Disney's YACHT & BEACH CLUB RESORTS Information & Questions

Had a mini heart attack today! I had to cancel one member of our party. TA said we could get a refund on the ticket for the canceled person, but would cancel all of our tickets, then readd them back - losing our fast passes! I almost cried. There is no way I would be able to get mine train again 2 weeks out! But at the same time, the fast passes weren't worth the 300 I am getting back. I told her to go ahead and do it but to call me as soon as the tickets were added so I could try to pick them back up.

Turns out they were able to drop the ticket without canceling ours. Not sure what changed but I'm super happy! my FP are still showing in MDE and I even called the helpdesk to verify. Whew.

Quick question...how do I request to have a room with a sleep sofa? That wasn't a choice when i did my online check in.

You would have to call resort reservations and have them add the request to your reservation. If you booked through a TA then they would have to call Disney on your behalf.

We are here!!! Arrived around 12/12:30 and room was ready. We booked a standard view, requested not first floor, full balcony & daybed and we had our requests met and have a GV room. We are by the Epcot entrance (can even see some WS roof tops from the room), but we have a stroller, so the steps won't always come in handy. And I have a box of Tastycake Chocolate Cupcakes waiting for Teena on Sunday (or Monday)! Hopefully my kids don't find where I hid them!!!! Now off to get my pedicure I couldn't fit in before we left.

I would greatly appreciate a spa review and pictures. Enjoy your stay!

Our countdown is at 100 days today. Just wanted to say how incredibly helpful this thread has been after reading through it the past few weeks. Thanks all!

Double digits tomorrow! Woohoo!!!

I second that. I've been following this thread for at least four months and everyone is pleasant, helpful, and encouraging. Simply grateful to the host and fellow threaders. : o )

Do you guys use the H2o products or bring your own. The soap, shampoo and conditioner ??

I've always brought my own but if the products are that good I might not bring our stuff.

Spa was very nice. Pedi prices were in line with the nice spas by me in NJ, not nail places, but spas. It was 55 plus gratuity for 45 minutes. The 15% AP discount made it even nicer. The massage chairs are comfortable and my feet felt refreshed. Staff was very helpful & friendly. Not a huge selection of polishes, but enough. It was definitely a relaxing atmosphere, but I was basically the only client!!! I would go back for sure.

I always bring my own, but I take all the little bottles home...I have a HUGE supply of them! I do sometimes use them in the shower or use the lotion. H2O is a good brand...I like it.

We travel with carry-ons only, so we use the hotel shampoo and soap. I think it's pretty good. I will say that that one tiny bottle of shampoo isn't really enough... last time at the YC my DD and I found the "mousekeeper" in our hallway and we asked for more. She took one look at how long my DD's hair was and smiled and handed us a handful of those tiny bottles.

I have to bring my own shampoo/conditioner and cleansers. I am also bringing oatmeal bath just in case I get a rash even with all my precaution. The others will use the H2O products. I could not wash my cloths in a community washing machine, because of the detergent residue from the previous users. I think the H2O products smell nice.

Shhhh... Don't tell anyone...

In 4 stays at the Beach Club I have yet to eat at Beaches & Cream

I had a reservation there for my upcoming trip, but cancelled it as a result of peer pressure
::yes::

I resemble this remark...

Thanks- I have never used the laundry rooms and it does appear that these are secret laundry rooms because they are not on the resort map I have.

If anyone can provide room numbers, that would be great.

For BC, I have the descriptions "near quiet pool" and "near room 1532"- is this the same laundry room or are these descriptions of the two at the Beach Club.

:thumbsup2

The secret to finding the secret laundry room is that if you know where the secret Beach Club exit door is (Rm. 1501) you can go outside and walk further down on the outside path (away from Epcot) and the next secret door is where the secret small laundry room is.

Got that? LOL!!!!!

Erika comments in her report about the access changes due to the work on the first floor rooms

The BC Secret Entrance/Exit is not currently available from the first floor hallways because of the current work. If you are on one of the upper floors, you can still get to the exit/entrance.

