Thanks I always read a ton of reports so I wanted to try me own.

Hi Ryan! I finally made it! I've been out of town all week and missed some DIS time. What an outstanding job you are doing with this trip report! You're like a pro! Great to see your whole family and I look forward to reading more. popcorn:: Subscribing now!

Enjoying your TR! I love the new paint - didn't even know some of the buildings were spruced up. SSE is still an old fav of ours - love the funny faces you can use to make the future more fun lol

Thanks for joining in Alan! I am loving your report so I hope I you like mine.

Yes the new paint was quite the talk of epcot when it was being done. At first it was thought of as just a test and then it stayed.

After our great dinner in Italy we headed for Mexico. This was my first time really going inside and looking around in there. My sister Sydnee saw the Kidcot coloring thing and wanted to do it because it was Duffy related and she really likes Duffy. While she did that I looked around in Mexico.

After my sister was finished coloring we headed for the Gran Fiesta tour with The Three Caballeros! This was a first for our family we had never done this.

The ride was nice nothing special but if you've never done it before I'd do just to see what its like and maybe learn a little about the Mexican culture.

Up next was Test Track! In 2012 we didn't get to ride because it was down for its big refurb so, we haven't been on this ride since 2006. This would be my sisters first ride on it ever.

All five of us were in the same car and then some other guy must've been a single rider. My Mom, Dad, and Sister Jordan designed one car, and my sister Sydnee and I designed our own. I don't have a picture of theirs but I have ours.

My Dad has always wanted a Tahoe for a car but has just never been able to afford one. They so happened to have a brand new one sitting right at the exit of Test Track.

My Uncle owns a 2010 red corvette and now that the sting rays are back he really wants one of those. They had one of the new ones sitting in there too so I had to take a picture and send it to him.

After we left TT, we headed over to the Camera center to pick up our Disney Visa Photo from earlier.

On the way we saw a Disney survey marker.

While we were at the camera center we bought some magic band sliders. I got the Mickey one, my sisters got Donald and Minnie. They came in a pack of 3.

Next we had a FP+ for Maelstrom. I had never been on this ride and wanted to see what it was like before the possibility of a Frozen take over. The ride was nice but a bit short kind of wish it was longer. I am sure adding Frozen would get crowds in there but I am not a huge fan of characterizing World Showcase.

This is where our title comes in to play. It was getting to that time of we need to find a place for Illuminations. I was really eager to find the best place possible. My mom on the other hand just wanted a place that was closer to the exit. My mom picked a spot between Mexico and Norway. What can I say I guess I was wrong because this turned out to be one of the best Illumination spots I ever had.

My parents and Jordan sat in the spot while Sydnee and I went to Mexico to get some Nachos. While in line this lady who was before us didn't know what she wanted nor did her kids. And then the guy asked her if she was on the Dining Plan and she said yes, but then I guess she thought he meant something else that made no sense. Lastly when he told her the final price she started complaining and how do you get that blah blah blah. The poor guy couldn't do anything about it. We finally after at least 20 minutes of this lady doing her order got our Nachos.

It was a beautiful night, hot as it always is in florida but beautiful.

Finally it was time for the show!

And that concludes Day 1! We had a blast at Epcot and it was really nice having such an early flight. When we got back to POR we headed to the food court grabbed a snack and filled our mugs. We had to get to bed so we could get up for our long day tomorrow.

Up Next: The longest day of the Trip...

Joining in! We just celebrated my sister's Sweet 16 in WDW. She got the same song and dessert at Via Napoli, it was great!!

Great update, looks like you had a lot of fun at Epcot!
Thanks, Yes we had a blast at Epcot. Kind of disappointed we didn't go back again during our trip but I will be going again in January.

Thanks for joining! I wonder if they get tired of singing because there had to be at least 8 times they sang in the hour we were there. It was fun though definitely a place I would go back too.

Day 2 of our trip was an early one. We had scheduled a 7:30 am ADR for the character breakfast at Ohana'. We left POR at 6:30 not knowing how long it would take to get to the Poly because sometimes Disney transportation can be slow. We got on the MK bus and when we got there we asked the bus driver what the easiest way to the Poly was. He said monorail, only problem was the monorail is starting at 9 am due to the work being done on them for the new automated system. So since it was early and no one was around really he took us to the Poly himself. We thanked him and headed off inside. We were a little early now so we decided to take a walk around and see all of the construction.

I think once all the changes are done the Poly will be really nice but until then its a mess.

We headed to check in for Breakfast and we were the first ones to do so. so we sat in the waiting area. More people started to show up and then once 7:30 hit all the CMs came out to do their song and dance before breakfast started. One of the CMs really got into it and took once of the people waiting in to dance with her it was really great.

We were seated in the corner and were given the special bread and juice.

Stitch was the first character but for some reason none of the photo pass photos showed up in our My Disney Experience.

Lilo was next, she is someone who we have never met before.

After Lilo our food started coming. I really liked this breakfast and how it was served family style. Then just after our food was served Mickey came out!

They did the parade around the dining room next with the characters. This family next to us with all teenage children I would say was really getting into this except for their one son who just wanted nothing to do with it. The whole family got up and joined in the fun and he just trailed along behind like I just don't want to be here. My two sisters joined the parade as well. After the parade we got our mckey waffles and Pluto came over.

