Last Trip? It was until we met Food & Wine -- Recap 2/12

Kathy, I am so sorry to hear of Joe's passing. As hard as I know it it on his family and loved ones, they can all find peace in knowing that he is no longer suffering.

What a fun Disney trip update! You are right, I think that all Dis kids are out to get ya! :lmao: You have to admit though that Hunter, Cayley and Avery let you off easy when they didn't make you get on Primevil Hurl with them. . :crazy2:;)

Kathy i am so sorry to hear the passing of your friend my heart goes out to their family.

I hope everything else is OK?!?!

I just adored this update! Normally the kids pictures are my favorite. and Tim's antic are a dang riot too... But i will say Mel's picture on Buzz TAKES. THE. CAKE!!!! :lmao: :rotfl2:

THEN! look how close you are to Stitch! So proud of you!!!

Hope all is going well!

Kathy, so sorry to hear of Joe's passing. Their love and support for each other is definitely an inspiration to others and he will definitely live on in the impact he had to his family and many, many others. and as you say, at least he is at peace now.

************

wow, you do really look like you are just barely surviving Space Mountain. Good job fulfilling your end of the bargain though :thumbsup2

Looks like you all had fun on Stitch though - definitely a fun family attraction even if it could use some updating/newer technology ... plus it allows for one of the other required photos at Disney - the one with the kids behind the bars with Zurg :rotfl:

I'm so sorry to hear about Joe. My thoughts are with his family and yours. What a heartbreaking time for you all.

Ahh... a Tommorrowland visit. My favorite. If I could just do Monsters, Inc., Space, Buzz and the Peoplemover for a day I would be a happy camper!

What a fun morning!!! I love an empty Main Street and breakfast at Crystal Palace, and who can beat breakfast with friends there! It looks like such a fun meal!

I can't believe you got on Space Mountain again!:rotfl2: I'm sorry, I'm not laughing..... The DIS kids will keep you young if it is the last thing they do!

Aww that Stitch is such a little rascal. Always a fun meet.

Haha, no doubt she won the bet. That would have been kind of a let down otherwise, lol.

Oh come on Kathy, the ride hasn't even started when they take that photo. I know, total anticipation.

Aww very cute picture of you and the kids. So sweet. Plus, I spy the character to meet.

The anniversary photpass photo is so cute!! We are leaving on Friday for Disney and are celebrating our 10 yr anniversary this past Thursday! I'm hoping we can get a pic like that!

I loved seeing all the extra hugs and love that Eeyore was getting. He is my moms favorite but I've always been partial to Tigger!

I can't believe you went on Space Mountain again!! But it was a good bet just to see your face on that ride! Priceless!

That picture of you on SM is priceless :lmao: I have to admit it's a painful ride at WDW the one at DL is much smoother for me.

Those ride photos are great! Especially the SM one ::rofl2:: looks like the start of a great day!

Coming out of lurkdom to say I love your TRs and I love when you are at a DisMeet - you are like everyone's grandma - so warm!

:welcome:; thank you for your posting. Grandma? I want to be one, but I keep telling myself I am still too young. ;) I do like practicing though. :)

Enjoying your latest report! CP is my all-time fave character meal too esp for early morning breakfast! Sorry fr your losses and family struggles with illness - I know it all too well - hang in there.

Thank you; CP is a must-do...just so much fun and always try for that first one. Thank you so very much.

Hi Kathy - I'm so sorry to hear about Joe. He was much too young. His wife and daughter are in my prayers. :sad1:

Thank you, friend. I just found out that the services will be in Chicago and not Orlando, so if it is not on Saturday when we have two weddings, we will go to the wake.

So sorry to hear of your loss Kathy. Prayers to Joe's family.

Thank you, Chris.

I'm so sorry to hear of Joe's passing. Prayers and thoughts to his family and all who cared about him.

Thank you, Steph. Although he is no longer suffering, it is still so hard to comprehend as he was so young.

Yay, Space Mountain. Your picture made me :rotfl2:. Actually all of the Buzz pictures also made me :lmao:!!

We got great shots on Buzz; and I swear no more DIS kids are convincing me to go on that ride.

Wow. I'm behind. :lmao:

Sorry, Andy. I was on a roll there when I could.

Mmmmmm.... my peanut butter chocolate cupcakes... I will be eating one of you a month from now. I can't wait!!!!!!!

Lucky you; just in the knick of time with this frigid weather we are getting.

As one of the hat haters, I guess I'll say that I don't hate the hat itself. Just the location. It would be more fitting in the animation area or maybe out in front of the park or at a value resort. I think it would be great if they could move it somewhere else.

