Babnanas 11: "Boo-boo's are OUT, Toast is IN….

Here comes the snow. AGAIN. We're supposed to get some ridiculous amount (10-15"?!) over the next. four. days.

:badpc:

Even my winter-lovin' friends are saying Enough!! People are literally running out of room to put the stuff. And it's still stupid-cold. :cold:

....what SHE said.

Stay safe.

But I have to say.......no snow here. :rolleyes1

GP - That's not a Grumpy Pirate avatar you're sporting. It'll take some getting used to.....or perhaps a quick look on Google?

Here's a view to my back landing.......

And here's one of the epic icicles hanging off the back of the house.

In better news, mah ticker says less than 3 months!!! :jumping1:

Ok, another quirk with this new layout that I'm not liking....if there are no new posts, and I just click the title of the thread to go to it, it brings me to the first post, not the last.

So, this post may be of interest to PiO, maybe not too many others, but hey..... :upsidedow I have been considering my camera options for the May trip. For some years I was using a Kodak Easyshare Z712 IS; this was the first camera I ever researched and purchased on my own (up to that point I got all my dad's hand-me-downs), and I love it.

The picture quality is great, the colors are rich and true, and it has an amazing zoom, esp. for a little non-DSLR (although you can set the individual features manually if you want to). Anyway, a couple of years ago I got a bunch of cameras from my dad when he basically stopped taking photos, and among the film offerings was another digital, this one a Minolta DiMage 7i (it also has interchangeable lenses, sort of a cross-over camera, if you will). It has more settings to mess with, so I thought I'd play around with it and make it my primary camera.

So, while I've enjoyed using it, I've come to the distinct conclusion that the Kodak takes a better picture. I suddenly noticed that I've had several pics from the Minolta that came out out-of-focus (and it can be hard to see that ahead of time in the little view screen with my eyes!! lol!).

Here are a couple of examples from each camera....
Minolta:

It's a nice shot of the cat on the chair, but you can see it's just not real crisp and is a bit washed out, color-wise.

Kodak:

Just another cat-on-a-chair pic, but better color and crisp detail.

Conclusion: I'm dusting off the Kodak, refreshing my memory on its features, and that's the camera coming to WDW in May!! :thumbsup2

I like the ticker news better than the icicles! Those are mean looking ones too!

I wonder why your shots out of the Minolta are suddenly looking out of focus and a bit washed out. Is there a friendly camera shop that you could take it to and ask someone about it?
But I love the images out of the Kodak! Lovely shot of another cat on a chair!

Given your two choices and the images you posted, I would be taking the Kodak as well! :thumbsup2

I'm not sure it's a recent thing, but even if it were, camera shops around here charge top dollar (read: more than the camera is worth!!) to do much of anything. They are who you'd go to with a mulit-thousand dollar DSLR..... :scared1:

:headache:

That's a shame. The ones here will at least look at it and make an assessment. It could be something simple.

Judging by the weather where I am, I'd say into hibernation!!

Pretty soon we won't have a choice!!! MORE snow coming......I seriously have NO room left in my driveway to put it! AND, DS18 brought home his first car today!!!!! That's all great, he needs it, but just one more thing taking up the ever-shrinking space!

I NEED SPRING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :flower1:
