Disney's YACHT & BEACH CLUB RESORTS Information & Questions

No DVD players, but I'm sure if you ask they will bring one to you. Interestingly, the newly renovated rooms had no clocks in them, but I called the front desk and they brought one of the old white ones up.
Real bummer. When we asked as the Poly in January they said they had them for VIPs only but they would make an exception. I don't think they were joking either. Guess we will try to ask for one when we get there but will bring our own in case. We really enjoy having at least one quiet night while in the world for a longer trip.

Hi all. Just sitting on my balcony at YC enjoying my morning coffee. We reserved a garden view and requested just two things. Gazebo view and a day bed. We did not do online checkin. We have a beautiful view of the gazebo and the lighthouse. If I'm not mistaken, we e had this room before! The room looks great. No visible signs of wear and tear. Shower pressure is awesome! I also wanted to let you know that the bus stop does in fact have the wait time screen.

Countdown to arrival is almost on one hand! I don't see any outstanding requests right now but if anyone needs us to check on anything while we are at BCVs let me know. I will try my best to give live reports with pictures, including from our room. I will also give an update on the refurb. Anything else?

Also, we are really friendly folks who enjoy a lot of time at SAB. We always try to grab a table in the area in front of where they play water volleyball so if you are there look for us. You can't miss us, we have the big plastic wine and champagne glasses so please come by and say hello and join us for a cocktail.

Let the packing begin!

I don't know how many there are.

From post #5 of this Thread.

Self-service laundry rooms are located near the BC quiet pool and in between BC rooms 1530 and 1532. There is a laundry room near the YC quiet pool and another small laundry room may be found on the first floor of the YC, near the side exit (wedding gazebo side). There are washers and dryers in the BCV 1 and 2 BR villas, and there is a laundry room available for DVC members in the building.

The machines are HE (High Efficiency) so if you have regular detergent you only use 1/4 of the amount needed for normal washers. Signs in the laundry room say 2 Tablespoons of detergent. Tide Pods work fine in these machines. Detergent may be purchased in the laundry room or in the BC Marketplace.
Disney Resort Laundry View

This website http://www.laundryview.com/disneyworld will tell you how many washers and dryers are available so you don't have to make a trip down there unless there is availability. You may also monitor where in the cycle your laundry is through your phone by scanning the QR code from the machine with your phone. You can also set up to receive alerts by text to notify you when the wash is done.

The washers and dryers and detergent dispensers use credit or debit cards for payment. Coins/Cash are no longer accepted methods of payment.

$3.00 per wash load and $3.00 per load for the dryer.
Thank you so much for this info:) It's going to make holiday laundry a breeze, let's face it we can all think of other things we should do while we are there. At least being able to take a dip and read a book will help to pass the time. At least the laundry rooms by the quiet pools have a nice view outdoors. Good for keeping an eye on the family, and a breath of fresh air. I can also bring less washing detergent which is also great.

CHANGES TO BEDDING CONFIGURATION AT BEACH CLUB VILLAS

Owners and guests at Disney's Beach Club Villas are likely to be pleased with a change to the sleeping configuration implemented during the current refurbishment.

The new issue of DisneyFiles Magazine confirms a surprising change at the Beach Club Villas: dedicated Two Bedroom Villas are being equipped with two queen beds in the second bedroom.

In a sidebar labeled "Pardon Our Pixie Dust", the magazine has this to say about the Beach Club refurbisment project:

The first wave of accommodations underwent refurbishment in January, receiving refreshed decor and fabrics, updated bathrooms, larger televisions, a second queen bed in the second bedroom of two-bedroom villas (replacing that bedroom's sleeper sofa, based upon Member feedback) and more. The addition of a new fifth sleeper in Deluxe Studios also is part of this project, slated to continue through the summer.

The modification is limited to dedicated Two Bedroom Villas. Lockoff Two Bedroom Villas can be separated into Deluxe Studio and One Bedroom accommodations and rented to separate parties. The studio portion of a lockoff will retain the queen bed plus sofabed configuration.

This modification bring Disney's Beach Club Villas into line with all other Disney Vacation Club resorts by offering the dual queen bed setup in dedicated rooms. Previously only a small number of Two Bedroom villas at the Beach Club had the two queen beds, while remaining dedicated rooms had the queen plus sofabed setup.

Can someone check the cost of the water at the marketplace? looking for a 24 case. Thanks!

Is November really popular this year? We have a reservation but other family want to come and only club level suites are available. It is the tail end of food and wine but I'm still surprised. Maybe more rooms will open up?

The crowds this week seem to be much heavier than they have been during this same timeframe in years past. We were in a FP line at TT @ Epcot yesterday for over 40 min. for example. On a good note, we have had good luck catching busses w/o much wait at all. I love the wait time screen!

I will check price of a case of water at BC Marketplace and let you know Mintycake

Could someone help me please. I am just about to book a garden view room at the Beach Club but noticed they only have 2 queen beds and not a king bed in these rooms? I find it odd that they wouldn't offer king beds in rooms with garden views? Is this the case or is this a typo on Disney's part?

Thanks! :)

Well.... We just returned from the most magical week at the Beach Club. We were given a huge sprinkle of pixie dust when we checked in. We booked a standard view room and were given anything but that. We were upgraded to a water view. We overlooked Crescent Lake for a week! Being back to reality and not having my morning coffee on the balcony is pretty depressing! Already looking forward to our next trip to the BC. We are staying at the BW for Easter and heading back to the BC for Halloween 2017. Can't wait! Thanks for all the planning help!

Interesting. Is this the UK site? I'm looking at the Disney booking site in the US, and garden club rooms state this: "2 Queen Beds and 1 Day Bed or 1 Queen Bed and 1 Twin-Size Sleeper Chair and 1 Day Bed or 2 Queen Beds or 1 King Bed and 1 Day Bed or 1 King Bed"

However, the garden club level option says only 2 Queen Beds.

If anyone has ever wanted to capture that soothing music that plays on the speakers at the quiet pool and on BC grounds, I "shazam'd" it which turned up a song by Bill Mize (not all of the songs are by BM).
Then I went to Pandora (free app) and created a new station called "Bill Mize" and it is exactly like the music at the Beach Club!

Also, Acoustic Alchemy plays throughout Beach Club. I'm listening to them now!

Hi everyone! We arrive at The Beach Club in just two weeks and I am trying to get all of the little details nailed down. We are planning to spend an afternoon and evening at Disney Springs, we have an ADR for Raglan Road which I have heard great things about. Anyway we are driving down and will have our van, so I was wondering if we should drive or take Disney transportation. My mom will have an ecv with her and we will have my DH, DD17 and DD9 too. Any thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated.
