mar '13
Oct '13
And Jan '14
That makes 11 times and I'm only 24! And I have a trip planned this Oct with my DBF.

This October is my first couple trip. All the others have been with my family. I'm so excited for it and this will be my DBF first time to WDW! So I want to make sure I get in a lot of things without him feeling rushed!

My boyfriend and I just got back from a 7-night stay at the Yacht Club and we thought it was very "adult-friendly!" Our balcony was super romantic form private time in the mornings and earl evenings, but when we wanted to act like kids again, the pool was a blast. The proximity to Epcot is great for getting drinks in a country (or two or three or four haha)! I hope you all have as much fun as we did!

Next dec it will be our 15th anniversary. As my husband is in wheelchair we normally vacation in Florida. I have a few trips planned, one girls only, anniversary, disney camping and another week long trip. I'm getting an annual pass, dh isn't as he's only going once. I think we will have a much better trip as I can rent an electric wheelchair so I don't have to push him though the park, this leaves my hands free for things like Mickey balloons,Mickey ice cream and pineapple juice;) woot! So excited!

Hi, new to the DIS Forum we are couple that is going to Disney World for our first time, without our children, they are all grown now and this will be our first trip, we will be staying at VGF and have Halloween ticket for Halloween Night., Do you have to wear costume to get in? Also what are some of he things you as couples like to do? All other times it was what the kids wanted to do? A new world for us in Disney World. Thanks.
