The Golf Cart Thread

Looking forward to the Christmas Cart Parade. Does it take place every Saturday and what time does it start? Thanks!

HappyGal, you have to look at the Recreation Calendar for December when it comes out at the first of that month to know for sure.

Here is the link to last year's calendar special events: http://www.disboards.com/threads/fort-wilderness-christmas-2015-special-events.3469512/

It was on Christmas Eve last year at 4pm (one time) which by no means ensures it will be at the same time on the same day this year. For example, the schedule of some of this year's Halloween events was different this year from last year. So there are no guarantees.

That makes it harder to plan things in advance because no one knows the schedule with certainty until it comes out at the first of the month. When it does come out, it will get posted on the main DIS Camping Forum page.

Just a 'wondering' question?? Dh & I have been on a month long road trip and at one campground we camped at, they charged $5 if you had your own personal cart - Holidays were $10 (per day).
They rented carts themselves, so decided to make money regardless.

Have often wondered why Disney hasn't started some type charge for personal carts when they, too, rent them. :( Has anyone else encountered this at campgrounds before?

Ocean Lakes in Myrtle Beach, Daddy Joe's in Tabor City, NC, and Willow Tree in SC all allow golf carts. Besides the Fort, they're the only campgrounds we have been to that allow personal carts.

That being said, they charge a fee every year for a sticker. $25-$40 is what I have seen for a calendar year. The sticker shows you have paid and to get it, you also have to show liability insurance. But that's it. Never had to deal with a daily fee.

Please, don't give WDW any ideas. pirate:

Don't think lowly little me could come up with anything 'financial' that the wizards at Disney haven't thought about long before!! Their eyes are $$$$. :)
Sure they have thought about it.... but we don't want them to resurrect the idea! :rolleyes1

Not that I am worried.... I don't have a personal cart. Of course the damage of something like that could come with renting from "Off-site"

Long live the Golf Cart Thread!

We just got back home Sunday night after a long 8 year, 11 month hiatus since we last saw the Fort. I HAD to take this picture. Does anyone recognize this? Love my family!

Your golf cart puts the stock Disney carts to shame, Barney Fife! :drive: Bama Ed

Take a good look at the picture. Does anyone recognize anything about it? Yes, its at the Fort but what am I getting at with this pic?

Well it's my turn to be the village idiot, Barney Fife. I was too lazy to look at page 1 - i just picked up this thread at the current page.

It was a great idea to take that photo again.

Thought I would bring this thread back to life since no one has posted in a long while (plus I am very bored at work). Here is our cart for this past Halloween's golf cart parade. Going to do the Toy Story theme again, those decorations took me way too long to make to only use once.....but I do want to add and/or change a few things. Any suggestions?

I can't think of any suggestions to improve the cart because it is just wonderful as it is! :flower1:

Terri,

Thanks for resurrecting this topic. I think you need to add Buzz and Woody on the rear bumper. This has become a "thing" with Disney fans.

Maybe a bigger version of this:
