I need to find a food review with pics of CP. Is it bad that one of the main reasons I want to go to Chef Mickey's is for the Parmesan mashed potatoes? :tiptoe: :rolleyes1

2014 august, which is about a month before I went and it's about what I remember. Here is my review, lol: I remember the food being fine but not spectacular... it is from decent/tasty to pretty good for some items. Chef Mickey's I think tops out at decent/tasty with some that goes down from there. They have mashed potatoes... not parm mashed but I am sure still full of lots of fat and butter and cream to make them yummy and the rotisserie meats were good, I remember having a plate of that with mashed potatoes and veggies. The salmon was my favorite but I waited for them to put out a fresh dish before taking some (i love salmon and i love pesto) and I had seconds of that. Kiddo found plenty to eat. The desserts were fine too, I am not a huge dessert person but anywhere with soft serve machines is usually a hit for me (ice cream is my favorite). This is about my expectation of H&V as well, there will be some things just ok, some things tasty, nothing making my eyes roll in the back of my head. I think that they do a good job over there of keeping buffet clean and neat and replenishing and I think that is where CM falls short from reviews I've read.

@areno79 I definitely agree with everyone else, I think cP is the way to go! Much smoother in your plans, and no rushing and stressing.

So, I should probably start printing my stuff out, eh? Lol. While I'm still at work this week, and can save myself some printer ink :rotfl:

I need to print out my overall itinerary, my pocket cheat sheet, and my packing list. Can't believe how close my trip is getting. One week from right now I'll be headed to Newark Airport! :cool1::cool1::cool1:
That's where I am...I need to start printing......I feel about ten steps behind everyone else...is it my travel date, or just my procrastination???

EVERY food review I have read says CP over CM. But, when I went years ago with little ones, the character interaction and the atmosphere of the restaurant left a better impression than the food. Nothing was bad, nothing memorable....but I am not a fan of buffets. I'd say the same for our breakfast buffet at 1900 Park Fare.

And yet, we have two character buffets planned for this trip...lol!!!

Sitting in our airport hotel before going out for dinner, feeling very excited.

Just wanted to pop in and say thanks so much for the chats, laughs, tips and help over the last few months. I hope you all have fantastic, pixie dust filled trips :santa:
Have a great trip! Safe travels to you!

I hope you feel better fast. At least you have a few days before you leave to get over the worst of it.

Advil seems to work really well for tooth pain, for some reason. I hope the combination of antibiotic and Advil settles down the tooth for awhile.

I've read some pretty bad reviews of CM for dinner. The flow and timing of CP work much better for you. ::yes::

We haven't packed a thing yet. We are just so busy with having our kitchen remodeled at the same time. The cabinets are getting installed on Thursday. Maybe I'll have a kitchen by Christmas - I hope.

But I have purchased a couple of Disney gift cards at Target to use for food purchases. It is much easier to use a gift card at the kiosks and food booths than a MB. Trying to line up Mickey to Mickey and putting in a pin takes twice as long as just handing them the gift card. And the 5% discount on the cards is nice, too.
Hey...you got me thinking...how are kiosks with cash? Planning to have pocket money for snacks.

For me I think it's a combination of the two, lol.

@Wolfpack I have TP for the Lines App. I've never used it on previous trips but I've heard the wait times are more accurate than on MDE so I figured the slight cost was worth it.

Thanks all saw the dr today he said it was post nasal drip, which is weird bc I wasn't stuffy at all. He gave me some cough syrup for bed time (the knock you out kind) and a nasal inhaler - hope it does the trick. For dd he wasn't too concerned but gave her a mild antibiotic. Dh is feeling better so that's good. He had the day off so got a lot done.

hope you are feeling much better on a good night's sleep. I need some knock me out syrup!

This will be our second trip to Disney, first in December! We will be there Dec 1 - 10. I am so excited to see the Christmas decorations. I am trying to keep myself from checking the weather report every. single. hour. Is anyone else holding out on purchasing MVMCP tix until closer to the date so that the weather reports are more reliable? I'm hoping for Dec 6, but if there's a high probability of rain, I'd rather choose another night.

Safe travels to all!

Nope---bought tickets months ago....neither rain nor snow will keep us from MVMCP! Weather looks pretty good for the 6th, we will be there. Hope it stays that way!

Ugghh
Can't find my printed tickets to mvmcp. The control freak in me needs to have them. But it's 1130 already and I need to leave for work at 6am and I need sleep

I printed out the 1st Week of December tags that @SilSprBea designed and my husband laminated it. I made the tag approximately 3 x 5 and plan to attached it to my string bag.

I also pulled out our yellow luggage tags for the Magical Express and combined the rest of the Disney gift cards into two cards. One card will have a small amount for the food kiosks and the other will go against the room charges. We stopped at the ice cream parlor then the drug store for some last minute necessities last night.

And then I collected some small trinkets to trade with the Jawas in the Star Wars exhibit. I have some buttons and other small things.

I'm too excited to sleep!!! Remember those old Disney commercials? That's me right now. We leave tomorrow, but our flight isn't until 730pm bc DH has to work. That gives me the day to finish up my last min stuff. I'm dismissing my boys early from school, DH should be home by 230, my parents are getting here at 3 and then we are leaving here by 330/4 to head to Boston bc we want to avoid rush hour traffic and want time to eat dinner before we get on the plane.
This time tomorrow I'll be on the magical express! :dancer:

Have a great trip. :)

We always leave on the first flight out in the morning because it would be hard to wait all day for the trip to start. :)

I somehow missed that you're from Mass (NH girl here!), or maybe you told me and I forgot!
Have a safe trip tomorrow...hope the day flies by for you!!

Slowly but surely getting there. @Lisa F helped me work out the CP/CM dilemma, and I ended up booking Garden Grill since we wouldn't get another chance to go. I think it will work out perfectly! (UNless I manage to get a Coral Reef ADR. LOL)
Tonight after dinner I went to Ulta and got some more makeup, and travel size shampoo and hair stuff. Then to Walmart to get DH's prescriptions, some more rain ponchos, and the last couple of toiletry items I needed.
Tomorrow I have an appt for a pedicure and manicure. Hoping they can do the Mickey design I have in mind!! Also tried on all of my capris and shorts, now I just have to get things together in some kind of order and put them in the suitcases!

I hope the syrup works for you and you all get to feeling better! When do you leave?

We leave tomorrow too and I'm so excited!!! I have to work for just a bit in the morning and then run a few errands (cash for our dog sitter, drop off Angel Tree gifts, and some others I can't think of at 12:30am). Flight is at 5pm. I really need to get to sleep but my dog is snoring so loudly! This time tomorrow night I should be sound asleep at POP dreaming of our first park day!
