Toy Story Mania, is it really all that?

I love the ride.

I will wait 45 minutes for it in Anaheim. I won't/can't wait that long for it in Orlando, though, because the standby line is SO loud and I just can't deal with it. So it's a 10 minute standby line or a FP+ for me (and I've got my earplugs with me) at DHS or I can't ride it.

i don't even really like the toy story movies all that well but YES it is all that AND a bag of chips!

the attention to detail is amazing.

and no its really nothing like buzz lightyear space ranger spin at MK.
i don't like that ride at all.

toy story mania is a very unique experience and one that has become a can't miss for my family.

did you really just recently go and not ride it???

I liked buzz better. TSMM made me motion sick or was overwhelming to my equilibrium at least. I don't care if I go on it again ever...

We love it! We waited about 45 minutes I think. It was worth it, the line queue is fun. My 8 yo thinks its the best ride EVER!

We love it. We usually hit it first thing in the morning or after 6:00 pm, & the longest we've waited is 30 minutes. We tend to hit the parks & a Disney cruise at the end of May beginning of June or October (F&WF :drinking:)

We've only ever ridden once, since we usually skip it due to obscenely-long lines.

I think it's quite different from Buzz. (You can always look up YouTube videos to see for yourself.) I prefer Buzz, since TSMM seems like a glorified video game to me (and I dislike video games).

We're going on it in a couple weeks since we have FP+ for it. I'll ride with FP+ or if there is a short wait, but it doesn't bother me if we skip it.

I'd wait if it's a 45 minute or less wait. That's with any ride though. It's really fun and better than Buzz.

I throughly enjoy when I get the high score for the hour lol. It has to be one of the most popular attractions throughout every park.

The only dislike I have is that I'd like to ride it about 5 times in a row, so that's impossible without doing standby all day.

I rode it a couple of times five years ago with legacy FP. This past trip (Oct 2014), I didn't want to waste a FP+ on it and the lines were longer than I would wait for any ride. The queue is the best part IMHO.

It made two of us very car sick. So not a fan. Loved Buzz at DL at WDW not as fun. Gun is much harder to use & you can't seem to see what you are hitting as well.

So of you haven't tried it yet I would fast pass it but not wait hours without it.

I LoveLoveLove TSMM so much! I have waited over an hour to ride, but then, I don't mind standing in line if I really want to see something. It's similar to Buzz, but since you can see the things you're shooting (darts, pies, etc), I do much better on my score.

Not worth a 90 minute wait but we do head there first in the morning and get whatever FP we can for it - it's fun :)

Is Toy Story Mania really all that? Is it pretty much the same as that Buzz ride in the Magic Kingdom?

No and Kinda/Not.

In reverse. Buzz ride you shoot at mostly stationary targets as you move by with a laser beam. TSMM you have 3D glasses, move to a spot to stay still, and pull a rope repeatedly to hit virtual targets on the screen that are moving with virtual "ammo" like darts, rings etc.

No it's not worth waiting in long lines for and many times we skip it. It's cute but I think the queue and loading area decor is the highlight. It's popular because it's very easy and good for young kids, it's one of a handful of "rides" in the park and even smaller number that small kids can ride on, it's Toy Story themed. The frustrating part lately is how many times the screens are not working for us. I hope when they get the new track in with new screens they consider some love to the old screens.

It's what we kinda call one of WDW :worship:cult attractions.

It's probably a little easier than Buzz and more advanced in it's story and special effects. I'm not a big game fan, so I can take it or leave it. Unless we have a FP and my son and DIL want to ride, I'm good with skipping it.

It's one of our favorites, and I won't lie- in the early days we waited up to 90 minutes in standby when we couldn't get a fastpass. (Before FP+, of course.) I'd say we wouldn't wait so long ever again, but we just might, so I won't be hypocritical and act like we wouldn't lol. We're all super competitive and DS15 and I are gunning for DS11 and DH every year. (This is our year, I can feel it...:thumbsup2) Definitely a must-do for us. We were all disappointed by Buzz after riding TSMM. No comparison in my book.

Another vote for way better than Buzz ride. Our whole family loves it! We try to go right from rope drop and on our next trip will use the fp for this ride. Toy Story Mania is definitely all that!

LOVE THIS RIDE! It's definitely one of my favorites, and it's definitely better than the Buzz Light year ride at MK.
