Does anyone have a recent update on how and where the roof Refurb on Building 85 is going? I paid no attention to the refurb pages and requested a room in that building (we booked a King Room).

We just checked out today. We were in building 85. We never heard any noise from it and never really saw anything. There is some fencing up towards the right if you are facing the building from old man island
 
Random question...is the pool heated? We are coming in January off the Dream and arent planning to hit up any parks that first day. But I fear it could be too cold in January unless the pools are heated.

Anyone know?

They heat the pools in winter. You can see the steam rising off them when the air is colder than the water temp. We always see people swimming, even when it is in the 50's. :)

We got a cute towel animal on this trip. I thought they didn't make them anymore so I was very pleased to receive this one. :)

Thanks for the update. That does make me feel a bit better. I may not even get that building but if they are able to as I requested at least I have an idea what to expect
 
What is the cut off to modify online check in requests? I am 27 days out and am trying to modify my request for upper floor to ground floor. I will be in AB (preffered room) and have mobility concerns for this trip. I will require a cane and possibly a wheelchair in parks.
My online check in request says upper floor, and it won't let me change it. Any ideas?
 
I'm not sure you can modify the online request, but you can send a fax to room assignor 4-5 days before arrival explaining your change of requests. Be sure you tell them why. Last time we stayed I was recovering from knee surgery and I included that in my building request. I got a great location that was perfect for me.

Super excited to be planning my 40th birthday trip this November and we are staying at our favorite resort. . . POR! I do have a question. Can I have someone at the front desk check us in on-line and print boarding passes for our flight home? We are flying Spirit and I don't think they participate in the resort airline check in service. We won't be able to check in for our flight until close to 10 or 11 pm because it is a late flight. Does that make a difference?
 
Could anyone shed some light on how room views work for King rooms? I'm sure I'm just missing it, but I haven't been able to find it stated explicitly. If you book a King room, are the view tiers the same price? For example, if I want a river view King room, I would book King and request river view - is that correct?

Concierge at the front desk does this. We fly spirit too!

The Concierge desk can help you with printing boarding passes. However if you've already done the online checkin yourself (e.g. on a laptop, phone or tablet) you'll need to provide the desk with your access details and they will do the printing for you - you can't just give them a memory stick with PDF documents for printing for example.

Yes, that's correct. All of the rooms which have king beds are booked under the King Bed category, whatever their location or view type. So you could quite legitimately put in a request for one to face the river, or be in a 'preferred location' building (or both even). Of course requests are not guaranteed, but you would not be asking for any kind of upgrade from what you have booked.

I've never had to worry about this before as we've always flown airlines that participate in the resort airline check in service. Thanks so much for your help.

You can always check in online for flight at 10:00pm when your Check in window is, then log back in next morning to print boarding passes. Or print them at the airport with self serve kiosk, if your airline has that. I have often done my online flight check ins without printing boarding passes....sometimes getting boarding passes when I check baggage at airport.

I don't think they normally do, but you can always do the checkin part yourself on your phone/etc and then print the boarding passes out after 8am when Concierge opens the next morning.

DD and I check-in to POR on Wednesday, June 22nd. I know faxed room requests should be sent 3-5 days prior to check-in. Since I only have access to a fax at work, should I fax my request on Friday, June 17th or wait until Monday, June 20th? Thank you!
