"Official" Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party 2016 - Have Yourself a Very Mickey Christmas.

Can you maybe have an early lunch, then eat dinner around 4 at a counter service? If you get hungry later you can snack on the cookies.

I like option 1 because it is more of a sure thing. There have been reports of Nick and Judy's line being shorter late at night...but it is not a guarantee.

I'm actually not sure...I take it Nick and Judy come out at 7? Or was it a bit before? If it is a little before, I don't think the ducks line really starts to pick up until about 20 til 7. Even then...I feel you'd be done before 8 even if you can't get into the ducks line before 7.
Thanks for the input, this is where I'm struggling, as I agree 1 is the "sure thing" - but I'm hoping my kids will nap for a few hours before the party, making a late lunch hard. I've toyed with trying to find a 4:00 ADR, but I'm worried that will put us behind for Nick & Judy (who come out at 6:15, so I'm hoping we'd be done there before 7).

Oh wait, no that's perfect. Have an early lunch, like around 10:30-11. Then the kids can nap after lunch from noon-3 or so.

Does it have to be an adr? I'd just go do counter service around 4. Then get in line for Nick and Judy. See them before 7, and go immediately to the ducks line.

We're going on the 6th. I held off on buying tickets to watch the weather. I caved in a week or so ago so I could get fastpasses. Now it's showing 80% chance of rain and it's the last day of our trip so it won't help if they offer tickets for another night.
I am also going to the party on 12/6. I keep seeing rain in the AM. Hoping it stays dry for the party!

If you already have Fast passes the day of the party to another park are you allowed to get fast passes for the party too or do you have to wait until you've used all 3 to get some more for the party?

You need to use the 3 original FPs first.

No, doesn't have to be an ADR, I just worry about having long waits at a QS. But I think this is probably the best plan and will make the most of our time. Thanks for helping me think through it!! :)

We have planned our day on Dec. 13th at AK. I noticed the park doesn't close until 7pm that night. I've never been there that late. Are there just a few rides and shows going on at that time? We are wanting to buy tickets to the MVMCP and the only night we can go is that night. Trying to decide what to do. Any suggestions?

Quick party report. 11/29 - 2 adults, 2 kids (4 & 7) Arrived at 5:15. Received Snowman cookies. Planned on earlier but I was very sick and we almost did not go. FP for Jingle Cruise. Kids did Tree House. Bathroom break. Headed to Storybook Circus around 6:20. Found the line forming for Scrooge and joined in. Got cookies and cider while waiting. Cider was lukewarm and snowman cookies were not great. Well, the kids liked them. Despite getting there at 6:30 there were about 30 people ahead of us. Decided not to wait as we wanted the 7:40 stage show. Headed to the just formed Santa Goofy line at 6:45. We were the 3rd family. Wandered over to the Dwarfs to get a look. We were standing on the outside by some small tables and they were going on break. They all walked right by us ( maybe 2 feet away) and waved at the kids. Headed to mickey stage show afterwards. Tons of people already sitting behind white tape in the hub for the 8:30 parade. Show was great. Kinda hard to see as I am 5 feet. One kid held up by hubby, other stood in stroller. I actually wandered to to far left to be able to see by myself while the show was going. Loved the show. Headed to Liberty Square to find a parade spot. Despite being 30 min early the front row looked full. Found a sparse area and asked a family if we could join them. Worked out great. Got ginger cookies (only ok - pretty dry) and baked potatoes from Sleepy Hollow while waiting. Parade was amazing. Kids loved the goofy candy float. Grumpy (my youngest's fav) gave my son a high five. Headed to Tomorrowland . Watched the stage show there. We all enjoyed it. Peppermint cookies and cocoa. Best treat area. Started looking for a fireworks spot. Remembered people mentioning the plaza gardens. Arrived at 10 minutes till 10 and there were a few patches of unclaimed grass plenty big enough for a family a 4 . Had a great view of the castle, fireworks and Tinkerbell all while sitting in an uncrowded area. Perfect! Headed to POC afterwards. Walk on. Peter Pan was wandering around hiding and randomly chatting up kids. We just waved. Decided to head out before the second parade started. Grabbed our party Sorcerers of the MK cards on the way out. 10 minutes wait for POR bus. I was really worried about the crowds and having to wait a ton but somehow we avoided all that. It was a great night and well worth it for or family.