I agree; somewhere else it wouldn't be so bad.

But that theater is really a beautiful building, and you really lose a sense of the scale and beauty of it when you can't see it as you approach from the entrance. I'm all in favor of opening that area back up. :thumbsup2

I think they have to clear that with the theater first.

Oh look. Tim's wearing his illegal disdads shirt. I can't wait for the update where he ends up disappearing behind a hidden door with Disney security. :rolleyes1

Why is it illegal?

:lmao::rotfl2::rotfl: No, they're just trying to make sure you still do the fun stuff!!!! :thumbsup2

Fun stuff? How can it be fun when I want to lose the contents of m stomach on it?

That's all it takes to entertain the kids at that age. But it just kills your score. :rotfl2:

That it does.

:lmao::rotfl2::rotfl:

She'd kill me if she knew I posted that picture.

Nice updates, Kathy! I'm glad you got to have a couple of big Dis Meets. It looks like you and Mark really hit it off well with Tim's family. I'm glad to see you all having a good time together. I look forward to seeing what kinds of trouble Tim and Mark can get into together. :thumbsup2

We had a blast with them, and Mark and Tim had a couple of times they were able to chat without us girls around.

I'm very sorry to hear the news of Joe's passing. Prayers for the family.

Thanks, Mark.

Caught up with the rest of the updates. I haven't done the Crystal Palace breakfast yet, and I'm not a big fan of the Pooh characters, but I still feel like it's a must-do someday. I love those empty Main St. and castle shots. They're so cool!

We love the characters, but we love the food too.

Love all the pictures with Tim's family.

Thanks; the kids are very photogenic.

And kudos to you for not welching on the bet and going through with Space Mountain! Sure, you might have taken a few years off your life, but you made Juliana happy. So it was worth it.:thumbsup2

Those girls with the big, beautiful eyes get me every time.

Mel's picture on Buzz Lightyear had me :lmao::rotfl2::rotfl:

Ssssssh....don't tell her I posted it.

Kathy, I am so sorry to hear of Joe's passing. As hard as I know it it on his family and loved ones, they can all find peace in knowing that he is no longer suffering.

Thanks, Lisa.

THANK YOU HUNTER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Kathy i am so sorry to hear the passing of your friend my heart goes out to their family.

Thanks, Mo.

I hope everything else is OK?!?!

About the same.

I just adored this update! Normally the kids pictures are my favorite. and Tim's antic are a dang riot too... But i will say Mel's picture on Buzz TAKES. THE. CAKE!!!! :lmao: :rotfl2:

I know...it is a classic.

THEN! look how close you are to Stitch! So proud of you!!!

Wait until later in the TR. ;)

Hope all is going well!

Thank you my friend.

Kathy, so sorry to hear of Joe's passing. Their love and support for each other is definitely an inspiration to others and he will definitely live on in the impact he had to his family and many, many others. and as you say, at least he is at peace now.

Thanks, Phil. And I agree with all that you said.

wow, you do really look like you are just barely surviving Space Mountain. Good job fulfilling your end of the bargain though :thumbsup2

Seriously, thought they'd have to get the medics after they got a crane or something to get me out of the darn seat.

Looks like you all had fun on Stitch though - definitely a fun family attraction even if it could use some updating/newer technology ... plus it allows for one of the other required photos at Disney - the one with the kids behind the bars with Zurg :rotfl:

I gather you mean Buzz. I agree it could use a little updating.

I'm so sorry to hear about Joe. My thoughts are with his family and yours. What a heartbreaking time for you all.

Thank you. It is just so unfair.

Ahh... a Tommorrowland visit. My favorite. If I could just do Monsters, Inc., Space, Buzz and the Peoplemover for a day I would be a happy camper!

I LOVE the Peoplemover and Buzz. The other two I can do without. :lmao:

So sorry to hear about Joe. I will keep his family in my prayers.

Thank you.

What a fun morning!!! I love an empty Main Street and breakfast at Crystal Palace, and who can beat breakfast with friends there! It looks like such a fun meal!

It really was...we had loads of fun.

I can't believe you got on Space Mountain again!:rotfl2: I'm sorry, I'm not laughing..... The DIS kids will keep you young if it is the last thing they do!

Yes you are laughing; it's okay. I'd probably laugh at me too. Young or dead!

Aww that Stitch is such a little rascal. Always a fun meet.

Oh he certainly is.

Haha, no doubt she won the bet. That would have been kind of a let down otherwise, lol.

Of course. :rotfl2:

Oh come on Kathy, the ride hasn't even started when they take that photo. I know, total anticipation.

