I love these for cleaning glass anywhere in the house.

Miracle Cloth

I keep one in the shower, and before I turn the water off, I wet the cloth and quickly wipe the doors. I don't get soap scum building up, and the doors are beautiful.

Seriously, these things are amazing. I just cleaned my 3 large, embarrassingly dirty balcony sliders, and all I did was spray on a white vinegar and water mix, squeegee it off and go over the doors with a dry miracle cloth. Not a streak anywhere.

Mine aren't frameless, but Kohler minimal frame. The glass has a coating that prevents spots. We squeegy after each shower and once a week Window...simple and beautiful. Oh, and we use bar soap.

I just had one installed in a rental property. Not sure how it's going to end up since the water supply is rather hard.

However, one thing that works for me w/ regards to soap scum is Scrubbing Bubbles Mega Shower Foamer from SC Johnson (brand used to be from Dow).

They have something in it (they call them "active cleaners") that keeps stuff from redepositing for a few days. All you need to do is spray it then wipe off and/or rinse off.

Also - any kind of real soap can lead to soap scum, including real liquid soaps like Dr Bronner's. The stuff that won't produce soap scum would be liquid body washes that contain a detergent, where the most common would be sodium lauryl sulfate or ammonium lauryl sulfate. You can look that up. It's common in shampoos, but there's lot of people who claim it's an irritant. I use the stuff all the time in shampoo, so I have no issues with it.

Old bathroom had frosted glass doors with metal frame. When we remodeled we hung a shower curtain. Neither DW nor I had any intention of spending even 30 seconds cleaning clear glass after every shower. Why make extra work for yourself? The shower curtain looks nicer anyway.

P.S. I used to use Dial soap, but DW got me to switch to body wash years ago.

My man does that more than I do. I make him crazy because I shower daily, he showers every 2 or 3 days and he squeegees the shower more than I do. Shower curtains look terrible and get moldy, ick, glass is much nicer.

You mean windex? I'm guessing auto correct.

OP we have frameless glass doors, they look amazing, so nice. We also use bar soap. We do squeegee the glass but not daily, more like every 2-3 days. I also use a Mr Clean eraser once a month and wipe down the doors on the inside, on the outside I use Windex. They look great and are easy to clean.

That's what I use on the shower door that I have now, along with a Mr Clean Magic Eraser. Works very well.

Back when just the kiddos used the upstairs bathroom, the doors would get . I would take the sliding doors off, take them outside, and lay them on a flat surface. I would pour white vinegar on them and let them set for a while. Then I would take a Magic Eraser to them. Everything came off VERY easy. They would look brand spankin' new

Best tip on this thread is the PP that says she lets the maid deal with it!! I recommend that one. but since it looks like you're actually advertising for a shower door store, you probably already know exactly how to clean them.

We squeegee after every use and haven't had any build up/cloudy glass, but if you need to clean Soft Scrub works great

We've had clear shower doors in our master bath for over 20 years. We merely wipe the entire shower down, including the doors after every shower.

While we have hard water, we have never had to deal with hard water drop marks in our shower or on the door.

I've got one in one of my guest bathrooms. It doesn't get used often (seriously, that one gets dusted more than cleaned...lol), but it makes the smallish bathroom look so much bigger. If its not a huge bathroom, I'd recommend it just based on that alone.

We love our frameless clear glass shower doors. When we had our bathtub changed to a large walk-in shower a year ago, we considered the frameless clear shower doors, but I couldn't see us spending the time after every shower to squeegee the doors. We're the laziest people when it comes to any form of housecleaning! But after 9 months of a shower curtain, and admiring the frameless glass shower doors on TV, we decided to try them. Don't mind the 20-30 seconds after each shower to make the doors spotless. But DH is convinced that soft water will make the doors look even better than our very hard water, so we just got a water-softener last week. Regardless, we're delighted with our decision.

I think, in part, it depends on your water. We have hard water, so spotting is mostly the hard water and not soap scum on our doors. I'm glad that we didn't go completely clear but instead went with a more wavy glass. Using the squeegee after every shower definitely helps as does putting a coat of Rain X on every once in a while. Windex doesn't remove the hard water spots for us, but straight vinegar or CLR work pretty well. I'd say the CLR is better than the vinegar.

I've had one for 12 years. I loved it. I now have a shower without a door...walkin, but I wouldn't hesitate to have another frameless.

I used a squeegy and had no problem with streaks. About once a month, I would spray a mixture of Dawn dish soap and white vinegar on the bottom where the soap would tend to build up. Beautiful! Crystal clear.

Best advise is no bar soap. Body wash only. No soap scum to scrub.

I initially used a squeegee on our frameless shower, but found the item below works better. I spray the interior of the shower with this immediately after every use and then walk away (letting the shower exhaust fan run for about 15 minutes). Once everything is dry the the interior is pretty much spotless; use glass cleaner every other week or so on the exterior. And refills for this (which last about a month) are at my local Target for about $3.

I love our clear, frameless glass doors. DH and I have a huge double shower with eally big glass panels and door, all over 2 meters high, DS18 has a more normal sized shower stall, but also all clear and framelss glass on the two sides that are not the walls of the room.

No one uses bar soap (DH wanted the doors most, so that was the condition, he had to give up his bar soap). We all squeegee after a shower (it takes, what? 30 seconds?) and I they are still crystal clear after 9 months of use and with very hard water. They get wiped down every week or so when I do regular cleaning.
(I should note even the 18 year old boy squeegees without any fuss from me, and his shower looks great--it's really very simple)

Interesting that you have had success with these. The extensive reviews of Miracle Cloth on Amazon state they are great for cleaning many -- but not all -- metals and finished wood (people with guitars seem to be the core market segment using them). But many also say it works by employing a somewhat oily film, which doesn't sound like what one would want to use on glass. And I couldn't find any mentions or reviews from people who said they had used a Miracle Cloth to clean glass, much less shower doors made from it.

The ones I have are just microfiber cloth. There's no oil in them, or cleanser.
