Thank you Blue Skies! Do you know what the view is for the rooms that overlook the lobby? And there are no standard Club level rooms with a king bed, right?
The view from the standard RPC CL rooms on the atrium side are of the beach pool/ VGF/Poly and a bit of the lagoon too...its a very pretty view ...I do believe that there are one or two standard king CL rooms...but they are attached to the suites..so that if some one books a one bedroom suite the king might be available..but not necessarily....
We just got back stayed in room 6315. We had a great few of the marina and the ease of getting to and from the lounge but the door opened towards the lounge and was quite noisy at times. I would agree with Close to lounge, full tub and quiet. I can not say enough about the staff. We had to change so many ADR's and Fast Pass selections and they were just great. You are going to love the Grand Floridian and Sugar Loaf worth every penny.
The room that you had was right over the atrium in SL which might account for some of noise that you heard from the lounge....such a great room location though right in the center of the building...
How long would it take to get from GF to WL for dinner? I'm guessing the quickest option would be the monorail to MK and then the boat to WL? Is an hour enough time?
TIA!
We have done that very route a few times now...and while it might not be as fast as a taxi...its a very nice leisurely trip.. very scenic..kind of a water tour of the whole Seven Seas /Bay Lake area....I also would allot about 40 minutes travel time....
Anyone else second guessing staying at the Gf. I was really looking forward to it until I saw the monorail is going thru a refurb. MK is our main park for 3 out of 6 days. Does anyone know if the monorail should be running after
MNSSHP? We really wanted the ease of hopping on the monorail back to the hotel on our 2 MNSSHP party nights. Plus we have a pre park opening CP adr
I our experience..when the monorail is not running..there are plenty of alternatives..from larger, additional water craft...to buses running even to the other monorail resorts and Epcot...and really have not found this to have had a negative impact on our vacation...JMO....
Counting the days
The time is going to fly!!!!
I also like to do mono to cr then boat. You can also boat from GF to MK then transfer to another boat.
Dd knows I love the boats so she tolerates my choices
Besides a happy mom will go again next year
Came back to add: there is a bus from MK to WL that runs continuously. We found that faster than the boats on our last WL stay.(just a few minutes)
I agree..boat travel around the world is so very nice! And fun!
Good ot know about the buses too...
We are planning lunch at Kona,
the new beach side lunch service and Traders!!! I even have a dress with fringe at the hem I am bringing just for my Trader day. SO kinda a hula
I miss my Poly!!
Do tell..Inquiring mind here....what is this new lunch service ??? Its always about the food....
Morning All! Thinking of possibly switching to a standard view studio at the VGF for sept. Have a few questions I am hoping you can help me with. First what's going on with the monorail? We'll be there 9-1 to 9-8.
I am traveling with an almost 7 month old and my 13 year old by myself. My goal is to be close to the main building and transportation. What room request should I make? Just be vague and note what I just mentioned above?
Is the walk to the main building to and from the villas long?
Where do you check in at the villas building or main building? We will be arriving via DME.
I've read in a few other threads that some resort gift shops are starting to carry cases of water. Has anyone seen them at the GF? Need bottles of water to make the baby's bottles.
Appreciate the help!
There are now cases of water available in Sandy Cove....the sundries shop in the lobby of the GF....
Just about to do online check in and was wondering if there are any standard club level rooms that include a view of the water pageant? I would like to request this but I don't want to request something out of my room category. Thank you all for helping us plan our first stay at RPC
None that I know of....the best viewing spot for that would be at the boat dock...
I don't think so, that would be a lagoon or theme park view. But there is a large balcony in RPC on 3rd floor just around the corner from CM desk to your right where you can view it over at Poly. We used it and were the only ones on balcony!
But possibly if you have a beach pool view you may be able to see? Hopefully someone will be able to say for sure.
Great balcony....
Break over, back to work! Anybody have any nice beach pictures? Mine all have my DH in them so not postable.
i will take a look through my trove of pictures...lol...
..Thank you for posting so many of yours....Nothing like a mid day GF picture pick me up!!!
This is probably a dumb question but in sugarloaf if yr on an upper flor can u see the castle or fire works from MK?
There is only one area of the building with balconies that jut out far enough to possibly see some of the fireworks...but I do believe that there are trees in the way....Better viewing would be to just head out of the building down to the boat dock....
We arrive 8/12!!! Our flight arrives at 10:15am so we should have a great arrival day!!!
I love looking at all the pictures here of the GF. If all had gone right this year, we would be there right now. Instead, we got the tuition bill for DS college last night. In the meantime, I sent AAA an email for prices for a trip at the GF next year. Surprisingly, it is less than the prices on line direct from Disney. Well, it's nice to dream about going to the GF next year. This time next year, we will have 2 college tuition bills to pay.
Keep posting pics of the GF!!!
As to seeing the fireworks from SL, we stayed on the marina side and if you leaned over a bit, you could catch a glimpse of them. The view in front of Gasparilla is much better.
Have a Grand day my friends.
MommyG Hoping that you will be booking another GF trip soon too! Glad to hear that AAA had good rates....Hope that you have a Grand day too!
Hi everyone I've got a question about standard view rooms at the Grand Floridian, I've seen some pictures that feature a table in the room with a chair, then underneath that table is another table on wheels that can be pulled out and moved around. Are those in all of the rooms? I've seen some room pictures that have them and some that don't, we've been in other resorts that have those and really found them useful so I was hoping GF would have it too. Anyone who is finials with the GF and knows if they are in all or most rooms, I'd love to hear from you!
Thanks!
All of the rooms that we have stayed in since the renovations have had that trundle table....it so nice a convenient...and easy to move to other areas of the room too....
grannyminnie I too still lament about those sticky buns being gone....They were soooo incredibly good!!
Hope that all of my fellow GF fans are having a fab Friday!!
preppy GF gal who is counting down the days till we get to make FPP !!! Its all about the planning some times...lol...
