Is the Castaway Club gift still a tote bag? I'm working on my packing list and if I don't have to pack a tote bag for excursions, that would be great!

For the past several years the basic gift has been a bag of some sort - beach bag, sling bag, or backpack. We got a beach bag on our past October cruise.

We just got the beach/tote bag on the Magic last week. It looks exactly like the one we got 18 months ago on the Fantasy, except handles/straps are different.

We got a tote bag on the Dream earlier this month. It was different from the ones we got last year. The new ones have a burlap panel and a slightly different design.

Bad picture. I wasn't really taking it of the tote. Mine looked like this though. It has Disney in gold lettering on the side. It was really hard to see in gold. From a distance it just looked like Cruise Line.

It IS well made though. (This was from September of 2015)

Is the bag zippered? I can't tell in the package. It's also our second cruise, so not having to pack a beach bag would be great! But zippers are a must...Thanks!!

Just got off the Dream this morning. This was our Gold CC gift. Just a note, the burlap panels STINK. We used it one time, and everything we put in the bag smelled like stinky burlap. The rest of the trip the bag stayed in the table/storage thingy. Stinky burlap aside, the bag is made well and very cute. It's a good size as well.

Yes, it does zip. There is also a little zippered burlap pocket inside the bag.

The basic gift for all levels is the bag. Well, A bag, as it can vary as to which one. Gold and Platinum get additional gifts.

Just back from the Fantasy. The silver gift was the old canvas bag and the gold and platinum got the burlap version. Checked at Guest Services as to why I did not get the burlap bag and that was the response I got.

In my opinion, they're just using up the old stock that way.

I agree that the burlap bag smelled bad. We put it out on our verandah in the hopes of eliminating the odor, but by the end of our 3-night cruise, it still smelled badly enough that we decided not to take the tote bag home.

No smell from ours. =) Thankfully not burlap. If we get something different on our 4/29 cruise I'll post a pic.

That's not the burlap bag. I don't think the canvas bag has been reported to have a smell.
