What is your not so normal item to pack, which is helpful while at WDW ?

Sounds ridiculous, but I take a small portable microwave. We do rope drops and always take a mid day break back at the hotel to gear up for an afternoon/evening back at a park.
1. We save money by eating lunch in the room
2. The microwave opens up options for lunch
3. Most resorts they are not available but if the are, there is an extra fee of course..

I pack my Thinner scale since I weigh myself every morning. It fits in a carry-on if I decide I'm not bringing checked luggage, and it is very light.

I downloaded an app for my phone that make the sound of a fan. It covers all the noises that might wake you up. Didn't drain the battery either.

The one I have is Bed Time

That is such a great idea! Am going down in April with my sister, our mom, my sister's two sons (both in their 30's) the wife of one of them and their 10 y/o son. We are getting a two bedroom at the Kidani then moving half week to two studios at Wilderness Lodge DVC. Lots of different "breathing/snoring" noises plus people being up in the middle of the night. This way I can block it all out and get my beauty rest, lol!

All resorts have microwaves for the guests to use in their food courts. No need to lug one down.

Sorry if I'm on the wrong forum but somewhere I saw Frosty Towels mentioned. Can these be bought in a store or only online? Also, how much are they please. I live in the UK. Thank you

This is true but its easier to take a small microwave to my room 1 time than to go to the food court every day
The problem being you may be told you are not allowed to use it. Disney frowns on people bringing in their own cooking appliances.

I'm not sure if Frosty towels are like Frogg Toggs or not. But, I have the toggs and
when you wet them and ring them out, they can be placed anywhere you want to be cooled
down. I cut mine in half and carry one in a plastic bag and wear the other one around my neck,
then when the one I am wearing sort of "warms' up, I pull the one out of the baggie and
go thru the same steps. I use the plastic bag and I use water fountains to rewet the "warm"
togg up...It's amazing how wonderful they can keep you cool.

We use frosty towels and love them! I just ordered 3 more. I got them right from the website frostytowel.com We bought 3 from the website for what they charge for ONE at the parks!

Have to agree with Maxiesmom here. A little scary when people start cooking in the rooms. Really is a safety issue. Never know what that outlet is rated for, never know if the cord gets cut a bit during travel. Various other issues. Same thing with the toasters. You are in a building with a lot of people is it worth it to possibly disrupt their vacation with a smoke alarm or worse. Its only a week or two, leave the kitchen appliances at home and enjoy the time off.

Wish we had one! DS10 broke his glasses the first day!! Lost the little screw. We ended up buying super glue and it worked.
I bought a little kit like this on Amazon for a few dollars and I keep it inside my big sunglasses case so I always know where it is. That tiny screwdriver is a miracle if you still happen to have the screw (if it falls out on the bathroom floor or in your hand) and my kit has a few extras in diff sizes just in case). I wear glasses constantly so this is a very big deal.

They sell these at WalMart, as well.

Also, for all the people who wear glasses. I take an extra pair on all vacations, even day road trips.
I also choose to wear older pairs to water parks just in case they get damaged or lost.