Seriously, I was sweating bullets when I got in line.

Aww very cute picture of you and the kids. So sweet. Plus, I spy the character to meet.

Thanks; it was a fun character meet to come.

The anniversary photpass photo is so cute!! We are leaving on Friday for Disney and are celebrating our 10 yr anniversary this past Thursday! I'm hoping we can get a pic like that!

Tell the photopass person...I have found them to be very accommodating.

I loved seeing all the extra hugs and love that Eeyore was getting. He is my moms favorite but I've always been partial to Tigger!

I'm with you...partial to Tigger, but Mark LOVES Eeyore.

I can't believe you went on Space Mountain again!! But it was a good bet just to see your face on that ride! Priceless!

Thanks, I think. ;)

That picture of you on SM is priceless :lmao: I have to admit it's a painful ride at WDW the one at DL is much smoother for me.

Thanks, Lori. I do want to try it at DL as you've told me that before.

Those ride photos are great! Especially the SM one ::rofl2:: looks like the start of a great day!

Thanks, Mary. I'm glad you enjoyed them.

This has not been a good year overall, and the last month has just been brutal.

I just wanted to give you a couple of updates. Mom and my brother are about the same. Not really better, but no worse. Mark stops by every other day and I stop by a couple of nights a week to check on them, pick up stuff, do laundry, etc.

Our youngest son had a tough day today. An 18-year old wrestler that he coached for six years, was killed in a head on crash with a semi truck this morning (he was killed on impact). The driver of the car and the semi are both in the hospital with no updates. Mark was interviewed by both the newspaper and television station as the parents did not want to talk and they asked Mark to do it as he and their son had become very close over the last six years.

On a happier note, Joe's wife, Amanda posted on Twitter today: "And in the dark you will be our light" and with it she posted a video of 11 month old Mira Joey taking her first steps on her own right into mommy's arms. I posted in response: I believe in my heart that Joe was taking each of those steps with her.

Amanda also found a note that Joe left asking and urging her to continue #JoeStrong and Cocktails and Chemo to help people in the future going through the same ordeal, and Amanda is going to continue it.

I also heard on the broadcast in Orlando today that spoke about Joe, that the funeral will be in Chicago. I am waiting for details and Mark and I plan to at least attend the wake if we can (he's got a lot of hours coming up with work and we have two weddings to go to this coming weekend).

In Disney news, I am booking our October resort tomorrow. We are going to book a studio at the Boardwalk Villas. Once the 7-month period reaches, we are going to try to switch it to the Beach Club Villas so that Mark can at least have tried it.

I hope to do an update tomorrow afternoon.

Oh goodness Kathy. I am praying the dark cloud clears quickly. I am so sorry to hear such a young life is lost. You and Mark are such great people to help both of these families.

I hope Mark is enjoying his new job and having fun with it. Still think he would be better at the Disney store!!! :thumbsup2

You both need an escape. Glad you booked!

Hey there!

I'm behind on just about all of my favorite TRs because I have a ton of end-of-Grad-School-Fall-Semester projects occupying my spare time, but I did drop in on some of the ones I know it's easier to get far behind on to catch up.

I'm so sorry about your friend Joe. I know nothing about that situation other than the passing from cancer you spoke of, but I can definitely speak to hating cancer along with everyone else.

Stitch is so cute in the fur! I love Space Mountain, too, though I feel sad for you when I see your face in that picture. You're being such a good sport!

I absolutely don't blame you for wanting 2014 to be over. You have had a rough year. How terrible for that young wrestler's family. So tragic. The story about the baby taking her first steps made me tear up but you are right, he took those steps with her :(

Any updates on Alisha? I do hope she has some answers.

Kathy, I don't blame you one little bit for wanting this year to be over with. You have had so much to deal with on a personal level that it will be so nice to start a fresh new year.

Give Mark a hug and tell him how proud I am that he stepped in and spoke for the family. It had to be tough for him to do because he was so close to the young man who was killed.

I teared up when you spoke of Joe's little girl taking her first steps. Her father will always be watching over her and will see those milestones from Heaven.

Finally got a few minutes to sit down and catch up.

Firstly, I'm so sorry to hear about Joe and about the young wrestler. It's hard to understand when people are taken from us so young, and I hope their families are doing okay.

Now, on to the happier stuff ...
I love Space Mountain, but I understand why others don't. But you did it and you survived - so congratulations! And kudos for not chickening out on the bet.

Cute Buzz Lightyear pictures! You look like you're very seriously trying to teach Christopher something. But at least that was something everyone can enjoy!