I would have to say this is my new favorite character breakfast. Before it was Tusker House but this beat it. Ohana' is also a place I really want to try for Dinner as well.

I also took some photos of the Poly DVC bungalows being built. Its being said that they will cost at least $1000 a night, and each have their own little plunge pools on the deck.

After we left the restaurant we headed outside to catch the boat to the MK. I really wanted to catch the Morning show which I had never seen before and we were going to make it perfectly timed. We got on the boat and learned that the boat driver is the brother of the Main Street Fire Chief who hosts the morning show. We got to MK and the show was just about to begin and it was perfect timing. I don't have any picture for it though as I took video of it instead.

After the Morning show we headed in and you could see the Brazilian tour groups already. We headed down main street for Fantasyland.

Peter pan was our first stop, and hey look only a 5 minute wait thanks to rope drop. The queue was also under construction, rumor has it that an interactive queue is coming.

Next it was time for the happiest cruise that ever sailed Its a Small World!

After IASW we headed to New Fantasyland! This would be our first time seeing most of it. When we were here in 2012 only the storybook circus area was open.

We headed to the Under the Sea Journey first. I have to say this was probably the longest queue in all of WDW.

Continued...

After the ride we decided to go see Ariel in her grotto it was only a 10 minute wait.

Continued...

As we passed by the mine train you could hear the Heigh Ho!

Storybook Circus was next! Dumbo and the Barnstormer

After that we headed to the Tomorrowland Speedway. One thing I learned here is its very hard to drive that car and take photos.

Up next: We get to ride the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train!

After our ride on the Tomorrowland Speedway we headed back to Fantasyland.

We wanted to ride Many adventures with Winnie the Pooh but it was broken down. Right next door we saw a few people lined up for the Pooh and Tigger meet and greet so we decided to hop in line.

After we met Pooh and Tigger we saw the ride was back open and we had some time to kill before our Mine Train FP.

After our stop in the hundred acre woods it was time to get on the Mine Train! I don't have many pictures from this particular ride because I wanted to really enjoy my first ride on it. I will have more later in the report when we ride again.

I must say what a great new attraction. Its nothing overly spectacular or ground breaking but its a great new addition. I think the Dwarf Animatronics are some of the best in WDW.

Philharmagic was next on our fun filled morning at the Magic Kingdom. Its a fun little break from the florida summer heat.

We had a FP+ for a stop at Beasts Castle! This would be our first time eating here. We couldn't get a dinner ADR but we at least got the experience by eating here for lunch.

What a fantastically themed restaurant. I would really love to eat dinner here sometime when its not so loud and crowded like it was at lunch. I also thought it was cool how you ordered your food and they brought it to you.

I had the Turkey sandwich and so did my Dad and sister Jordan. I don't remember what my other sister got and my Mom got some other sandwich. Jordan is a very picky eater and didn't end up liking her sandwich even though she got only turkey on it and nothing else.

For dessert I got the masters cupcake and man was it good. Everyone wished they had gotten that instead of what they had gotten.

Up next: Its a Festival of Fantasy!

After our adventures in Fantasyland we were headed to Frontierland. Before we headed there we needed to make a stop at the Tangled Toilets.

My grandpa is a big fan of Big Al from the Country Bear Jamboree so we make sure we see it every time we are in WDW.

Blood on the Saddle!

After the Jamboree it was getting close to 3:00PM. We sat down just outside the exit for the jamboree so we had a spot for the parade. I was very excited to see this parade since it was brand new.

The Main Street Band was first.

Now it was time for the Parade!

Continued in next post...

Some of these costumes that they were wearing made me sweat looking at them. It had to be 97 degrees and the humidity had it over a 100. This was probably the hottest day of our trip. We were sitting there dripping.

This float is the best of all. No one does a parade like Disney.

What a stunning parade! I can tell it will be a favorite for as long as its around.

Up Next: Adventureland!

wow, what a fantastical day so far! Glad you enjoyed 'Ohana as well as BOG!

I really like your shirt ... might be because I have the same on in black though ;)

really hoping to catch the new parade our next trip but am worried about mid-afternoon heat in Florida in August

I'm so jealous of you! We didn't get to watch the parade when we went in June. It just never worked out because my kids were usually napping during that time. I'm hoping to see it next time we go as a family but that won't be for another 3 years. :( It looks so wonderful! That dragon is amazing!

Yes both restaurants were a lot of fun! Its a great shirt isn't it! Well we survived it in July I am sure you can do it in August. I am really surprised some of those performers make it through the parade in those costumes when its 100 degrees out.

Aw that sucks. My mom always forgot about naps when we were in Disney. I've been going to Disney since I was 8 months old and my mom never has had many rules in Disney. We would take breaks but be at the pool or watching a show. Hopefully you get to go in 3 years and see it!

I couldn't go to the Poly on this trip, I didn't want to see it with all the construction :(

That juice is so good!

:scared1: this is how I feel about the cost of the Poly bungalows.

You got so much done that morning! I didn't take any pics of Mine Train either because I wanted to enjoy the moment, but I definitely want to take some next time.

Festival of Fantasy is INCREDIBLE, definitely one of my new favorites!
