Disney's BOARDWALK INN Information & Questions

The 3rd floor deluxe rooms have bigger balconies. The 4th floor balconies are the same size as regular rooms. The balconies are nice on the 3rd floor but we do like being on the 4th floor. Depends on what your priorities are. The view from all of the deluxe rooms is awesome:cloud9:

Thank you so much for the info. Decisions, decisions! We will be staying for a week but some days we will have 4 people in the room and some nights just my husband and I as my sister and niece will be arriving later in the week. I was planning on asking for the fourth floor because I really like being inside the Inn Keepers doors and on the same floor as the lounge but the chance to have a large balcony with 4 people would be a plus. The last three stays at the BWI CL the balconies are really only big enough for one person to sit out on.

Would the third floor balconies be big enough for four to sit out on? Or at least two comfortably? Really looking forward to Christmas at Disney with family I just need to figure out what is more important or (Gasp!) just wing it and let the room assigner Gods choose.

4th floor would be cramped 3rd floor would be comfortable. We have had 5-6 out at a time standing room on the 3rd but still can work. I like being behind the doors too!!

Boardwalk villas used to have hard wired ethernet. When they went to wifi did they leave the hardwired installed as well??

Any idea on what portion of the villas have not undergone refurb yet? Trying to prepare myself mentally for the possibility of not getting a refurbed room for our trip next week ;)

Could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure all the villas rooms have been rehabbed at this point. They are now working on the BCV rooms.

Ok, thank you. I thought I had read that refurb wouldn't be complete until August. Perhaps (hopefully!) I misread that ;)

Any recommendations for online checkin requests for the first week in July - standard room? To avoid construction hopefully...

Piggybacking on above request. We also have a standard room booked, just one night, fairly late arrival. As such, we don't care too much, but will be swimming in the morning, so accessing the pool easily would be nice. We usually like ground floor, due to stroller, but what is ground floor like here? Too bad there is no request option for "no long hallway walk"!

Do all rooms have a daybed? We stayed here in May and had a King with daybed. We are considering going back in December; but would like 2 Queens with daybed. Thanks.

Kook-promising now there will be pics posted here in July!!

:thumbsup2:goodvibes

I stopped counting after 550... too much math lol! :) Actually, I've been going to WDW since it opened in 1971 with my 2nd trip being in April, 1972 (I'm an oldie :) ) When I lived in Chicago (born and raised) we would visit several times a year. However, we've been living in South Florida for a very, very long time now and traveling to Disney can be done in a day. We can leave in the morning, spend the day, and be back in our own beds the same evening. We've done that a few times (about 6 or so) but all the other trips included on-site hotel stays.

We've had many, many special experiences at WDW including attending the grand opening of The Boardwalk. They had a scavenger hunt! It was so much fun! Other grand openings include MGM Studios (ah, the memories), Blizzard Beach, AKL, WL, Pop Century, AofA and so many others.

How exciting!

With smiles like this :teeth::teeth:

:yay:

I agree with this. I had a scoop of vanilla with hot fudge, and the hot fudge was great, but the ice cream, even vanilla, had absolutely no flavor, and was grainy. My DH had the Coffee toffee coffee, and it was creamy and had a good flavor, but I think I'll head to France for ice cream in December.

This is good to know, thanks for posting.

I walked to the NY Pier to check out the ships in for fleet week. On the way back, stopped into the Ample Hills creamery on 11th and 45th. OMG I am so sorry I hadn't discovered this before. Or maybe it's better off I hadn't.

Very cool!

Bellevue Lounge morning set up...toasting station is in the back ground...

Thank you for posting your photo, @BlueSkies.

Got all my fast passes done today. Now I'll spend the next 60 days tweaking them. I can't wait to get back home to BWI!

Uh oh, I know what happens when you start innocently tweaking. But, it's probably better than twerking...

Just wanted to say: 3 MORE DAYS!! I really hope I got my room requests (fingers crossed).

I hope you're having a magical vacation!

So we added another day to the front of our trip, now arriving on 12/16...our "short" 5 night stay has now morphed into a 7 night stay. Oh, the sacrifices we make for being able to fly out of our home airport 20 minutes away, and not drive hours to a larger one, LOL!!

Good call and adding days is always a sacrifice:snooty:

Great thread, thanks for all the information. Staying at BWV as part of a split stay in September. First time since 2003 or so. We had Boardwalk view then, now we have the other (garden? I don't remember what DVC calls it, but not standard). Would it be too many requests if we ask for top floor and view of the clown pool? I seriously like that pool.

Welcome to our little thread, @skoi. You can have those requests added, just put them in order of importance.

For the first time, I am going to do online check-in! We have a Preferred Studio - Garden/Pool View booked for July. I know I am definitely going to request an "Upper Floor," but I am trying to decide if I want to also request "Pool View" or just make the one request and leave the rest to chance. Any thoughts?

It doesn't hurt to add another request, just put them in order of preference. If a request doesn't appear in the OCI list, just call and have the request added to your reservation.

For a BWI SV room you can get any view except a BWV. Most prefer the "Epcot View" which are rooms facing the quiet pool/garden area with the Eiffel Tower in the distance. It's hard to know exactly where they'll be painting, etc... in July. All the resorts have some maintenance going on pretty much all the time. If your room location isn't suitable, you can always go back to the front desk and inquire about an alternative location.

See my reply above and for just one night, I think you'll be fine.

Yes, @Traceylee.

Is there any way to get a special birthday noted without ringing up? There used to be an option when booking ADRs but no more

What's the quality and speed of the wifi / internet at BWV these days?

Have a friend possibly coming with us this November and he may need to do some work (email, VPN to work systems, etc.).

I'm so excited! I just booked a long weekend solo getaway at BWV in July 8-11! I was so happy to get a DVC room at my favorite resort. 32 days until I'm home!!

Just booked May 4-12, 2017 in a studio villa with a Boardwalk view. :cool1: Can't wait to stay at our home resort. Need to figure out when to tell DH that I did this. He didn't want to hear anything about our September trip the other week. :confused3

I will be staying at BWV, in a boardwalk view studio from July 24-Aug 11, this is my first stay at the Boardwalk. Does anybody know if your room is on the first floor can you exit through your patio to the Boardwalk, or do you have to exit through the hotel?
