Wonder crew member arrested for rape

a wonder crew member was arrested for rape against another wonder crew member. They were on the ship rhapsody which was used as a hotel for the wonder crew while the wonder was in dry dock.

Definitely horrible. However, the statement should be with the correct preposition -"rape OF another crew member". WITH implies consent OR that said crew member acted with another person to attack the survivor so it was more a gang rape.

Just proof that no matter how good background checks are, people will fall through the cracks.

Just wondering can you provide sources for your two stories. With no link or anything this comes off as a hearsay situation and those are some pretty hefty allegations.

Also I don't live in PG but that is a lot of unnecessary information. I just expect the average reports in that type of situation not the full details of their sexual relationship.

As is often pointed out, this board is NOT all adults. Children read things on here. The details of the alleged crime were not necessary for your post at all. It's not about being PG as an adult. I can cuss a sailor under the table but I know when and where to use adult language and terms. It is offensive to those whose children might read it or who are, in fact, living a PG life as an adult.

With all due respect, I absolutely love this community and the boards, but I am very discouraged by the amount of heavy criticism that befalls posters. Is it okay to correct someone? Surely. But couldn't we all take a moment to think before we type. Is it kind? Is it necessary? and most importantly....how can I best phrase this to avoid offending someone, or avoid the appearance of attacking? It has to make new posters uneasy to see that when someone wants to bring new news to the boards, they may have a major tongue lashing coming. I even have those thoughts right now as I post this! Please...let's be a kind and courteous group. It is what Walt would have preferred, I'm sure.

I agree that there can be extreme criticism on here, BUT the original post was VERY graphic and it didn't need to be.

My two corrections were of wording which is NOT helpful or insinuating the correct thing. There is no such thing as "rape with another crew member" unless it was more than one person DOING the attack.

And it's far better to refer to the person on whom the crime was committed as a survivor rather than "victim".