:goodvibes:

Agghhhh!!! I was hoping that area would still be under construction during my visit so I could snag a special souvenir!

I've always brought my own but if the products are that good I might not bring our stuff.

I bring my own 'poo and conditioner but the stuff they have at the Deluxe resorts is just as good as the stuff I bring from home.

Now if you are talking about the abominations in hair care products they offer at the Value resorts that is a completely different story! I call that combo 'poo/conditioner crap they put in a bottle BRILLO for hair. God help the woman that forgets her shampoo and has to rely on that product. Your hair will turn on you and never forgive you. This is what your hair will look like for the duration of your trip:

If I found myself at PLOP Century and I left my 'poo/conditioner at home I would take a shot at using a Tide pod on my hair before I would crack open a bottle of that Value resort combination shampoo.

Also keep in mind that you can ask Mousekeeping for extra Shampoo, conditioner, soap etc. They really don't mind hooking you up.

PS Can I come to that get together you are having? I promise I'll be good (Sorry...NOT sorry)

I didn't know this. Where did you see the info?

:thumbsup2

in this thread, or the thread about deluxe rooms. Someone showed pictures just a few days ago and it was a pull out, she said it was a full size. I called IPO and asked them, they called the back room and confirmed that all the deluxe rooms that are remodeled have a queen sofa pull out in them instead of a day bed. I really thought about changing this room back to a normal club level room, but she talked me out of it and said I could always ask once I saw the room to downgrade back to a standard view, which is another thing she confirmed for me. All garden view club level and all lagoon club level rooms now only sleep 4, she said there are no day beds in any of them, she said.

Yes, ma'am! We just got word earlier this week about this Thanks, Erika! It was pretty stealth. Right Cathy? @catho72

Here is a sign I saw posted on FB this morning. Looks like they are attempting to get the word out now-

:beach:

YES! Extremely stealth! Each of the five of us will still say at random times, "I can't believe we were at BC for 9 nights and NEVER noticed they are now serving Dole Whips!" I take comfort in the fact that I'm not the only one who didn't notice. Here's the kicker....we sat in front of the snack shack EVERY SINGLE DAY!!!!! That's "our spot"....in front of the volleyball net. My head is still hung in shame.

I just have to say (as I'm sitting on my balcony overlooking the quiet pool) that I'm in LOVE. We've always stayed in MK area hotels, but we have only been at the BC one day and I think I have a new favorite. We were a split stay at PVB studios and this just feels like a breath of fresh air. I can't put my finger on it, but something just didn't feel "right" there :)

I can see plastic on the windows on the first floor below us, and we can access the door at the end of our hall to get to the stairs to go to Epcot, but were told you can't go in that way from the outside, we didn't try because we had sleeping kids in a stroller.

These new rooms are gorgeous! Our bellman told us we were the first to stay in ours, but I thought the second floor had been done for a little while, didn't know if he was just trying to make us feel special? Either way it looks (and smells) brand new.

Does anyone else feel like the sand pool is an amazing exfoliator, I swear I've had sugar scrubs that feel just like that, haha.

Glad you love it so much! Between not knowing if the remodeling on the Yacht Club rooms possibly is going to annoy my husband on days he wants to sleep in and hearing how nice the BC new rooms are the more I'm wondering if we should switch over to BC for our Nov. trip. I called about it two weeks ago and I'll lose our free dining if we make the switch.

Enjoy the rest of your vacation!

LOL, @natebenma, I need to change my signature because it is happening. :) 10/26-10/29 at BC for the guest list! Thanks!

Got it!

Thanks for the clarification.

That has been the case for awhile with the club level GV and WV rooms. They could not be booked for families of 5 because most did not have daybeds.

I hope the room situation works out for you!

I'm so happy to hear your review and that you love your stay so far! Thanks for your on-the-scene report!

I'm not sure if I have seen you post here before, so just in case, :welcome:

Not sure if what the bellman told you is true or not, but perhaps they weren't putting guests in the 2nd floor rooms that were directly above the 1st floor rooms where work was happening, so maybe you are the first guests.

:)
