Disney's YACHT & BEACH CLUB RESORTS Information & Questions

I know several of us here are staying on a magical deal in mid-late August. I got an email about a dessert party they're hosting on the 19th in Epcot. I'm thinking of signing up for it. Anyone else interested?
I was thinking about it. My DH is on the fence, but it happens to be my birthday so I am leaning towards it :) Let me know if you do book it....I am easily swayed. :)

I only heard about a breakfast on August 23?

Finally back home - wonderful trip made perfect by the awesomeness that is Beach Club. Here are some photos of the lobby where you can see the plastic on the second level where they are working on it. They are also working on the first floor rooms (at least ones close to the lobby).

Do you know which side of the second floor they had started working on?

Well, I printed out the page and filled it out, just debating whether I want to pre-pay or not. I was close to booking the Sisney one. I texted my sister, who said she's not into dessert (weirdo) but she loves fireworks. Not overly helpful.

The email was in my inbox just a few hours ago, so they're probably just sending them out now. Mine came from my TA with the agency, so perhaps it depends on who's working with you as to how quickly they get the emails out?

Do you think the magical event will be like this:

It seems similar. The price is very close. This one takes place in Italy. I'm not that familiar with where to see illuminations in Epcot that I can figure out if it's a good location or not. The flyer says they have tables and chairs for the event, which I think is different from the disney one (at least I thought that's what some folks complained about - they just had the high tables set up with no place to sit).

ETA: I just looked up the location and it's a space right next to the lake, so pretty perfect for seeing the fireworks. The price still seems high to me, but my oldest loves, loves illuminations. I'm leaning towards booking it.

That was my thought that they will have table and chairs set up. I also think it may be a more private event. And.....I just mailed mine ;) The kids really want to do it.

As I replied above, I think it's more like the private viewing events that you can reserve for parties and receptions and such. The clincher was being able to sit lol. Maybe we will see each other there :) I'll buy some wine for all of us ;)

Well folks, tomorrow night my DW and DS head to the airport hotel for an overnight ahead of a 4am rise for our first flight leg at 06:30.

Thursday afternoon we will finally be back in WDW for the first time since 2012.

Thanks to everyone on hear for great information and some entertaining topics.

If anyone is interested in pics of the YC and surrounding area I'll be happy to post them while Im there.

Cheers all !

Maybe someone can help me out here...Since the 2016 rates released today I went to go book online for my honeymoon April 11-21. However it already says for standard rooms at BC "This room type is unavailable for the dates, party size or offer selected." Are the standard room really already all booked? I understand Disney is a popular place but to not have a single standard room available 10 months away seems a bit odd. Are we simply out of luck if we want a standard room?
I had this same problem for April 2015. There weren't any rooms available for our dates in April except deluxe rooms. So I ended up booking at the YC. Then a travel agency ran a special that included our dates at the BC, so I was able to stay at the BC, but only if I used a travel agent. It was rather crazy.

I just mailed mine off, too. Chairs and a table sold me on it, too. :)

Also, I've noticed that Orbitz hasn't released the new 2016 rates for Disney resorts, so maybe they'll have some availability when they finally do.

Haven't done the 2015 trip and already looking at 2016. This time my mom wants to go with me. As we must have two separate sleeping areas (she snores) the TA recommended a one bedroom villa because the sleeper sofa can be closed off from the bed area. Looking for some help from tje experts here as BC is my first choice.

1. Is the sofa always separate or might it be crammed in with the bed?

2. Were the villas refurbed with the rest of the resort?

Thanks!

If you get a one-bedroom, the sleeper sofa is in the living room and the bed is in the bedroom. So really it's the bed in the bedroom which can be closed off. If you take the bedroom and put her on the sleeper sofa, and you want to get something out of the kitchen after she goes to sleep, you are walking into the room where she is sleeping. Same goes for entering or leaving the room; you walk through the living room.

The villas are scheduled for refurb, but it hasn't started yet. We're not sure exactly when it will start and when it will end.

We just took the Undiscovered FutureWorld Tour - and we get VIP area in Italy to view Illuminations - we walked by last night and there were tables set up for a wedding party - its a really nice area - good view of the show.

Thanks! I don't roam at night so she could sleep unbothered. i just need to keep her in another room so I can sleep lol.

I had googled the plaza and found a number of sites with photos for wedding parties. That helped me decide, for sure. pas130, I'll likely be there with my refillable mug topped off with a sunken treasure.

I tried asking my TA if this was catered by the folks that normally do dessert parties and if it was like the Illuminations Sparkling dessert party (that offers sparkling wine). She did not understand my question, asking if I meant the breakfast buffet on August 23. And after I asked her to notice the forwarded email and provided the date, place and link- she told me yes to caterers and that the details were on the form.

So....Still wondering.

I think I'll pass. Last year's Tomorrowland Dessert Party was a let down. The miracle whip cream / mousse crap they use for everything now is just about as disgusting as it gets. We are eating at Cape May Cafe buffet dinner that night at 7pm, with unlimited and hopefully better desserts.

Hi everyone!! We are staying at the Beach Club August 22-29th. It's myself and hubby and our 3 boys. I'm super excited!! This is our second trip to WDW. We stayed at POR in Feb 2014. I've been a lurker on the boards since planning for that trip :) I just wanted to say hello! Getting ready to really dig into this awesome thread :)

My plan is too pick up some wine from each country :) But I love the thought of some slushies in a refillable mug!

I wanted to try the Wishes dessert party, but unfortunately didn't do it before the price increase and changes. We will still see ya at the BC :)

Magic bands arrived today! 25 days to go. Can I start packing yet???
Of course!! Except if you are me, and wait until the very last minute. I like to refer to myself as a packcrastinator ;)
