What is a reasonable offer.

Hi,
We are about to purchase a DVC resale contract. This will be our first time. I was was wondering what would be deemed a reasonable offer. The contract is 200 points and is priced at $84 per point. What do you think my opening offer should be? I know that Disney has the ROFR but how speculative can the buyer be when making an offer?

Thanks in advance for any help. :earboy2::stitch::maleficen:mickeyjum

We just offered the asking price, one contract was at $79, the other was at $87 so they averaged each other out. Both passed ROFR no problems. I'm assuming at that price you're looking at Saratoga?

What resort? Are the full allotment of points available for 2016? What is left (or banked) from 2015? Really need that info to answer the question. Also, what has the seller said about annual dues and closing costs? Those are negotiable, too.

If you haven't already, take a look at the ROFR thread from the DVC - Purchasing Forum to see the offers that have been passing lately.

ROFR Thread September-December 2015

Good luck!

The contract is for 200 points at SSR with a Feb use year. 186 points coming in 2016 and closing costs of $530 annual dues for 2016 to be paid by the buyer.

Keeping in mind that there are well over 100 listings for SSR right now, I think I'd offer $16,500 and ask the seller to pay the closing costs (in addition to the dues for 2016). Good luck!