We did the party on 11/29. They let us in around 3:45. I was checking out the rope situation and they seemed to have things roped off pretty well not to allow people anywhere near by that weren't supposed to be there. There were several people right ahead of us though, 2 different groups, that didn't have a party ticket and when they went to scan their bands, they of course couldn't get through. It seemed as though they were just in the wrong line and not trying to pull a fast one, but who knows? Was crowded until 7, but we had our fps. Nice treat stations. Liked the variety this year. But honestly, none of the cookies are very good. I think they should have a chocolate chip one too! We saw the first parade and the fireworks. Both excellent. The rest of the night was riding rides! Short lines of 5-10 minutes all night after 7 for everything but 7DMT and PP. My kiddos are riders, the other stuff doesn't interest them much so that's what we did! We got stuck on Splash near the end of the party and had to be evacuated!! That was an experience. Saw the backstage which my kids thought was cool. Snowing on main street and the castle...just awesome. It's why well be back next time. :santa:

Does anyone know if you are able to apply the purchase price of MVMCP tix towards the purchase of AP's like you are for regular day tix?

Does anyone know if Santa and ms clause are at epcot now or is that only at night? Also are minnie and mickey dressed up at adventure outpost in AK? Really want to know I thought about going there tomorrow. I always miss them every year.

Yes - Mickey and Minnie are in Christmas sweaters at AK. And Santa and Mrs Claus are adorable at Epcot!

Well, I mucked up and didn't get my MVMCP tickets for 12/18 for my family of 4. Is there anyway to get tix once they are sold out? I'm totally despairing right now. Initially in my pre-planning, I thought it'll be ok if we don't go this year--we've been twice previously and it's sooo expensive. Finally went to purchase this AM and they are sold out--the only party during my trip.

Please no comments that I should've gotten them sooner. I'm already devastated. :(
Any suggestions on how we might enjoy our trip in other magical ways on the party night would also be appreciated.

Last year we did quick service at Pinnochios and the wait was not long. We had the flat bread pizzas and salad and it was good.

I'm don't know the ages of those in your party but if you think they would be old enough to enjoy this:

It could make for a very magical evening. If my kids were older I would book this in a heartbeat.

Thanks so much for your suggestion! It sounds wonderful, but it is also booked during my stay 12/17-12/21.
Oh I'm sorry to hear that. If it's something you think you might like, it might be worthwhile to keep checking for availabilty right up until your trip. The special monorail dining package was just released recently. I have found that when Disney announces a new experience there is often a big rush of people that book it. Then in the days that follow some will cancel it after researching it more realizing they don't want to spend the extra money, or it just doesn't fit into their plans.

Whatever you decide, don't let the MVMCP thing get you down for too long. You are still going to have a great vacation!

It's no substitute, but there are so many holiday offerings in every park, IMHO there's plenty of ways to get your holiday fix in other places. Epcot has some holiday booths left over from F&W setup, plus the decorations and tree. The holiday ending on Illuminatons is incredible. Candlelight Processional has always been on our list but have never pulled the trigger given our kids.

The drone thing at DS looks pretty neat.

The Jingle Bam thing at HS seems to have so-so reviews (?), but maybe that's another option.

The night of the party, maybe do a monorail/boat tour of the MK resorts and get pics in front of every tree and check out their respective holiday displays. Position yourself around Poly for the fireworks and watch from the beach. It's arguably one of the best viewing areas outside of the park for the 180 degree holiday fireworks.

Hope that helps.
