Joining in as well! I'm hoping to run my first 10k. I've only been training for about 2 weeks, but I walk about 2 miles every other day already. I'm actually tempted to sign up for the half marathon, but I'm not sure I'd have enough time to train for it!

You definitely do The Galloway programs don't start until May, and there is one that's for complete beginners. If it's something you want to do, go for it!

Having said that, the 10k was a lot of fun, especially since it was mostly run through the parks.

That's always exciting! I still remember my first runDisney event - the Star Tours 5K at the Disneyland Half in 2011 I believe - I then signed up for the inaugural Tinker Bell!

Which event were you planning to do?

Joining in as well! I'm hoping to run my first 10k. I've only been training for about 2 weeks, but I walk about 2 miles every other day already. I'm actually tempted to sign up for the half marathon, but I'm not sure I'd have enough time to train for it!

10K, or even shooting for the half will be a great time. And don't think it's not enough time to train - it certainly is. We're still about 8 months away which gives lots of training time if you put in the effort. But either way I hope you have fun with the experience.

Thanks, zanzibar! I'm still trying to figure out how to schedule the exercise. I've got a toddler and my DH will be traveling a lot in the next few months. I had to skip my walk yesterday since he was late coming home due to a last minute work meeting.

Just doing the 5k. I'd love to do the 10, but leaving that day. Planned the trip before I knew about the race.
I've run the Castaway Cay 5k, but it wasn't an official event then. I'm going to have to go on another cruise to get one of them fancy new medals.

Last year the 10k took us down S West to West, back through the convention centre to Harbor, and into the parks just before the main entrance.

I would leave extra time for getting to the airport as you will be affected by closures/traffic at that time of the morning.

So excited!!! I'll be on my desktop and iPad w/ everything ready to go! I'm think DDD 1st and then 5k so at the very least I'm in for DDD and if I don't get in for the 5k I can do that through regular reg when everyone is trying for DDD or the 1/2.

how long does registration stay open for the AP's? Does it open tomorrow and you can sign up anytime between then and regular registration? Trying to finalize my plans and I will not be 100% sure if we are going or not by tomorrow.

There are a certain number of spots open to AP/DVC members and registration will stay open until they are all gone or general registration opens on February 10, whichever comes first.

You're all prepared! DDD will definitely be the priority to register for first, I'm sure the 5K will be easier once general registration opens if you can't get into both tomorrow.

One day I'd like to do all 3 events. But not this time around. I'm taking a break from the DL half after this year to hopefully run some more non-Disney races and to save up for my first attempt at the full in WDW. I'm only doing this one because it's the 10th anniversary! Maybe I'll try it for Tink next year since that will be the 5th anniversary of Tink.

Yikes, that's fast. So looks like we will have to register on the regular day since i won't have made up my mind yet. if we do go, I am going to have to register 3 people for the half, two people for the 10k and 1 for the kids races. With so many different registrations am i going to be able to even get all of us in? Can i do one big "order" for the whole family, or will i have to register each person seperatly?
